It would be shocking if the Cowboys actually traded Parsons, right?
Dallas' star defender has spent four years with the franchise, and since stepping foot on the field, he's been one of the most dominant forces in the NFL.
In those four professional seasons, he's been named a Pro Bowler four times, first-team All-Pro twice, second-team All-Pro once and was NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2021.
He's also averaging just over 13 sacks and nearly 16 tackles for loss per season.
Still, Parsons is set to enter his fifth year with the Cowboys without a contract extension.
With that, Parsons posted a statement on X on Friday afternoon, expressing his frustration with not having an extension, and announcing that he no longer sees a future in Dallas.
Shortly after Parsons posted that message, Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb voiced his support for his teammate on the same platform.
So, if the Cowboys somehow decided it would be better to trade Parsons than give him an extension, where could he land?

Philly is arguably Dallas' biggest rival, and is the reigning Super Bowl champion. The Eagles had the best defense in the league last season, and were the only team that allowed fewer than 300 yards per game (278.4). They were also one of two teams that allowed fewer than 18 points per game (17.8).

Cowboys and Micah Parsons negotiations have lagged 2 weeks into training camp, but that doesn't mean Parsons isn't talking with leadership
OXNARD, Calif. — As the Dallas Cowboys' first-team offense faced its first-team defense in 11-on-11 drills Monday, Micah Parsons watched from the sideline. The two-time All-Pro edge rusher wore his No. 11 navy jersey atop a gray sweatshirt and sweatpants, and his basketball shoes instead of cleats were yet another sign he would not be practicing. But Parsons wasn't simply present to hold in, rather than hold out, to avoid absence fines amid lagging negotiations on a contract extension. 'The meetings have been really good,' Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer said. 'What you see from him is the coaching piece of it and all that that he's doing. Diving into the other guys and I don't think you'll see much different. 'But again: very engaged, asks good questions, and I don't think that that's going to change.' Two weeks have elapsed since the Cowboys reported to training camp in California, a two-week period in which Parsons has not fully participated in any practice. On Monday, Parsons spoke at length with defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus to the side of defensive line drills during periods of individual work. He then spent most of team drills with Cowboys vice president of player personnel Will McClay, Parsons and McClay watching at ground level from the sideline while team owner and general manager Jerry Jones watched from an adjacent temporary tower. Parsons also spent time with cornerback Trevon Diggs during the Cowboys' late-practice 7-on-7 period. Parsons wore his Cowboys jersey Monday after not doing so Saturday (the players were off Sunday). It was unclear whether Schottenheimer directly asked Parsons to return to wearing his jersey, but it was not unclear whether Schottenheimer preferred that. 'Not a big deal,' Schottenheimer said. 'I mean, we want all of our guys to be the same. And again, there's usually a reason if a guy's not in that. But again, for the most part we're a team. We're going to always act like a team and usually you'll see them all in gear.' Parsons' reason for not wearing the jersey Saturday seemed either connected to, or fortuitously timed near, his Friday request for a trade. Parsons enters the fifth-year option of his rookie deal with the team that selected him 12th overall in 2021. He's dominated in his first four campaigns, racing to 52.5 sacks, 256 tackles, 112 quarterback hits and nine forced fumbles in 63 games. The Cowboys insist they want to pay him and plan to keep him. But negotiations dovetailed when Parsons met directly with Jones in March, a meeting that Jones considered a formal negotiation — a premise that left Parsons feeling misled. Parsons asked the Cowboys to continue and finalize negotiations with his agent, David Mulugheta. Jones became frustrated that Parsons wasn't simply honoring the deal the team owner believed they had, multiple sources with knowledge of the negotiation factors told Yahoo Sports. As of Friday, the Cowboys had yet to send Mulugheta a single contract offer. 'Still not a call[,] email or text to my agent about starting a negotiation,' Parsons wrote in a post on Twitter. 'Up to today the team has not had a single conversation with my agent about a contract.' That remained true as of Monday evening, a person with knowledge of negotiations confirmed to Yahoo Sports. The Cowboys seem to be taking a good cop-bad cop approach, with Jones digging his heels in with, at times, hard-ball negotiation tactics while the coaching staff and even front-office members like McClay continue to engage Parsons. The coaching staff has been hesitant to comment or speculate on where negotiations will go, downplaying what the loss of Parsons means to offensive linemen unable to get the caliber of reps an All-Pro could provide. But Schottenheimer said defensive game plans will not change amid Parsons' current stance. The coaching staff expects Parsons to be available for the Sept. 4 season opener at the Philadelphia Eagles and beyond. 'We're still planning on moving Micah around and putting him in all the spots that we see him and using our fronts the way we want to see it,' Schottenheimer said. 'We go about our business every day. We live in the moment. We focus in the moment. And again, like I said, I talked to you guys the other day, not going to get a lot into it. 'But I expect Micah to be here.'

Eagles' Saquon Barkley says he's not part of Trump's sports council: ‘Definitely a little shocked when my name was mentioned'
Philadelphia Eagles star running back Saquon Barkley said Monday he was surprised to learn he had been named to the President's Council on Sports, Fitness and Nutrition because he had turned down the opportunity earlier this year. Barkley is one of several top athletes who President Donald Trump named to the revamped council that the president unveiled at a White House event last week. When asked about his appointment on Monday, Barkley said he doesn't plan to participate. 'Couple months ago it was brought to my team about the council. So, I'm not really too familiar with it. I felt like I'm going to be super busy so, me and my family thought it was probably in the best interest to not accept that,' Barkley told reporters. 'So, was definitely a little shocked when my name was mentioned. I'm assuming it's something great, so I appreciate it, but was a little shocked my name was mentioned.' CNN has reached out to the White House for a response to Barkley's comments. Barkley and the president are on friendly terms. He was seen spending time with Trump a day before the team's scheduled visit to the White House to celebrate their recent Super Bowl victory. Trump approached the reporters assembled at the airport, saying about Barkley: 'What a nice guy.' He added: 'I wanted to race him, but I decided not to do it.' The pair later boarded Air Force One. In April, pictures on social media showed Barkley and Trump at the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey, with multiple 'Make America Great Again' hats sitting on the table. Barkley used social media to respond to criticism over his decision to meet and play golf with Trump. 'Lol some people are really upset cause I played golfed and flew to the White House with the PRESIDENT,' he said on X. 'Maybe I just respect the office, not a hard concept to understand. Just golfed with Obama not too long ago … and look forward to finishing my round with Trump! Now ya get out my mentions with all this politics and have amazing day.' The other athletes named by the White House as being appointed to the council include golfer Bryson DeChambeau, who will serve as chair; NHL commissioner Gary Bettman, San Francisco 49ers defensive star Nick Bosa; Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker; and former college football player Cody Campbell, who is also the head of Texas Tech's Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) collective and has been a key voice contributing to Trump's policies on college sports. Other notable appointees are NFL commissioner Roger Goodell; hockey legend Wayne Gretzky; golfer Nelly Korda; WWE executive and professional wrestler Paul 'Triple H' Levesque; golf legends Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player; Hall of Fame pitcher Mariano Rivera; retired quarterback and current CBS NFL commentator Tony Romo; golfer Annika Sörenstam; Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa; former New York Giants star Lawrence Taylor; and Florida Panthers player Matthew Tkachuk. Trump was joined by professional athletes on Thursday as he signed the order to expand his Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition, which included reviving the Presidential Fitness Test in public schools. The event, which featured DeChambeau, Butker and Taylor, among others, comes as the US prepares to host the 2025 Ryder Cup, 2026 FIFA World Cup and the 2028 Summer Olympics — all of which are major feathers in Trump's cap for his second term. The president, who often boasts that he gets to oversee the milestone sporting events, has been heavily invested in making them a success. He has also used his bully pulpit to reshape cultural issues, many of which have been tied directly to sports, including new policies on transgender athletes and threatening the Washington Commanders football team to change its name back to the 'Redskins' or potentially face restrictions on a major stadium deal. This initiative seems to be an attempt to build on that momentum. The order formally reestablishes the Presidential Fitness Test, first introduced by President Lyndon B. Johnson in 1966, creating school-based programs that reward 'excellence in physical education' and developing criteria for a Presidential Fitness Award, according to details of the order obtained by CNN. The test, which will be administered by Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., brings back the fitness challenge that permeated public schools and anointed children who received the highest scores with presidential recognition. Former President Barack Obama abandoned the test in 2012 and replaced it with an assessment called the FitnessGram, focused on bettering individual health.
