Coldplay fan reveals earnings from viral kiss cam video on TikTok with almost 125 million views

Grace Springer, the fan who recorded the now-famous Coldplay kiss cam clip involving Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and HR chief Kristin Cabot, has revealed how much she earned after the video gained nearly 125 million views on TikTok.
Speaking on the UK's 'This Morning,' she explained, 'I've actually made no money from the video itself or the views. It's not monetised.'
The footage, taken during Coldplay's Spheres World Tour show at Gillette Stadium on July 16, shows Byron and Cabot reacting nervously when they appear on the big screen. Both quickly shift apart and cover their faces. From the stage, Chris Martin remarked, 'Either they're having an affair or they're just very shy,' before adding, 'Hope we didn't do something wrong.'
Springer shared that she initially hoped to capture herself on camera for fun, but the unexpected moment took on a life of its own. 'There was over 50,000 people at the concert… it was a hot topic,' she said. 'But it wasn't until after the concert, where I was debriefing with my friends and I said 'Let's review the footage… and I think it does [look bad].''
Reflecting on the outcome, she said, 'I definitely feel for Andy's wife Megan, his family and everyone else who has been hurt in the process. But… if it wasn't me who uploaded it, I'm sure someone else would have.'
The viral moment led to Byron's resignation and an internal review involving Cabot. Both individuals appear to be married to other people.

Gwyneth Paltrow parodies Astronomer scandal as temporary spokesperson

Gwyneth Paltrow, actress and ex-wife of Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, has stepped in as the temporary spokesperson for tech company Astronomer following a viral workplace scandal. The controversy erupted after Astronomer's CEO Andy Byron and HR head Kristin Cabot were caught on Coldplay's kiss cam sharing an intimate moment during the band's July 16 concert. The clip quickly went viral, triggering backlash and prompting both executives to resign as the company launched an internal investigation. To control the damage, Astronomer released a satirical promotional video starring Paltrow. In it, she humorously dodges fan-fueled questions like 'What the actual F—?' and 'How's the social media team holding up?' while calmly stating, 'Thank you for your interest in Astronomer.' Rather than addressing the scandal directly, Paltrow shifts focus to promote Astronomer's core offerings—Apache Airflow, workflow automation solutions, and the company's upcoming Beyond Analytics conference this September. The video was posted on Astronomer's LinkedIn and X (formerly Twitter), where it quickly gained traction and was praised for its witty and self-aware approach. Thank you for your interest in Astronomer. — Astronomer (@astronomerio) July 25, 2025 With Pete DeJoy stepping in as interim CEO, Astronomer is aiming to stabilize its operations and redirect public attention to its technical services. The mix of humor, celebrity involvement, and strategic messaging is being hailed as a surprisingly effective PR recovery move during a chaotic week for the company.

Coldplay could be sued after kiss cam stunt drags Andy Byron into spotlight

Former Astronomer CEO Andy Byron may be considering legal action against Coldplay after his kiss cam moment with colleague Kristin Cabot went viral — but legal experts say any such lawsuit would likely fail. During a recent Coldplay concert near Boston, frontman Chris Martin commented on the couple caught on the jumbotron, joking, 'Either they're having an affair or they're just very shy.' The comment, caught on video, ignited public backlash. Byron, who has since resigned, has remained silent, as has Cabot — both of whom are married. Attorney Camron Dowlatshahi of MSD Lawyers told Page Six that Byron might attempt a defamation claim, but he would have to prove Martin's statement was false and made with malice — both unlikely to hold in court. 'None of those elements will be met,' Dowlatshahi said, calling any lawsuit 'frivolous.' Further complicating matters, Massachusetts' two-party consent law does not apply in this context. Legal experts note that Byron had no expectation of privacy at a public event and likely waived related rights by purchasing a concert ticket. Byron also cannot sue TikTok user Grace Springer, whose video of the incident has amassed over 125 million views. Lawyers argue her post is protected under the First Amendment and doesn't commercialize Byron's likeness. However, Kristin Cabot could potentially pursue a workplace harassment claim against Byron, given his senior role at Astronomer. Attorney Craig Weiner noted that the company could be held liable due to Byron's position of power. Astronomer has publicly condemned the incident and accepted Byron's resignation following internal investigation.

Stephen Colbert receives support from late night hosts after show cancellation sparks political backlash

Stephen Colbert was joined by several fellow late night hosts on Monday's The Late Show episode, marking his first appearance since announcing the show's upcoming welcomed surprise visits from Jimmy Fallon (The Tonight Show), Jon Stewart (The Daily Show), Seth Meyers (Late Night), and John Oliver (Last Week Tonight), showcasing late night solidarity in a time of upheaval. Stephen Colbert just showing CBS/Paramount what a huge mistake they're making (ratings and $ wise). Had Lin-Manuel Miranda and Weird Al playing Coldplay to an audience of: Anderson Cooper, Andy Cohen, Seth Meyers, Jimmy Fallon, Jon Stewart, Adam Sandler and more… — Nadine Babu (@NadineBabu) July 22, 2025 The episode featured a satirical musical segment, parodying a recent viral Coldplay concert moment. Colbert enlisted 'Weird Al' Yankovic and Lin-Manuel Miranda to perform Viva La Vida as the camera panned to various celebrity cameos, including CNN's Anderson Cooper, Bravo's Andy Cohen, and actors Adam Sandler and Christopher McDonald. The sketch ended abruptly after the camera landed on a cartoon of Donald Trump discarding the Paramount logo, prompting Colbert to joke: 'Your song has been cancelled.' Following the comedic sketch, Colbert shifted to a more pointed tone during his monologue, responding directly to Trump's reaction to the show's cancellation. Turning to the camera, he bluntly stated: 'Go f–k yourself.' He also dismissed Trump's prediction that Jimmy Kimmel would be next, adding, 'There's only room for one on this cross, and the view is fantastic from up here.' CBS previously stated the decision to cancel The Late Show was financially motivated and unrelated to content or performance. However, industry insiders speculate that Colbert's outspoken criticism of Trump may have played a role. The announcement follows CBS parent company Paramount's $16 million settlement with Trump and its pending merger with Skydance Media. Colbert confirmed that The Late Show will officially conclude in May 2026, marking the end of his run after more than a decade. The news drew strong reactions across the entertainment industry, with late night hosts including Kimmel, Fallon, Meyers, and Oliver expressing their support and admiration for Colbert and his legacy in political comedy.
