Pakistan
ended their T20I series on a high with a 74-run victory over Bangladesh in the third and final match in Dhaka on Thursday. Despite the loss, Bangladesh sealed the series 2-1, having already won the first two matches.
Opener Sahibzada Farhan led the charge with a blistering 41-ball 63, smashing six fours and five sixes to give Pakistan a strong start. He put up an 82-run opening stand with Saim Ayub (21), setting the tone for a much-improved batting effort. Hasan Nawaz added late fireworks with 33 off 17 balls, while Mohammad Nawaz chipped in with a useful 27 off 16 deliveries as Pakistan posted 178/7.
In reply, Bangladesh crumbled under pressure.
Fast bowler Salman Mirza, playing only his third international match, tore through the top order with figures of 3-19. He struck with the second ball of the innings, removing Tanzid Hasan for a duck and triggering a collapse. Only Mohammad Saifuddin put up some resistance, remaining unbeaten on 35. Mohammad Naim and Mehidy Hasan Miraz (both scored 10) were the only other batters to reach double digits as Bangladesh were bowled out for 104 in 16.4 overs.
Faheem Ashraf supported well with 2-13, and Mohammad Nawaz claimed the final two wickets to seal the win.
'I am very proud of my team,' said Pakistan captain Salman Agha after the match. 'This is what we talked about as a team, no matter what situation we are in, we want to show character,' he added, as quoted by AFP.
Bangladesh skipper Litton Das remained positive despite the loss. 'We played some good cricket and it's great to win a series against Pakistan,' said Litton, who also led Bangladesh to a T20 series win in Sri Lanka last week.

Taskin Ahmed took 3/38 and Nasum Ahmed claimed 2/22 for Bangladesh, but their efforts weren't enough to stop Pakistan from claiming a consolation win.

‘He should have asked his bowlers to bowl underarm like Greg Chappell': Ashwin takes a dig at Ben Stokes' draw offer and sledging Jadeja

The final day of the fourth Test between India and England in Manchester saw its share of controversies as England captain Ben Stokes showed frustration over Indian batsmen Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar refusing a handshake and draw offer with one hour remaining. While Jadeja and Sundar stitched an unbroken 202-run fifth-wicket partnership to end England's hopes of victory, Stokes targeted them verbally, asking Jadeja: 'You want to get a Test hundred against Harry Brook?' With Stokes opting to bowl part-timers Harry Brook and Joe Root in the mandatory last hour, former Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin sarcastically suggested Stokes should have gone further. 'I am actually disappointed. He (Ben Stokes) should have asked his bowlers to bowl underarm like Greg Chappell. It would have looked nice. Please don't talk about the spirit of cricket, sportsmanship. This is ridiculous,' Ashwin said on his YouTube channel Ash Ki Baat. 'What is the rule? If both captains believe the game cannot head towards a result, they can agree to a draw. One captain wanted to close it out. Why? First, he didn't want to tire his bowlers. Second, 'I am frustrated. You should also not be happy.' The second point isn't in the rules. According to the first point, India was right. If I were captain, I would have played all 15 overs.' While Stokes cited protecting his frontline bowlers from fatigue and injury, the incident drew reactions from across the cricketing world, including Indian coach Gautam Gambhir, who defended India's right to bat. At the start of the final hour, Jadeja was on 89 and Sundar on 80. Both went on to complete centuries—Sundar's maiden Test hundred and Jadeja's fifth. Ashwin called Stokes' behavior 'double standards.' 'Double standards. They defined it in the last ten minutes today. You're frustrated you can't win, so you fight with your players, punch the ball, do whatever. But by offering a handshake, you're saying, 'I'm frustrated, so you also don't get a hundred. You also go crying.' How is this fair? He's battled since morning against Archer, Hoggard, Gough, Flintoff. Should he leave his century? Your question was, 'Do you want a century against Harry Brook?' No, he wants a century. Bring Steve Harmison, bring Flintoff! They wouldn't say no. You're bowling Harry Brook—that's your mistake, not ours.' Stokes exchanged words with Jadeja, while England openers Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett also sledged the Indian pair. Crawley was heard telling Sundar: 'F***ing hell Washi, get on with it,' with Jofra Archer adding: 'If you wanted a hundred, you should have batted like it earlier.' Sundar reached his maiden Test ton before the teams agreed to a draw after five overs. Ashwin mocked Crawley's comments, declaring the result an 'Indian win': 'Zak Crawley told him, 'If you wanted 100, you should have batted quicker.' That's his choice. You want quick runs and get out at 70? That's your game. Zak Crawley or Ben Stokes, if you were batting, would you leave your hundred for the 'spirit of the game'? I feel like laughing. It's crazy. That's why I say this isn't a draw, it's an Indian win.'

Ben Stokes Handshake Snubbed By Ravindra Jadeja And Washington Sundar: Aakash Chopra Slams England's Drama In 4th Test Draw

The fourth Test of the India vs England 2025 series at Old Trafford, Manchester may have ended in a draw, but the final day was anything but dull. In fact, it became the most talked-about finish of the summer — not just because Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar scored gritty centuries to deny England a win, but due to the controversy surrounding Ben Stokes' reaction and the now-viral handshake drama. As India played out the final session with composure, the series of events that unfolded painted a far more heated picture. Former India opener Aakash Chopra didn't hold back, lashing out at the England skipper and questioning his intent and sportsmanship in his post-match remarks. Jadeja, Sundar Slam Tons; India Deny England Series Win Under pressure and trailing in the series, India found unlikely heroes in Ravindra Jadeja (109*) and Washington Sundar (101*), who batted with resolve on Day 5 to script a memorable draw. Their unbeaten partnership not only salvaged the match but kept the five-match series alive heading into the Oval decider. However, drama peaked when England skipper Ben Stokes allegedly offered a handshake, suggesting the teams should settle for a draw — despite Jadeja being on 89 and Sundar on 80. India declined, and the pair went on to complete their centuries. The visuals of Harry Brook's extended hand being ignored became an instant social media sensation, sparking debates about 'the spirit of the game.' "What Power Were You Trying to Show?" – Chopra Slams Stokes' Intent Reacting to the controversy, Aakash Chopra minced no words in criticizing Stokes' approach. 'What power were you trying to show off? You were showing a holier-than-thou attitude for what? What spirit of the game were you talking about?' Chopra said in his YouTube video, highlighting that mandatory overs were still in play, and India had every right to continue batting. He added that Stokes' visible agitation and the England players' animated discussions with Jadeja reflected poor sportsmanship. 'Even if one team wants to play more, you have to bowl. That's the rule. Why should the handshake be done when the batters are on the brink of centuries?' 'Did I Ask You to Bowl Harry Brook?' – The Tactics in Question Stokes came under further fire for bringing on part-time bowlers Harry Brook and Joe Root in the closing overs. When Jadeja and Sundar pushed on for their hundreds, Stokes reportedly remarked sarcastically about the value of scoring centuries off part-timers. Aakash Chopra clapped back: 'Did I ask you to bowl Harry Brook? You had Jofra Archer, Brydon Carse, Chris Woakes… even yourself. If you couldn't dismiss them, that's on your team. Don't blame the batters for wanting their milestones.' He called the English side's frustration misplaced, arguing that India showed resilience and had earned the right to continue. Bazball, But Only When It Suits? Chopra also questioned the England team's Bazball philosophy, pointing out its contradictions. 'You're the Bazball team that says we don't believe in draws. But now, when India fights back, you want an early handshake? That's not how it works.' He praised Jadeja and Sundar for their temperament and accused England of losing composure when their tactics failed. Test Cricket at Its Spicy Best: All Roads Lead to The Oval While the Test technically ended in a draw, it added plenty of fire to a rivalry already brimming with intensity. With the series now at 2-1 in England's favour, the stage is set for a blockbuster finale at The Oval. The handshake snub, Stokes' 'attitude', and the centurions' resolve have reignited conversations around gamesmanship, respect, and how modern Test cricket blends drama with class.

Lakshya Sen's big relief; SC quashes FIR in birth certificate forgery case, says criminal proceedings unwarranted

The Supreme Court on Monday quashed an FIR against badminton player Lakshya Sen, his family members, and coach in the birth certificate forgery case. (Photo by Yuichi YAMAZAKI / AFP)(AFP) A bench of Justices Sudhanshu Dhulia and Aravind Kumar said the continuation of criminal proceedings against Sen is unwarranted and amounts to abuse of the process of court. The top court had earlier issued notices to the Karnataka government and complainant M G Nagaraj, who alleged that birth certificates of Lakshya Sen and his brother Chirag Sen were forged. The top court was hearing a plea challenging the February 19 order of the Karnataka High Court which rejected the petitions filed by Sen, his family members, and his coach U Vimal Kumar. The high court ruled there was prima facie evidence warranting an investigation into the case. The case stems from a private complaint filed by Nagaraj, who alleged Sen's parents Dhirendra and Nirmala Sen, along with his brother, coach, and an employee of the Karnataka Badminton Association, were involved in "falsifying" the birth records.
