With death clock gone, Khamenei's prophecy lies shattered

Time of India23-06-2025
Israel conducted on Monday a high-profile airstrike on Tehran, targeting not only military and intelligence assets but also one of the most potent ideological symbols of the Islamic Republic -- the
digital countdown clock
in Palestine Square. Installed in 2017, the clock was based on Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei's ominous 2015 prophecy that Israel 'will not exist in 25 years.' Its destruction carries enormous symbolic weight, not only erasing a defiant message embedded in Tehran's skyline but also underlining Israel's growing assertiveness amid escalating confrontation.
The origin and ideology behind the doomsday clock
The digital clock, unveiled during Quds Day in June 2017, was more than a timekeeping device. It was propaganda incarnate, counting down the days to Israel's predicted demise in 2040. Displaying its message in Persian, Arabic and English, the clock tower loomed over Palestine Square, a location already soaked in political symbolism. Its placement and message were calculated to consolidate
Iran
's self-image as the epicenter of the anti-Israel activities.
For Iran's hardliners, the clock functioned as a perpetual reminder of their ideological mission -- the eventual eradication of Israel. It was also designed to project ideological resolve to domestic and foreign audiences alike. To supporters, it was a declaration of strategic patience and religious destiny. To Israel, it was a provocation, an unwavering threat that one day Iran's ambitions would be realized.

Israel is not yet willing to touch Iran's most sensitive nerve
In July 2021, widespread blackouts across Iran briefly halted the countdown. Though the disruption was due to electricity shortages caused by drought, heatwaves, and crumbling infrastructure, the symbolic impact was immediate. Iranian critics mocked the state's inability to keep its ideological machinery running, while international observers noted the irony that a regime proclaiming the fall of Israel couldn't keep a propaganda clock running. This moment offered a rare window into Iran's fragility. Even as the regime pushed grand ideological visions, it struggled with basic services, facing economic strain from sanctions and internal mismanagement. The clock's failure, however brief, diminished its aura of invincibility and suggested a gap between Tehran's ambitions and its capabilities.

Fordow underground enrichment site attacked again, says Iranian media, a day after US strikes
An ominous symbol is gone but the threat remains
Today's Israeli airstrike marks a critical turning point, not just in military escalation, but in the symbolic war between the two nations. Alongside hits on the notorious Evin Prison and IRGC headquarters, Israel deliberately targeted the countdown clock in Palestine Square. This act was not accidental. It was a surgical erasure of a regime's ideological fixture, timed precisely to deliver maximum symbolic impact.
The destruction of the clock represented a reversal of narratives. For years, Iran had used the clock as a visual countdown toward Israel's destruction. By physically erasing it, Israel flipped the script, demonstrating that it no longer accepted Iran's psychological warfare and that it possessed both the will and the precision to eliminate even the most guarded symbols of ideological aggression.
The clock's destruction coincides with a series of crippling blows to Iran's nuclear ambitions and strategic infrastructure. American B-2 bombers have destroyed Iran's key nuclear site, Fordow, using bunker-buster bombs, which amounts to the de-nuclearisation of Iran. The development marks a significant rollback of Iranian power. For the first time in years, Israel appears to be dictating the tempo of conflict, not reacting to Iran's moves, but preemptively shaping the battlefield. The destruction of ideological symbols like the countdown clock underlines this momentum.
However, it would be premature to declare Israel free of existential threat. Iran still retains a vast missile arsenal and asymmetric tools such as drones, cyber capabilities and maritime threats in the Strait of Hormuz. Even a weakened Iran can inflict significant damage through its regional proxies or unconventional attacks. Ideologically, while the clock is gone, the doctrine behind it remains embedded in the regime's DNA.
Perhaps the most important shift lies in the realm of psychological warfare. The countdown clock's presence gave Iran a persistent advantage in setting the ideological narrative. Its disappearance, bombed into oblivion by an Israeli strike, reverses that advantage. It suggests that Tehran's grand timelines and theological certainties are no longer sacred or untouchable.
Symbolically, this act represents Israel's defiance not just of physical threats, but of the very idea that its destruction is inevitable. It delivers a message to the Iranian regime and its allies that history will not unfold on their terms. By destroying the clock, Israel has shattered Khamenei's prophecy, not only for the people of Tehran, but for a global audience witnessing the symbolic end of the 2040 vision. Bombing of the countdown clock is the culmination of a sustained campaign by Israel and the US to neutralize both the physical and ideological engines of Iran's aggression. While military threats remain and Iran's ambitions are far from extinguished, the destruction of the clock marks a powerful shift in psychological momentum.

Mossad Reveals Details Of Its Covert Operations In Iran; Secret Gaza Plan In Final Stage

Four days ago, Mossad Chief David Barnea visited Washington D.C., where he held a high-level meeting with Steve Witkoff, the U.S. envoy to the Middle East. According to sources, during the meeting, Barnea presented a PowerPoint proposal outlining a controversial plan to relocate Palestinian civilians from Gaza to third countries. The proposed host nations included Ethiopia, Libya, and Indonesia, with Israel reportedly offering financial assistance to these countries in exchange for accepting displaced Palestinians. While the U.S. response to the proposal has not been made public yet, acceptance of the plan would be a significant strategic win for Israel. Reducing the Palestinian population in Gaza would, from Israel's perspective, diminish the chances of Hamas regrouping, thereby enhancing long-term security. In today's DNA, Rahul Sinha, Managing Editor, of Zee News, analysed the details of Mossad's plan. These operations, according to Israeli intelligence reports, unfolded like a high-stakes spy thriller. The operations began as Mossad identified and eliminated top Iranian military commanders, targeting the elite Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), which was allegedly planning attacks on Israeli and American interests in the Middle East. Mossad's first major target was IRGC Commander Hussein Salami. Barnea's agency had already turned one of Salami's close associates into a Mossad agent a year earlier. This agent fed Salami disinformation that an Israeli airstrike was imminent on his residence. The agent then directed Salami to a supposed safehouse, which was subsequently hit by an Israeli missile, killing him. Understanding that weakening the IRGC leadership would demoralize the Iranian military, Mossad proceeded with a second mission—this time targeting another IRGC General, Amir Ali Hajizadeh. Mossad allegedly used deepfake voice technology to mimic a senior Iranian leader and lured Hajizadeh to a small military base outside Tehran for a meeting. Once he and his officers arrived, the Israeli Air Force launched a missile strike, eliminating the group. Mossad's goal during the missile exchanges between Israel and Iran was to cripple Iranian intelligence and military morale, preventing any substantial retaliatory operations. The third key figure eliminated was Ali Shadmani, who had taken charge of Iran's war council following Salami's death. In Shadmani's case, Mossad utilized cutting-edge AI and surveillance technology. Mossad's elite Unit 8200 built a physical and behavioral model of Shadmani using his DNA samples, while their tech unit hacked Tehran's CCTV systems to pinpoint his exact location. Shadmani was eventually taken out by a drone strike, precisely executed based on live surveillance data. Aftermath and Continuing Fear in Iran Even though over a month has passed since the ceasefire, the impact of Mossad's operations continues to reverberate. Iranian authorities are still conducting arrests and crackdowns on suspected Mossad agents, signaling deep infiltration. Iranian officials reportedly believe that Mossad has established influence across every layer of Iran's intelligence and military apparatus.

Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation to establish English-medium school in Thakkarbapa Nagar

The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) School Board has decided to establish an English-medium school in Thakkarbapa Nagar area's India Colony locality, where two Marathi and Tamil medium schools were previously shut down due to low student enrollment. The Board has also decided to name the newly renovated English-medium school as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Public School. Last week, on Saturday, a ground-breaking ceremony of the new school was held in the presence of local elected representatives from Lok Sabha and Gujarat Assembly and office bearers of the AMC School Board. The officials said that they plan to start the school from next academic year in June 2026. AMC School Board Chairman Sujay Mehta told The Indian Express, 'Presently, around 450 schools of the Corporation are operating. Earlier, Marathi and Tamil classes were being held at a school in India Colony. However, gradually it closed down due to the dearth of students. So, for the last 10 years, this school building was lying closed. Our local school board member, local councilors and local MLA Kanchaben Radadiya were in contact with the local residents and they had given a representation stating that there is no English-medium school in the entire area and so if such a school could be started there, it would be beneficial to the (local) students.' 'Considering the representation, we wrote a letter to the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan of Gujarat government and we got the permission (to start an English-medium school). So, we have dismantled the old building and did ground breaking (for the new school building). We have decided to name the new school as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Public School,' Mehta added. Those present at the groundbreaking ceremony included members of Parliament Hasmukh Patel and Dinesh Makwana, local MLA Kanchan Radadiya and president of Ahmedabad City unit of BJP Prerak Shah. Mehta said that they are trying 'to make the school functional by the start of next academic year in June 2026'.

Planted leaks, digital DNA, camera hacking, sleeper cells! How did Israel's Mossad eliminate Iran's top commanders and nuclear scientists?

New Delhi: Israel carried out a major attack on Iran last month. This attack was a major success for Israel as top officers and senior nuclear scientists of the Iranian army were killed in it. More than a month after the war with Iran stopped, new details have emerged about the accuracy of Israel's intelligence operations. Information has been given about how Israeli intelligence agency Mossad targeted Iran's military leadership. What technique did Mossad use to kill Iran's top commanders? Iran International has made these revelations in its report. These revelations are from Mossad's planted leaks in Iran, digital DNA, and camera hacking. How did Mossad attack the top commanders of the Iranian army points to a comprehensive and intensive operation, which included human resources, cyber intrusion and drone attacks? They systematically targeted the top commanders of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). After this, a fierce war went on between Iran and Israel for 12 days. How was IRGC commander Hossein Salami targeted? The most important claim of the intelligence operation is related to IRGC commander Hussain Salami, who was trapped by Mossad. Iran International says that Israel deliberately leaked the date of a planned attack through an agent close to Salami. This method worked and brought him to a predetermined place. At this place, the Israeli intelligence agency had already prepared a plot to kill Salami. He was attacked when he arrived here. What happened to IRGC Commander Amir Ali Hajizadeh? IRGC Aerospace Force Commander Amir Ali Hajizadeh also died in a dramatic manner. According to Iran International's report, Mossad misled Hajizadeh and his top colleagues to attend a fake meeting. This invitation was given through a highly credible phone call. This fake phone call was so credible that they set out to attend the meeting and were attacked as soon as they reached there. When was Ali Shadmani assassinated? The operation to kill Ali Shadmani, who commanded the Khatam-al Anbiya Central Headquarters, shows the coordination of advanced technology and espionage. Mossad was able to digitally obtain Shadmani's DNA sample and used AI for facial recognition and genetic profiling. Malware inserted into Tehran's security camera system monitored Shadmani's movements and he was killed in a drone strike in the Zafarani district. In another Mossad-led operation, IRGC intelligence chief Mohammad Kazemi and his two colleagues were lured to a safe house. Israeli agents launched a missile attack on them when they arrived here. How did Israel launch cyberattack in Iran? Israel also carried out rapid cyberattacks in Iran during this period. Iran's Communications Minister has revealed that more than 20,000 cyberattacks took place on the country during the conflict. He said that in many cases we were successful in countering these attacks. However, the scale of the disruption raises concerns about Iran's digital infrastructure.
