Jack Schlossberg rants about Ryan Murphy show about uncle JFK Jr. and Carolyn Bessette- Kennedy: ‘Grotesque'
Former President John F. Kennedy's grandson Jack Schlossberg put TV super-producer Ryan Murphy on blast for the 'grotesque' new series on '90s it-couple John Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy.
The histrionic-prone Kennedy scion expressed his outrage in an Instagram-rant Wednesday — blasting the showrunners of the upcoming 'American Love Story' for profiting off family tragedy.

'Lately, my news feed has been filled with pictures of my uncle, John F. Kennedy Jr. a great man,' Schlossberg, 32, said in the video, referencing the Murphy-produced show.
'For those wondering whether his family was ever consulted, or has anything to do with the new show being made about him, the answer is no. And there's not much we can do.'
'For the record, I think admiration for my Uncle John is great. What I don't think is great is profiting off of it in a grotesque way,' Schlossberg concluded.

Schlossberg is not the only one upset with the new production — a chorus of Kennedy and Carolyn-fans were up in arms over the first images released by the FX production questioning the wardrobe choices and claiming the actors were a far-cry from Camelot.
'There was nobody else who could play Carolyn?!,' one disappointed Instagram user commented on the stills shared on social media of the no-name actors who secured the coveted roles.
'Her yes, him no. JFK Jr. was gorgeous, this guy is average,' one looky-loo commented.

'She would never wear this,' another armchair critic wrote.
'I think maybe Ryan Murphy should be stopped,' one wrote, receiving the reply from another, 'Ryan needs to take a break, seriously.'
Murphy, 59, who produced TV hits 'Glee' and 'American Horror Stories,' admitted he was taken aback by the negative reception the first-look received and fired back at critics in defense of the unknown actors.
'Carolyn Bessette is clearly a religious figure and it's a religion of her own,' Murphy told Variety, adding, 'It's very interesting that people become so inflammatory.'
Murphy revealed that over one thousand actors auditioned for each role, with the production settling on 'perfect choices' Sarah Pidgeon and Paul Kelly.

'We're writing a story about a person — an unknown person — who falls in love with the most famous man in the world and suddenly she can't leave her house,' the 'xxxx 'Grotesquerie' creator said.
'They're doing to our Carolyn what they did to real-life Carolyn,' Murphy said of critics, adding, 'It's not fair.'
The 'Halston' producer further clarified fashion critics who called out the photos for including articles of clothing and accessories that the real life Bessette did not — or would not — wear.
'There were comments like, 'I hate that coat, Carolyn would never have worn that.' That was just a coat we threw on for color. 'How dare you use the No. 35 Birkin bag? She wore a 40!' Yes, we have a 40 but we just threw on a bag from another costume department because that was the sound stage we were on,' Murphy expounded to the outlet..
'American Love Story' will premiere on FX next year on Valentine's Day.

When it comes to sharing her beauty regimen, Khloé Kardashian is taking a page from sister Kylie Jenner's digital book. The reality TV star and media mogul, 41, opened up about her history of cosmetic procedures in the comments section of a June 28 Instagram post. Following her recent appearance at Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez's Italy wedding, Kardashian received a shout-out from Dr. Jonny Betteridge, a London-based aesthetician, who praised her as the "standout face" from the celebrity nuptials. Betteridge, who said Kardashian's physical appearance has "changed a lot over the past few years" speculated that "The Kardashians" star's "transformation" likely included cosmetic procedures such as a "temporal brow lift," a rhinoplasty (nose job), lip filler, and a face and neck lift. "She looks dramatically different from a few years ago," Betteridge concluded. "And whether you see it as glow up or glam makeover, there's no denying she's created a bold new look for herself." The following day, Kardashian responded to Betteridge's assessment by confirming the cosmetic work she's had done in a detailed list, including the doctors and service providers who oversaw her procedures. "I take this as a great compliment!" she wrote. "In 2025 there are many other things we can do before surgery," Kardashian added. Why did English punk duo Bob Vylan's visas get revoked by the State Department?
The State Department revoked visas for members of Britain's Bob Vylan punk-rap duo after they led chants during their set at the Glastonbury music festival in England over the weekend. The U.S. government and the BBC, which broadcast the event, said the language was antisemitic. "In light of their hateful tirade at Glastonbury, including leading the crowd in death chants ... foreigners who glorify violence and hatred are not welcome visitors to our country," State Department Deputy Secretary Christopher Landau posted on social media on June 30. The BBC issued a warning on screen for strong language while the set was being streamed online, but it acknowledged that it should have gone further. During Bob Vylan's set, he led the audience in chants including "death, death to the IDF, "referring to the Israel Defense Forces fighting a war in Gaza. Law enforcement is investigating "comments made on stage" for possible public order offenses, including hate crimes, after reviewing video footage and audio from their performances, the Avon and Somerset regional police force told Reuters. Instagram Improves Spotify Music Sharing Options in Stories
This story was originally published on Social Media Today. To receive daily news and insights, subscribe to our free daily Social Media Today newsletter. Instagram's rolling out the ability to actually listen to a preview of a song that you've shared from Spotify in IG Stories, as opposed to just providing a Spotify link, further refining its music engagement elements. So now, when you share a Spotify music sticker within your IG Stories, viewers will be able to listen to it in-stream. Up till now, you've been able to share Spotify music stickers, but that only provided a link back to the Spotify track. The updated sticker now also includes audio, which is a big improvement. Yet, at the same time, functionally, it's not really new, as you've been able to post music in Stories since forever. But you haven't been able to combine Spotify song sharing within Stories in the same way, to it builds on that functionality. Though you have been able to share songs to your Stories via 'Add Yours' music stickers, while you can also now share songs from Spotify to your IG Notes, a feature that Instagram added last month. And now, you can also share what you're listening to on Spotify direct to Stories as well, adding another music engagement option in the app. WhatsApp added the same for its version of Stories, in WhatsApp Status, last month. The option adds another means to counter the rising influence of TikTok, and potentially replace TikTok's presence in this respect, if TikTok ever ends up getting banned in the U.S. TikTok has become a key platform for music promotion, with music publishers now focusing on the app as an essential connector, with some even changing their artists' song names to better align with TikTok trends. But if TikTok goes bye-bye, as a result of the 'Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act,' then all that music engagement will have to go elsewhere, and IG seems to be setting itself up as the best alternative in this respect. Though YouTube is also adding music features to tap into the same opportunity, and with TikTok continuing to get extensions from Trump, it doesn't look like it's going anywhere either way. But still, it's another music engagement option, which will provide more ways for IG users to share their favorite tracks.
