Comedian and actor Munawar Faruqui's son, Mikael, has been hospitalised due to a viral infection. Mehzabeen Coatwala, his partner and makeup artist, confirmed this via social media. The update comes amid a seasonal spike in infections, prompting parents to be more cautious about children's health.
Mehzabeen took to Instagram Stories to share a heartfelt message alongside a photo with their son. 'To all parents, with the viral infections going around, let's be extra cautious. Keep an eye on your kids' hygiene and take care! Get well soon my baby boy," she wrote, urging families to prioritise hygiene and wellness during this period.
The couple, who have formed a blended family, have been vocal about their journey together. In a recent appearance on Farah Khan's YouTube channel, Munawar opened up about his decision to bring his son into his life full-time. 'When he was leaving, I felt like he needed me, and more than him, I think I needed him. In that moment, I thought what is it that I should do so I can make him stay with me. For him, I took that decision," he shared.
Mehzabeen, who has a 10-year-old daughter from a previous relationship, was also navigating similar emotions. Recalling their conversation, Munawar said, 'I asked her the next day, 'Are you okay marrying me?' I stayed with that decision the whole night. I felt that Mikael should stay with me, I was just praying for that." Farah Khan praised the couple for embracing their blended family dynamic.
On the professional front, Munawar has been making headlines as the new co-host of Colors TV's upcoming reality show Pati Patni Aur Panga, alongside Sonali Bendre. In an official statement, he said, 'I'm really excited to be working with Sonali ma'am, she's been an inspiration for years. Together, we're here to explore the real, relatable side of relationships with a bit of fun along the way."
