Shot by Tim Walker at England's majestic Hatfield House, the campaign takes its inspiration from Virginia Woolf's Orlando, a character who journeys across centuries, genders, and selves. Just like Orlando, the collection is multi-dimensional – expect shortened crinolines, zip-up corsets, and jackets crafted from velvet with rich embroidery.

'The Beatles' drummer Ringo Starr spent two days with director Sam Mendes over his biopic

The Beatles drummer Ringo Starr is making sure his biopic is just right and doesn't account for false information on his life. Starr admitted that he spent two days with director Sam Mendes reviewing the script of his biopic, as reported by Variety. In its recent profile on The Beatles drummer, The New York Times reported, Starr met with director Sam Mendes to discuss his biopic. Over "two days," Starr went over the script with Mendes "line by line" and offered "extensive notes" to make sure it was as true to life as possible. One particular area of focus was on Starr's family and first marriage to Maureen Starkey Tigrett, reported Variety. "He had a writer -- very good writer, great reputation, and he wrote it great, but it had nothing to do with Maureen and I," Starr was quoted as saying by Variety. "That's not how we were. I'd say, 'We would never do that.'" Starr said he was quite comfortable with his depiction after the edit session and trusted Mendes to carry through with the vision. Starr added, "But he'll do what he's doing, and I'll send him peace and love." Mendes plans to release four Beatles biopics in April 2028, each one from a different band member's perspective. The project is titled The Beatles - A Four-Film Cinematic Event. It is currently unknown whether the movies will be released all at once or in weekly instalments throughout April. As for casting, Paul Mescal will play Paul McCartney, Joseph Quinn will portray George Harrison, Barry Keoghan is Starr and Harris Dickinson will play John Lennon. The logline for the four-part saga reads, "Each man has his own story, but together they are legendary," as quoted by Variety. The Beatles were an English rock band formed in Liverpool in 1960. The core lineup of the band comprised John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr. They're considered one of the most successful and influential bands in Western music history.

Ozzy and Sabbath delight adoring fans in emotional farewell gig

Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath thrilled tens of thousands of fans in an emotional farewell gig in Birmingham following a day packed with tribute sets from a star-studded lineup. Nearly six decades after helping pioneer heavy metal with an eponymous song that enthralled and frightened audiences, Black Sabbath returned to their home of Aston for Back to the Beginning, at Villa Park stadium. The one-off gig, with profits going to charity, was billed as Osbourne's last performance, five years after the 76-year-old Prince of Darkness revealed he had Parkinson's disease, which has made him unable to walk. One of music's wildest frontmen, who once chewed off the head of a bat on stage, Osbourne performed sitting on a black throne, at times appearing to tear up before an adoring crowd which lapped up hits, including Crazy Train. "You've got no idea how I feel. Thank you from the bottom of my heart," Osbourne said. Earlier, over a dozen acts including Metallica, Slayer, Tool and Guns N' Roses paid tribute to Black Sabbath and performed to a sea of fans in black band T-shirts who headbanged, moshed and crowd-surfed through a long day of rock and metal music. "Without Sabbath there would be no Metallica. Thank you, boys, for giving us a purpose in life," Metallica frontman James Hetfield said. Some of rock music's biggest names appeared on stage, including the Rolling Stones' Ronnie Wood, Aerosmith's Steven Tyler, Megadeth's David Ellefson, the Red Hot Chili Peppers' Chad Smith and Rage Against the Machine's Tom Morello, who was also the event's musical director. Morello told Metal Hammer magazine earlier that his goal had been to create "the greatest day in the history of heavy metal as a salute to the band that started it all". The gig united Sabbath's original lineup of Osbourne, bassist Geezer Butler, guitarist Tony Iommi and drummer Bill Ward for the first time in 20 years. Some fans cried and many said they felt emotional. One of them was Runo Gokdemir, a teacher from London, who said he had sold a car for 400 pounds (Dh2,005) to pay for a ticket. "I love Ozzy that much," he said. "When I had a tough time in my teenage years, I listened to Black Sabbath, and Ozzy has got me through a lot." Lisa Meyer, who organised a Black Sabbath exhibition in Birmingham in 2019, said the band had built an enduring legacy by offering a heavier alternative to the Beatlemania and hippy music of the 1960s. "That's what really resonated with fans, giving a voice to that rage, anger and frustration, but doing it in a really cathartic way," Meyer, co-founder of the Home of Metal project, said. Ozzy finished his solo set and returned with Black Sabbath, including a shirtless Ward, to perform four of their biggest hits including Paranoid and Iron Man. Tom Mould, an engineering apprentice who stood in the front row for 12 hours, said he loved every bit of Osbourne's set: "He's still got it."

British rock band Oasis reunite in Cardiff, thrilling fans

British rock band Oasis reunited in Cardiff last week as the Gallagher brothers put more than 16 years of acrimony behind them to deliver a hit-packed set that took thousands of fans back to the optimism and swagger of the 1990s. The Manchester band defined the "Britpop" revival of guitar music, before tensions between Noel Gallagher, the band's main songwriter, and his younger brother, lead singer Liam, led to its split. The group walked onto the stage in the 74,500-capacity Principality Stadium and launched into Hello, sounding as tight as at the height of their fame. Interaction with the audience was minimal during the two-hour performance. Interaction between the brothers was non-existent until a very brief hug at the end. The crowd, largely comprising middle-aged fans revisiting their youth, sang along to hits including Supersonic and Roll With It. At the end of Live Forever, a picture of Liverpool and Portugal footballer Diogo Jota, who was killed in a car accident last week, was shown on the screens behind the band. Oasis ended with Don't Look Back in Anger and Wonderwall, all pulled from their second album, and (What's the Story) Morning Glory?, the biggest-selling record in Britain in the 1990s. "Thank you for putting up with us over the years," Liam said. Adam Williams, 42, from Wrexham, North Wales, last saw the band in 2008. "They were probably better than they were then," he said. Oasis had announced the shows nearly a year ago, setting off a frenzy for tickets. "The thing that makes the Oasis reunion special is the thing that makes any reunion special: It has to be something that people really want and something that people thought they'd never see. And Oasis ticks both those boxes," music journalist Mark Sutherland said. Fans started to gather early outside the stadium, where official Adidas-Oasis football shirts were on sale for 85 pounds ($116 or Dh426). "They're more than a band, it's almost like a movement," said Matt Hobman, 48. "It's like a piece of Britishness." The Gallaghers were joined by original member Paul "Bonehead" Arthurs, as well as Gem Archer, Andy Bell and Joey Waronker on stage. Many fans waited for hours in online queues to buy tickets last year, only to find prices had jumped when they eventually had a chance to get them. Britain's competition watchdog launched an investigation into Ticketmaster over the sale, including the use of "dynamic pricing" to hike the cost to fans at the last minute. "Are you having a good time?" Liam asked the crowd. "Was it worth the 40,000 pounds you paid for the ticket?" Oasis play one more show in Cardiff, before the tour moves to the Gallaghers' home city of Manchester. It continues in Britain and Ireland, followed by shows across North and South America, Asia and Australia.
