Musk lashes out at tax bill supporters, threatens to unseat lawmakers

Elon Musk once again threatened to ramp up his political spending, this time targeting nearly every sitting Republican in Congress who has signaled support for President Donald Trump 's multi-trillion dollar tax bill.
'Every member of Congress who campaigned on reducing government spending and then immediately voted for the biggest debt increase in history should hang their head in shame!' Musk posted on his social media platform X. 'And they will lose their primary next year if it's the last thing I do on this Earth.'
But earlier this month, shortly after leaving his formal government role as an adviser to Trump, the billionaire lambasted the president's signature tax and spending deal in a series of posts that sparked an online feud and an explosive, hours-long public meltdown between the two men.

Over the weekend, Musk warned that the proposed cuts to electric vehicle and other clean energy credits would be 'incredibly destructive' to the country, destroying millions of US jobs and giving 'handouts to industries of the past while severely damaging industries of the future.'
'I haven't spoken to him much, but I think Elon is a wonderful guy, and I know he's going to do well always,' Trump said on Fox News's Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo, which aired Sunday but was recorded on Friday before the billionaire's most recent posts. 'But he got a little bit upset, and you know that wasn't appropriate.'

'This ruling is a setback for users, as it misunderstands services that are critical to the security, performance, and reliability of Android devices,' Google's José Castañeda was quoted by Bloomberg as saying. Castañeda further noted that the transfers discussed in the case are necessary to maintain the performance of billions of Android devices worldwide and that they consume less cellular data than sending a single photo. He stated that Android users consent to such transfers through multiple terms of use agreements and device setting options. Notably, this case is only one of several legal challenges facing the search giant in its home country. Last year, a federal judge ruled in favour of the United States government in its anti-monopoly case against Google. The Department of Justice has argued that Google's monopoly can be ended by breaking up its different products, including Chrome browser, Search and Android.

Trump suggested DOGE should take a look at cutting the subsidies that Tesla CEO Elon Musk's companies have received to save the Federal government money. The berating from the US President came after Tesla chief Elon Musk threatened to launch the 'America Party' if Trump backed 'Big Beautiful Bill' was passed by the US Senate. Trump launched a fiery tirade against tech billionaire Elon Musk, accusing him of benefiting from massive US government subsidies while attacking the electric vehicle (EV) mandate. In a characteristically unfiltered social media post, Trump claimed that Musk 'may get more subsidy than any human being in history, by far,' and suggested that without such government support, Musk would be forced to 'close up shop and head back home to South Africa.' The remarks come despite Musk having previously endorsed Donald Trump's Presidential bid, a point the US President addressed directly: 'Elon Musk knew, long before he so strongly endorsed me for President, that I was strongly against the EV mandate. Food For Thought: TG govt to issue 2 lakh new ration cards soon
Hyderabad: With some 2 lakh new beneficiaries being added to PDS, the new ration cards are all set to be distributed by CM Revanth Reddy within the next fortnight. Over 2 lakh new ration cards will be issued during this first phase. The list of eligible beneficiaries has already been finalised after thorough verification of the applications received through MeeSeva centers and the recent Praja Palana program. The number of beneficiaries of ration cards in the state has reached 2.93 crore so far and the number of cards has crossed 90 lakh. About 2.50 lakh applications have been received by authorities for new cards across the state through Prajapalana, Gram Sabhas, Prajavani and Meeseva, besides 8.10 lakh applications for adding the names of existing cards with new family members, informed official sources. This marks a significant step, as no new ration cards had been issued in the state for several years. Following the formation of the Congress-led government, a cabinet sub-committee was formed to formulate the criteria and procedures for issuing new ration cards. The state government had also invited applications to add family members to existing cards and ensured that all requests were filtered through strict eligibility checks. In a modernization effort, the government is planning to issue Smart Ration Cards this time. CM Revanth Reddy had earlier announced this move in a public meeting, stating that the cards would feature barcodes for easy access and advanced digital features. The smart cards will resemble ATM cards in size and design. One side of the card will feature a photograph of CM Revanth Reddy and the Civil Supplies Minister, while the center of the card will display the Telangana government logo. The final design has reportedly been approved and is expected to be unveiled soon. The card aims to make transactions smoother, reduce fraud, and improve transparency in the Public Distribution System.
