Gold prices slipped from 5-week highs, and silver prices also plunged from nearly 14-year highs. However, a weak dollar index and dovish comments from the FOMC members are supporting precious metals. The US Dollar Index, DXY, was hovering near the 97.26 mark, gaining 0.04 or 0.04% on Thursday.'We expect gold and silver prices to remain volatile this week amid volatility in the global financial markets and ahead of the ECB monetary policy meetings, but gold prices could hold their support level of $3,280 per troy ounce and silver prices could also hold $36.40 per troy ounce levels on a weekly closing basis,' he added.Manoj Kumar Jain suggested the following ranges for gold and silver on MCX:Jain suggests buying silver on dips around Rs 1,15,000-1,14,400 with a stop loss of Rs 1,13,300 for a target of Rs 1,16,200-1,17,400.Standard gold (22 carat) prices in Delhi stand at Rs 58,144/8 grams while pure gold (24 carat) prices stand at Rs 62,032/8 grams.Standard gold (22 carat) prices in Mumbai stand at Rs 57,504/8 grams while pure gold (24 carat) prices stand at Rs 61,312/8 grams.Standard gold (22 carat) prices in Chennai stand at Rs 56,928/8 grams while pure gold (24 carat) prices stand at Rs 60,680/8 grams.Standard gold (22 carat) prices in Hyderabad stand at Rs 56,904/8 grams while pure gold (24 carat) prices stand at Rs 60,664/8 grams.(Disclaimer: Recommendations, suggestions, views and opinions given by the experts are their own. Overnight rates dip as government spends boost bank liquidity

Mumbai: Overnight money market rates fell on Monday on improvement in the banking system liquidity surplus, led by month-end spending by the government, bank treasury dealers said. ADVERTISEMENT The weighted average call rate (WACR), which acts as the operative rate for monetary policy transmission, closed at 5.35% compared to previous close of 5.39%, while TREPS (tri-party repo dealing system) rate fell from 5.32% to 5.26%, close to the lower end of the liquidity adjustment facility (LAF). Bank treasury officials said that month-end spending by the government, in the form of payments to pensioners, contractors, and even salaries to employees, is expected to add to the liquidity surplus this week. Liquidity surplus in the banking system currently stands at ₹2.48 lakh crore, close to the central bank's target of 1% of NDTL (net demand and time liabilities). The central bank aims to keep overnight rates within the LAF corridor, which has the marginal standing facility (MSF) rate, currently at 5.75%, as its upper bound (ceiling) and the SDF rate, currently at 5.25%, as the lower bound (floor). The policy repo rate of 5.50% sits in the middle of the corridor. State spending-driven flows are revolving in nature and add to liquidity surplus. However, the surplus drains out once the monthly GST and other tax payments start in the middle of the month. (You can now subscribe to our ETMarkets WhatsApp channel)

Is Aditya Infotech's IPO a risky bet for investors in a competitive market?

Agencies Live Events (You can now subscribe to our (You can now subscribe to our ETMarkets WhatsApp channel ET Intelligence Group: Aditya Infotech , a security and surveillance products manufacturer, plans to raise ₹500 crore through fresh equity to partly repay debt and another ₹800 crore through offer for promoter stake will fall to 77% after the IPO from 95%. The standardisation testing and quality certification (STQC) norms, which came into effect in April 2025, will affect the sale of products from Chinese companies in the internet protocol (IP) driven surveillance systems thereby increasing the addressable market opportunity for Indian this augurs well for Aditya, the extent of the benefit will take a few quarters to become clear. In addition, the company's Ebitda margin was in single digits, at 8-9% between FY23 and FY25. It indicates that the company operates in a highly competitive market. Given these factors, the IPO looks more suitable for long-term investors with high risk undertakes manufacturing and sales of its own products as well as trading of products of China-based Dahua Technology. Trading of Dahua products contributed 24.7% to revenue in FY25. This is expected to fall given the STQC norms . Trading margin is typically one-third of Aditya's own products margin. A lower trading contribution in revenue, therefore, may improve the Ebitda margin. Revenue grew 16.7% annually to ₹3,111.8 crore between FY23 and FY25. In July 2024, the company acquired control of its JV with Dixon technology in a share swap agreement with the PAT was boosted by ₹248.6 crore in FY25 as a gain on account of fair valuation of its stake in the JV, taking the total annual net profit to ₹351.4 debt was ₹231 crore in FY25 compared with ₹334.8 crore in the prior year. Net profit in FY25 includes a one-time fair value gain, which renders the trailing P/E multiple less effective. Profit before exceptional items and tax at ₹185.4 crore in FY25 was similar to ₹189.9 crore in FY24. Valuation based on FY24 numbers makes more sense. The FY24 P/E works out to be 68.7. The company does not have any listed peers.
