Burrows proud of ‘huge race' from Anmaat in Curragh cracker

The seven-year-old was in action for the first time this season as part of a particularly competitive renewal of the Group One prize.
He travelled beautifully through the race under Jim Crowley and only found Aidan O'Brien's Los Angeles too strong in the final strides to go down by half a length.
Burrows was delighted with the performance despite the defeat and is game for a rematch with a similar field, should conditions prove suitable in the Prince of Wales's Stakes at Royal Ascot or the Coral-Eclipse at Sandown.
'I'm so pleased with him, he ran a huge race and the lack of a run just told in the last quarter of a furlong,' said Burrows, speaking to Racing TV.
'The way he travelled and came through, I came here hoping that's what we'd see.
'He has his old enthusiasm and I think he's backed up his Champion Stakes win, people thought that might possibly be a bit of a fluke but he's just a bloody good horse.
'He's a seven-year-old now and he's harder to get fit, there's been a lack of rain at home and it's hard to get on the grass gallops, but I'm not making excuses.
'He's as fit as we've had him and it's the start of a long year, I know there'll be other days to look forward to and I look forward to taking him (Los Angeles) on again.
'If the ground is good at Royal Ascot then that would be our next port of call, we've got the Eclipse to think of as well. He's got a few options.'
