Fans of music ephemera and pop culture collectibles just got access to a goldmine.
The big picture: Longtime Chicago musician and producer Steve Albini 's collection of records, T-shirts, books and "mystery bargains" are for sale with proceeds going to Albini's estate.
Flashback: Albini died suddenly last May at the age of 61.
He famously recorded Nirvana's "In Utero" album, as well as the Pixies and PJ Harvey, and fronted the Chicago bands Big Black and Shellac.
State of play: The first 300-400 items dropped Friday, and nearly all sold out. Each week 100-200 more items of "the unusual, the rare, the weird and the overlooked" will be available, according to the website.
"Det som engang var," an album by the Norwegian black metal solo project Burzum is still available with a list price of $1,500.
All items purchased are accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from the collection's administrator, Byron Coley.
What they're saying:"Steve pursued many fields of interest, and most of them are represented somewhere in his collections," according to the website.

13 Scenes That Made Older Songs Go Viral Again

Sometimes, all it takes is one unforgettable scene to breathe new life into a song you forgot even existed. Whether it's a '90s banger climbing the charts again, or a deep cut getting the spotlight it rightfully deserves, these 12 songs shot up in popularity thanks to the magic of soundtracks and pop culture. "Murder on the Dancefloor" by Sophie Ellis-Bextor dropped in 2001. Over two decades later, it went viral all over again in 2023 after Saltburn's release! "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go" by Wham! was first released in 1984. But it popped off again in 2001, thanks to Zoolander! "Running Up That Hill" by Kate Bush came out in 1985. Nearly 40 years later, it climbed the charts again thanks to Stranger Things's season 4 episode, "Dear Billy" (2022). "Something In The Way" by Nirvana quietly existed on Nevermind since 1991. But when The Batman dropped in 2022, it hit a whole new audience. "Poison" by Bell Bib DeVoe was an early '90s R&B staple. But Turk's dance routine on Scrubs's Season 5 episode "My Half-Acre" made it an instant internet classic in 2006. "A Thousand Miles" by Vanessa Carlton was already a hit in 2002. Then White Chicks came along in 2004 and turned it into comedy gold. "Left Hand Free" by alt-J originally came out in 2014. But it didn't really catch fire until Outer Banks made it a Pogue anthem in 2020. "Chasing Cars" by Snow Patrol debuted in 2006. But it's Grey's Anatomy's heartbreaking Season 2 finale "Losing My Religion" that propelled it into stardom in "Tiny Dancer" by Elton John was released in 1971. It found a whole new audience in 2000 after Almost Famous made it an iconic pop culture moment. "Long Long Time" by Linda Ronstadt quietly broke hearts in 1970. But it shattered all of ours again in 2023 in The Last of Us's Season 1 episode, "Long Long Time." "Pony" by Ginuwine was already steamy when it dropped in 1996. Then Magic Mike took it to a whole new level in 2012. "All I Want For Christmas" by Mariah Carey took over the holidays in 1994. But Love Actually helped turn it into a rom-com Christmas special in 2003. It's wild how one perfect song in one perfect scene can flip a switch. Whether it made you cry, dance, or immediately open a music streaming platform, these moments prove that a great track can still make its mark many many years later. Norwegian royal, 22, comes out as bisexual at Pride parade with support from mom Princess Märtha Louise

A young royal has become the first member of the Norwegian royal family to publicly come out as queer. Maud Angelica Behn, the eldest daughter of Princess Märtha Louise, attended Oslo's Pride Parade over the weekend where she decided to share the news. Taking to Instagram following the event, Behn shared a series of photos on social media in which she's dressed in various colors — likely mirroring the rainbow Pride flag. 6 Maud Angelica Behn has become the first member of the Norwegian royal family to publicly come out as queer. Instagram / @maud_angelica_behn 'Happy Pride from a bisexual person,' she captioned her Instagram post. 'This year's Pride was absolutely amazing and there was so much love.' Her mother, Princess Märtha Louise, also made sure that her support was noted, as she attended Norway's largest LGBTIQ+ festival with her second husband, American shaman Durek Verrett. The royal, who also has daughters Leah Isadora and Emma Tallulah with her first husband Ari Behn, who died by suicide in 2019, took to social media to share a sweet message about her daughter's announcement. 'Love is never wrong. This Pride Month, I want to honor the courage it takes to live your truth,' Märtha Louise wrote on Instagram alongside photos and videos from the parade. 6 Princess Märtha Louise joined her daughter at Norway's largest LGBTIQ+ festival. Instagram / @iam_marthalouise 'During Pride I see a deep capacity for love — love that doesn't ask for permission or explanation. There's something profoundly beautiful about daring to love who you love, even when the world tells you to be quiet, to shrink, or to hide.' 'But love isn't meant to be hidden. It's meant to be celebrated, lived, and shared in all its wonderful forms,' she went on. 'Pride is not just about identity. It's about freedom. It's about the bravery to be fully yourself in a world that often doesn't make that easy.' 6 Behn attended Oslo's Pride parade over the weekend. Instagram / @maud_angelica_behn 'To everyone out there still trying to find the words or the courage: You are seen, you are loved, and you never have to apologize for who you are. 🏳️‍🌈 Happy Pride,' the princess concluded. Märtha Louise, for her part, made headlines last year after tying the knot with the American self-professed shaman in a wedding ceremony following three days of festivities. The princess wed Verrett, who claims to be a sixth-generation shaman from California, in the small town of Geiranger. The location is prized for its typical Norwegian scenery among mountains and fjords. 6 The princess attended the parade with her second husband, American shaman Durek Verrett. The Norwegian princess can trace her ancestry back to Britain's Queen Victoria. The couple, who toured the country in 2019 as 'The Princess and The Shaman,' have created waves in Norway with their alternative beliefs. 6 Maud is the eldest daughter of Princess Märtha Louise and her late first husband, Ari Behn. Dave Grohl Makes Surprise Appearance To Perform With ‘80s Rock Legend

Dave Grohl Makes Surprise Appearance To Perform With '80s Rock Legend originally appeared on Parade. Someone get Rockapella to record 'Where In The World Is Dave Grohl,' because the Foo Fighters frontman is putting Carmen Sandiego to shame. And his latest random appearance occurred thanks to indie rock icon Kim Deal. Since Grohl, 56, admitted in September 2024 that he fathered a child outside of his marriage to Jordyn Blum, he's made some surprise appearances here and there. He played with Post Malone at the SNL 50th Anniversary concert in March. Dave showed up at Coachella in April, joining the Los Angeles Philharmonic to perform two Foo Fighters songs. Also that month, he played at Oakwood Live, a school benefit in Los Angeles. His latest appearance took place in London when Grohl joined the former Pixies bassist during her show at the Roundhouse on June 20. Deal, 64, brought out Grohl, who told her, 'I'll sing whatever you ask me to sing. I'll do whatever you ask me to do.' They then launched into 'Gigantic,' a song that the two have played together a handful of times over the year, per Consequence. Deal is touring in support of her debut solo album, Nobody Loves You More. Grohl's appearance at Deal's London show adds fuel to an ongoing fan theory: he is going to be a 'surprise' performer at this year's Glastonbury festival. Fans began to speculate about Grohl's involvement on Jun 18 when controversial singer Amanda Palmer posted a photo of her alongside him. 'Well I'll be damned. Not who I expected to run into backstage at the [Yeah Yeah Yeahs] show at @royalalberthall in London tonight,' she wrote. Fans on Reddit speculated that Grohl may make an appearance during Alanis Morissette's set as a tribute to the late Taylor Hawkins. Before he joined the Foos in 1997, Hawkins was Morissette's drummer, appearing in videos for 'You Oughta Know,' 'All I Really Want,' and 'You Learn.' As of June, the Foo Fighters only have a handful of shows scheduled for 2025. In May, the band fired drummerJosh Freese, who says 'no reason was given' for his dismissal. The band hasn't announced Freese's Grohl Makes Surprise Appearance To Perform With '80s Rock Legend first appeared on Parade on Jun 23, 2025 This story was originally reported by Parade on Jun 23, 2025, where it first appeared.
