China reiterates unwavering support for Pakistan
China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi has reiterated his country's unwavering support for Pakistan's efforts to combat all forms of terrorism and expressed confidence in the Pakistani military's continued role in ensuring safety and security of Chinese personnel, projects, and institu-tions across Pakistan.
The reaffirmation came during a high-level meeting between General Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan, and Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Director of the Office of the Central Commission for For-eign Affairs, held in Beijing on Thursday.
Congratulating General Munir on his recent elevation to the rank of Field Marshal, Wang Yi lauded Pakistan Army as a steadfast guardian of na-tional sovereignty and a strong pillar of the enduring China-Pakistan friendship. He expressed full confidence in the continued role of the Pa-kistani armed forces in advancing the strategic partnership between the two nations.
Describing China and Pakistan as "ironclad friends" and "all-weather strategic partners," Wang emphasized that Pakistan remains a diplomat-ic priority for China. He affirmed China's readiness to work closely with Pakistan to implement the strategic consensus reached by the leader-ship of both countries, deepen bilateral cooperation, and jointly promote peace and stability in the region.
General Munir, in turn, reaffirmed Pakistan's deep appreciation for Chi-na's long-standing and consistent support toward its socio-economic de-velopment. He reiterated the Pakistani military's firm commitment to en-suring the safety and security of Chinese nationals and enterprises in Pakistan. He also emphasized Pakistan's resolve to strengthen counter-terrorism cooperation with China as part of their shared vision for region-al peace and prosperity.
Both sides exchanged views on key regional and international develop-ments and agreed to continue close coordination on matters of mutual concern.

CCL Holding submits public intention to acquire over 26% stake in Mitchells Fruit Farms
CCL Holding (Pvt.) Limited has submitted a public announcement of intention (PAI) to acquire up to 26.26% of Mitchell's Fruit Farms Limited (MFFL), one of Pakistan's oldest listed FMCG companies. This includes 40.63% acquired from Mitchell's sponsors through a Share Purchase Agreement (SPA) dated May 14, 2025, at Rs180 per share, and an additional 6.85% purchased on July 23, 2025, from institutional and family shareholders, including the Babar Ali Foundation—founded by the company's Chairman, Syed Babar Ali—and IGI Investments (Private) Limited, via a negotiated deal at the higher rate of Rs232.75 per share. With this offer, CCL Holding aims to increase its total shareholding in Mitchell's to over 73%. CCL Holding is a holding company of a wholly-owned subsidiary, CCL Pharmaceuticals (Pvt) Limited, which is principally engaged in the manufacturing and marketing of branded generic pharmaceuticals and consumer health products. Meanwhile, Mitchell's Fruit Farms Limited, a Pakistani manufacturer of farm and confectionery products, has a history that dates back to 1933. After Independence, the company's name was changed from Indian Mildura Fruit Farms to Mitchells Fruit Farms Limited. The company went public in 1993 and was listed on the stock exchange in 1996. The principal activity of the company is the manufacturing and sales of various farm and confectionary products, including beverages, ketchups and sauces, preserves, ready-to-cook and ready-to-eat food range, etc.

Alibaba to launch AI glasses in bid to rival Meta
Chinese tech conglomerate Alibaba has announced its entry into the wearable technology market with the upcoming launch of its first smart glasses, powered by the company's in-house artificial intelligence platforms. Named the Quark AI Glasses, the device is set to debut in China by the end of 2025 and will be backed by Alibaba's Qwen large language model and its intelligent assistant, Quark. TTP terrorist 'behind Chinese engineers attack' killed in Karachi operation
Listen to article Three terrorists from banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), including one allegedly involved in last year's attack on Chinese engineers, were killed in a joint operation by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and intelligence agencies in Karachi's Manghopir area late Sunday night. On 5 November 2024, a private security guard at a textile mill in Karachi opened fire and seriously injured two Chinese nationals. According to police, deceased suspect, identified as Zafran, had a Rs20 million bounty on him and was accused of involvement in the 2024 Liberty Textile attack targetting Chinese nationals. He was also linked to the Karachi Police Office (KPO) assault. He emphasised that the protection of Chinese nationals remained a top priority, especially given ongoing China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects, vital to the bilateral relationship between the two countries. Police said terrorists opened fire when they spotted them approaching, triggering a gunfight that lasted over an hour. All three suspected terrorists were killed, said police, adding that a fully assembled suicide jacket, three grenades, a Kalashnikov rifle, two pistols and a large cache of ammunition were recovered from the site. Moreover, police found a diary which listed two to three high-value prospective targets. The second deceased suspect was identified as Qudratullah and the third's identity is yet to be confirmed. The CTD chief said the three slain suspected terrorists belonged to TTP cell dispatched from Afghanistan. Intelligence officials had been surveilling the cell for several days, he added. Khattab further added that the TTP cell in question is believed to have five members but only three were present at the safehouse during the raid. A search operation in the area and further investigation are under way.
