Pakistan to send diplomatic delegation abroad to counter India's global outreach
The decision was made by Mr. Sharif on Saturday (May 17, 2025) after a telephone conversation with former Foreign Minister and head of the Pakistan People's Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, according to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO). Pakistan's decision to send its delegation came hours after India announced that it would send seven all-party delegations to key partner countries, including members of the UN Security Council, later this month, to convey India's message of zero tolerance against terrorism following the Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor.
Mr. Shehbaz 'decided to send a high-level diplomatic delegation to important world capitals to expose Indian propaganda', the state-run Radio Pakistan reported.
He has entrusted the leadership of the delegation to Mr. Bhutto Zardari.
'I was contacted earlier today by Prime Minister [Shehbaz Sharif], who requested that I lead a delegation to present Pakistan's case for peace on the international stage. I am honoured to accept this responsibility and remain committed to serving Pakistan in these challenging times,' Mr. Bhutto Zardari posted on social media platform X on Saturday (May 17, 2025).
Apart from Mr. Bhutto Zardari, the delegation will include Energy Minister Musadik Malik, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Khurram Dastgir Khan, Senator Sherry Rehman, former Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar, Muttahida Qaumi Movement lawmaker Faisal Subzwari, and former Foreign Secretaries Tehmina Janjua and Jalil Abbas Jilani.
The delegation will also 'underscore Pakistan's sincere efforts for peace and stability in the region,' according to the PMO.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said the delegation would soon visit the United States, the U.K., Brussels, France, and Russia to highlight Pakistan's stance on the recent conflict.
India and Pakistan reached an understanding on May 10 to end the conflict after four days of intense cross-border drone and missile strikes.

India Won't Spare Anyone Who Attacks The Nation, Even In Pataal Lok: PM Modi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday delivered a stern message to Pakistan, declaring that India will not spare anyone who dares to attack the nation, even if they are hiding in the depths of "Pataal Lok." Addressing a public rally in his parliamentary constituency, Varanasi, the Prime Minister Modi said "When there is injustice and terror in front, Mahadev adorns his 'Rudra roop'. The world saw this face of India during Operation Sindoor. Anyone who messes with India will not be spared even in 'pataal lok'. Unfortunately, some people do not like the success of Operation Sindoor." Targeting the Opposition for questioning the success of 'Operation Sindoor', Prime Minister Modi said that some people in our own country are unable to digest its success. "Some people in our own country are not able to digest the success of 'Operation Sindoor'. The Congress and its ecosystem are upset that India destroyed Pakistan's terror camps. I ask you -- are you proud of Operation Sindoor? Did you see how our missiles and drones dismantled the terror bases with precision? Pakistan's airbases are still in the ICU," PM Modi said.

Calling Operation Sindoor Tamasha An Insult To Forces: PM Modi Slams Opposition
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday criticised the Congress party and the Samajwadi Party (SP) for their reactions to the Army's 'Operation Sindoor', carried out in retaliation for the Phagwara terror attack. The Prime Minister hits out at the grand old party for calling Operation Sindoor a "tamasha". Addressing a public rally in Varanasi, PM Modi said, "Everyone understands that Pakistan is upset. But Congress and the Samajwadi Party cannot handle the pain that Pakistan is going through. Pakistan is crying, and here, Congress and SP are crying, seeing the condition of the terrorists. He condemned Congress for allegedly referring to 'Operation Sindoor' as a 'tamasha' and claimed it was a clear insult to the armed forces. Modi added, "Congress is constantly insulting the valour of our forces. Congress has called Operation Sindoor a 'tamasha'..." While aiming at the Samajwadi Party, the Prime Minister questioned their remarks about the timing of the operation in Pahalgam, "Should I call and ask them before taking any action? Anyone with common sense should be able to answer, do we need to wait to kill terrorists? Should we have given them a chance to flee?"

Modi govt upset as these two Muslim countries were included in SCO summit, they were once India's friend, names are... India has strongly objected to the participation of Pakistan's allies in the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit to be held in Tianjin, China. Heads of 20 countries from around the world may participate in this summit to be held in early September. According to reports, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Narendra Modi may also visit Tianjin. According to a report in the Economic Times, before the summit, India has made it clear that the presence of Turkey and Azerbaijan who sided with Pakistan during Operation SIndoor and were seen supporting terrorism may undermine the objectives of the SCO. What is the fault of these two countries? In fact, after the Pakistan-sponsored terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22, Turkey and Azerbaijan started showing brotherhood with Pakistan. While on one hand the rest of the Muslim countries also condemned the terrorist attack and adopted a balanced stance on Operation Sindoor, Turkey and Azerbaijan openly supported Pakistan. Even during Operation Sindoor, Pakistan was using drones made in Turkey to attack India. At the same time, Azerbaijan was fully supporting Pakistan politically. Azerbaijan was also maintaining brotherhood with Pakistan because Pakistan supports Azerbaijan in its war with Armenia. Pakistan has not even recognized Armenia as a country. In such a situation, Pakistan's policy in the case of Azerbaijan and Armenia has been one-sided. There is a dispute between Azerbaijan and Armenia over the Nagorno-Karabakh region. On the one hand, India is adopting a balanced attitude on this issue, while Pakistan supports Azerbaijan one-sidedly. Talking about trade relations, relations between India and Azerbaijan are also good. However, in terms of political support, Azerbaijan supported Pakistan. One reason for this is also the closeness between Azerbaijan and Turkey. What is SCO summit? The Shanghai Cooperation Organization has 10 full members. It was formed in 2001 in China itself. It earlier included Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan. In 2017, India and Pakistan also joined this organization. In 2021, Iran was also given full member status in the organization. Belarus has been included in the organisation as the 10th full member. This time, China has invited Turkey, Azerbaijan, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Armenia, Egypt, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Maldives, Myanmar, Bahrain and UAE as dialogue partners. What is India's stance? Last month, when External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar visited China, he had clearly said during the SCO meeting that countries supporting terrorism will have to be sidelined. He had said that the purpose behind the Pahalgam attack was to harm the tourism economy of Jammu and Kashmir and create hatred between Hindus and Muslims. He had said that the SCO countries will have to jointly fight terrorism, separatism and radicalism.
