The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Warns Israel Against Any Attack

Khaberni22-05-2025
Khaberni -
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated on Thursday that Israel would face "a devastating and decisive response" if it attacked Iran, days after CNN reported that US intelligence indicates Israel is preparing to strike Iranian nuclear facilities.
Official media quoted the spokesperson of the Revolutionary Guard, Ali Mohammad Naeini, saying, "They try to scare us with war, but their calculations are wrong as they underestimate the strong public and military support that Iran can mobilize in war conditions."
Tehran and Washington will hold a fifth round of nuclear talks on Friday in Rome amid sharp disputes over uranium enrichment in Iran, which the United States says could lead to the development of nuclear bombs, a claim Iran denies.
CNN, citing intelligence officials, added that it is still unclear whether Israeli leaders have made a final decision, indicating a difference of opinion within the American government on whether the Israelis will ultimately decide to carry out the strikes.
Diplomats say that the collapse of the US-Iran negotiations, or reaching a new nuclear agreement, does not diminish Israel's concerns about Iran developing nuclear weapons, which may prompt Israel to strike against its regional rival.
According to official media, the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ali Khamenei, described on Tuesday the US demands to stop uranium enrichment as "exaggerated and irritating," expressing his doubts about the success of the talks on a new nuclear deal.
Tehran says its nuclear program is intended solely for civilian purposes.

Jordan condemns ‘Israeli' Knesset vote backing West Bank sovereignty

Jordan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates strongly condemned the 'Israeli' Knesset's vote in favor of a statement supporting 'Israeli' sovereignty over the occupied West Bank and Jordan Valley, calling it a blatant violation of international law and a serious undermining of the two-state solution. In a statement, the ministry said the move poses a direct threat to the Palestinian people's right to establish an independent, sovereign state on the 1967 borders with occupied Jerusalem as its capital, reaffirming that 'Israel' has no sovereignty over the occupied Palestinian territories. Ministry spokesperson Ambassador Sufian Qudah reiterated Jordan's firm rejection of all 'Israeli' attempts to impose control over the West Bank, describing such actions as a clear breach of international law and UN Security Council resolutions, particularly Resolution 2334, which denounces all measures aimed at altering the demographic composition, character, and status of the occupied Palestinian territories since 1967, including East Jerusalem. Qudah also pointed to the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice, which confirmed the illegality of the 'Israeli' occupation, adding that settlement construction and annexation efforts in the West Bank are null and void under international law.

Macrons sue Candace Owens over claim France's first lady was born male

French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte filed a defamation lawsuit in the US on Wednesday against American influencer Candace Owens for widely spreading false claims that the First Lady "was born male." Such conspiracy theories have periodically circulated on French social media since Macron's 2017 election but gained international traction after Owens released a video series titled 'Becoming Brigitte' starting in January 2025. The content was first teased in March 2024 and has since gone viral, particularly in the United States. According to Agence France-Presse, the Macrons filed the suit in Delaware, seeking an unspecified amount in damages. Their legal team argued that Owens knowingly spread disinformation for fame and profit, refusing all requests to retract her statements. Owens has 6.9 million followers on X and 4.7 million subscribers on YouTube. The lawsuit claims Owens launched a defamatory campaign based on debunked conspiracy theories, alleging that Brigitte Macron, née Trogneux, did not exist before her brother Jean-Michel assumed her identity after a gender transition. In France, similar claims led to a legal case in 2022 against Natacha Rey and Amandine Roy, who were ordered to pay thousands of euros in damages, though they were acquitted on appeal this July. Brigitte Macron and her brother are currently appealing that decision.
