The iconic television show 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi' has clocked 25 years since its release. The show, which was released on July 3, 2000, became a part of Indian households, hearts, and everyday lives.
In a way, the show triggered some landslide changes in the Indian entertainment industry. With the dot com bubble bursting, Hindi television brought upon a new dawn with the saas-bahu content, put in motion by 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi' and 'Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii'.
Talking about the special occasion, Smriti Irani, who moved from acting to politics, said, ''Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi' isn't just a show, it's a shared memory. For those who created it and the millions who embraced it, it was a story of families, faith, and the fabric that binds us across generations. Twenty-five years later, it still lives in our hearts. My gratitude to those who made the journey possible'.
Actor Amar Upadhyay said, 'Twenty-five years ago, we began a journey that was more than just a show, it was a mirror to millions of households, a reflection of traditions, love, trials, and the changing face of Indian families. Being a part of 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi' wasn't just a role, it was a responsibility, a privilege, and a turning point not just for me, but for everyone who lived and breathed this world with us. It changed our lives, rewrote television history, and connected generations. Even today, its echoes live on in how we see relationships, resilience, and reinvention'.
Producer Ektaa Kapoor shared, ''Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi' still lives in every beat of my heart. When we started, we never imagined Tulsi would become a family to millions. Even today, people remember the title track, the tears, and the emotions it sparked. This milestone belongs to every writer, actor, crew member, and — most of all — every viewer who made Kyunki part of their lives. Thank you for turning a story into a legacy, for making Tulsi and the Virani parivaar your own, and for keeping this emotion alive even 25 years later. We didn't just make a show — we created a bond that still feels like home.'
The show was initially written by Anand Gandhi, who went on to direct the arthouse drama 'Ship of Theseus' and produced the visual extravaganza 'Tumbbad'. 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi' was produced by Balaji Telefilms, and conceptualised by Ektaa Kapoor. There has been a buzz around the show's reboot for a new spell.

Though he couldn't meet Jaiswal during the Headingley Test, his dream was fulfilled on Saturday in Birmingham. The BCCI captured the beautiful moment in a video shared across their social platforms one that has since gone viral for all the right reasons. 'I Don't Know Why I'm Nervous to Meet You': Jaiswal In the video, a visibly touched Jaiswal greeted Ravi with humility and warmth. Hello Ravi, how are you? I am Yashasvi, nice to meet you. I was really excited to meet you because I know that you have been a big fan of cricket and actually I don't know why I am nervous to meet you, said Jaiswal. I can't wait to have your bat because you are a brilliant cricketer. I think you are the future of Indian cricket. I love cricket, I love watching you bat. I loved your centuries, they were brilliant. On your day you can score big centuries,' Ravi told Jaiswal. Ranbir Kapoor's onscreen mother from Ramayana says he never showed any starry attitude on set: ‘I did Animal with him, he recommended me'

Indira Krishnan, best known for starring in television shows like Manzilein Apani Apani (2001), Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii (2005), and Yeh Hai Chahatein (2019-22), will be next seen on the big screen as Kausalya, the mother of Lord Ram, played by Ranbir Kapoor, in Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana. Indira has previously worked with Ranbir in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's 2023 blockbuster family crime drama Animal, in which she played his love interest Rashmika Mandanna's mother. In an interview with Zoom, she said, 'When I first went to the Ramayana set, I thought people would look down upon me because I'm a TV actor. But I was very shocked! Ranbir Kapoor approached me and said, 'Hi Indira.'' Indira Krishnan further revealed Ranbir Kapoor had recommended her name to Nitesh Tiwari for Kausalya since they'd already worked together in Animal. Indira said, 'He is a very grounded person and never shows any starry attitude on the set. From spot boys to his co-stars, he behaves politely with everyone. I have learnt one thing from Ranbir: Give respect, take respect.' 'I have worked in television for many years. I have witnessed many actors showing their arrogant nature on the set. I have suffered a lot. I have seen heroes and heroines coming late on the show while I would sit and wait for them. Ranbir Kapoor respects his work a lot. I learned from him that if you respect your work, people will respect you,' she added. The makers of Ramayana, billed as an ambitious cinematic event, last week unveiled the first glimpse of the upcoming mythological epic, featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Yash and Sai Pallavi in the lead roles. Produced by Namit Malhotra's Prime Focus Studios and DNEG, in association with Yash's Monster Mind Creations, the film is a two-part live-action saga set 5,000 years ago and rooted in one of Indian mythology's most enduring epics. The first part is slated to release worldwide in IMAX during Diwali 2026, with part two following on Diwali 2027. Ramayana features KGF star Yash as Ravana, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman. The film's crew includes renowned international artistes, including Oscar-winning composers Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman, who are collaborating on the score. As part of the global reveal, titled 'Ramayana: The Introduction', fan screenings were held across nine Indian cities, alongside a striking billboard takeover in New York City's Times Square.
