
SEWA launches new phase of home rationalization initiative
This initiative is part of a wider effort to enhance the living standards of families, reduce their utility bills, and support sustainable development. This aligns with a recent declaration from UAE President His Highness Sheikh
Al Shamsi also mentioned that SEWA is eager to reach more families through the Home Rationalization Initiative, which was established under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. The program aims to upgrade homes with modern technologies that conserve electricity and water, resulting in lower utility bills and a positive impact on resource usage.
Rashid Al Marzouqi, the Director of the Media and Communications Department at SEWA, shared that the authority is committed to providing the latest technologies to help families use less energy and water. They will also educate these families on how to effectively use and care for energy-saving devices. The progress of the initiative will be regularly assessed to ensure it meets its goals.
Al Marzouqi explained that previous phases of this initiative have already benefited more than 6,353 homes. He discussed plans for this new phase, which aims to support 7,677 families eligible for financial assistance due to inflation.
The authority continues to work collaboratively to provide support for all communities, with the goal of protecting the environment, ensuring our natural resources are sustainable, and promoting best practices for conservation and responsible living to minimize waste.

Sharjah: Dh1-million project to supply electricity, water in residential area in Wadi Al Helo
Sharjah is implementing is executing the electricity and water distribution networks for Al-Muhtadi residential complex in the third phase of the Wadi Al Helo area. The initiative by Sharjah Electricity, Water, and Gas Authority (Sewa) includes the establishment of an 11 kV electricity distribution station, installation of five electrical distribution boxes, and the extension of medium-voltage cables spanning one kilometer and low-voltage cables extending 1,920 metres. The project is expected to be completed next month, with a total cost of Dh1,100,000. Engineer Youssef Al-Hamadi, Director of Khorfakkan at the Sharjah Electricity, Water, and Gas Authority, explained that the project aims to strengthen the electrical infrastructure in Al-Muhtadi, ensuring sustainable electrical services that meet the needs of residents and future projects. The project adheres to the highest standards of quality and safety. Additionally, the water network for the new Al-Muhtadi residential complex in Wadi Al Helo is being constructed to the highest specifications, utilising GRE pipes, which are among the best types available, with a cost of Dh232,154.
