Man kills friend, hides corpse in room, dumps it next day with father's help
Guddu, who runs a barber shop, bludgeoned his friend Rajeev (45), an electrician, with an iron rod over an argument at his house on Saturday night. The murder came to the fore after CCTV footage captured them transporting the body on a rickshaw.
After killing him, Guddu stuffed the body inside a bed storage box and spent the night in the same room. The next morning, he informed his father, Mehraj. Together, they transported the body on a rickshaw and dumped it in a garbage pile.
Deputy SP Sarvam Singh confirmed their arrest under relevant BNS sections after police identified the body and reviewed CCTV footage. Both have been sent to jail, Singh said.
Guddu admitted during interrogation that he and Rajeev were good friends and Rajeev often visited his shop, police said. His father went to Ahmedabad to meet brother, so the house was vacant. Guddu informed Rajeev that the house was empty and suggested they spend the night there. Both of them became drunk and started arguing over a trivial matter.

Pit Bull Bites Child Inside Auto-Rickshaw In Mumbai, Owner Laughs
In Mumbai's Mankhurd, Mohammad Sohail Hasan allegedly set his Pit Bull on 11-year-old Hamza, who was playing in a rickshaw. Hasan laughed during the attack. A case was filed. A disturbing incident unfolded in Mumbai's Mankhurd area when a 43-year-old man, identified as Mohammad Sohail Hasan, allegedly set his Pit Bull on an 11-year-old boy, intentionally unleashing the dog's aggression. The child, Hamza, was playing inside a parked auto-rickshaw when the attack occurred on July 17. A video capturing the incident shows the terrified boy cornered in the rickshaw as the Pit Bull bites him, while Khan laughs and fails to intervene, seemingly amused by the child's fright. He wasn't even holding on to the dog's leash. After a few seconds, the boy is heard screaming, and the dog leaps to bite his chin. He somehow manages to escape the vehicle even as the pitbull grabs his clothes. The dog's owner, instead of helping the child, keeps laughing as his pet runs after the boy, NDTV reported. The boy suffered injuries to his chin and was left shaken. 'The dog bit me. Then, I ran away. He even grabbed my clothes," said the victim, Hamza, on the attack on him. He also said that he pleaded with the dog's owner to help him, but he kept laughing. He further claimed that no one came forward to help him. 'They were just filming the attack," he said. Hamza said that he was 'very scared" after the attack. A case was filed by the police on Friday against the dog's owner, Hasan, based on the complaint by the father of the victim. As per the complaint, Hasan let go of his dog on the child who was playing inside a parked autorickshaw. The case has been registered under sections 291 (negligent abandonment of animals), 125 (causing simple hurt) and 125(A) of the Indian Penal Code (BNS). The accused has also been issued a notice under section 35(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). view comments First Published: July 20, 2025, 21:37 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. CBI books Delhi forest official, aide for taking bribe to ‘protect' temple from demolition
New Delhi: A Delhi government Deputy Forest Officer and a Forest Guard were booked by the CBI for demanding and taking Rs 95,000 bribe from a temple priest in exchange for shielding the premises from demolition in the Old Rajinder Nagar area of the Ridge. Rajesh Tandon, Deputy Forest Officer, and Ajay, Forest Guard, were named in an FIR by the federal agency on the complaint of Priest Lalit Narayan Jha, whose temple is situated on Sir Gangaram Hospital Road. In the FIR registered by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday, the two forest department employees were slapped with charges related to criminal conspiracy and demand of undue advantage by public servant. In his complaint dated July 16, Lalit Narayan said that around 4-5 days ago, the Deputy Forest Officer (DFO) told him that his temple was built on forest land and a complaint for its demolition had been received. Tandon demanded Rs 1 lakh bribe for not demolishing the temple and took Rs 30,000 from him on the same day, the complaint said. The priest said the DFO came again the next day and took another Rs 10,000 bribe. The complaint said that on July 15, a person who identified himself as Forest Guard Ajay had taken a bribe of Rs 55,000 and told the complainant to talk to Tandon for saving the temple structure from impending demolition. The priest said Tandon again met him and demanded Rs 60,000 bribe. As the complainant did not want to pay the bribe, he lodged the complaint on July 16, seeking action against DFO Rajesh Tandon and Forest Guard Ajay. A verification report prepared by the CBI before filing the FIR said, 'Verification prima facie revealed that Rajesh Tandon, DFO, has accepted undue advantage of Rs 40,000 from the complainant and now demanded illegal gratification/undue advantage of Rs 50,000 from the complainant Lalit Narayan Jha in lieu of not demolishing the temple.' The report said, 'It is also revealed from verification that Ajay, Forest Guard, has also accepted undue advantage of Rs 55,000 from the complainant. Therefore, it is recommended to register a regular case against Rajesh Tandon, DFO, and Ajay, Forest Guard, both of GNCT of Delhi, under sections 61 (2) of BNS-2023 (criminal conspiracy) read with section 7of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.'
