Elderly man held for allegedly raping girlfriend's daughter, 13
AMPANG: An elderly man and his girlfriend were arrested for allegedly raping her 13-year-old daughter last year.
Ampang district police chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Azam Ismail, said today that investigations revealed the victim's mother witnessed the incident.
He said the victim fled and lodged a police report after overhearing a conversation between her mother and the boyfriend.
"The conversation revealed that the boyfriend intended to rape the girl, and her mother allowed it.
"Further investigations found that the mother's boyfriend had raped the victim in 2024, and the act was witnessed by the mother."
Police arrested the victim's 36-year-old mother, a security guard, yesterday.
The woman's 61-year-old boyfriend, a trader, was also arrested the same day.
"Urine tests were negative for both suspects, and background checks showed no criminal records.
"The remand application for both suspects has been granted for seven days from yesterday to July 4 to assist in the investigation or committing rape under Section 376 of the Penal Code."

TAWAU: A dispute between two men believed to be under the influence of alcohol turned violent when one of them was stabbed outside a supermarket here yesterday afternoon. Earlier, a video of the incident went viral on social media, showing the victim lying on the ground with serious injuries. Several bystanders were seen surrounding him at the scene. The victim was later rushed to hospital for treatment.

Young suspects: The five MRSM students being remanded to assist in investigations over the bullying case in Kuala Terengganu. — Bernama KUALA TERENGGANU: Five students have been remanded to assist investigations in a bullying case at Mara Junior Science College (MRSM) in Besut. The three-day remand order, which expires tomorrow, was issued by Senior Assistant Registrar Yuhanis Mohd Roslan at the Magistrate's Court here yesterday. The five students, aged between 15 and 17, were remanded for investigation under Section 147 of the Penal Code, Bernama reported. Besut police chief Supt Azamuddin Ahmad @ Abu said a Form Two student lodged a report alleging he was bullied by several Form Three students around 11.30pm on Tuesday. In a statement on Thursday, he said the boy suffered pain in his abdomen and right rib, as well as bruises on his back. The incident was discovered by a dormitory warden who informed the victim's family.

Two foreigners detained for impersonating public servant and fighting in Selangor
KUALA LUMPUR: Police detained two foreign men yesterday for allegedly impersonating a public servant and engaging in a physical altercation at Jalan Dinar, Taman Subang Perdana, Kampung Baru Subang, Selangor. Sungai Buloh police chief Supt Mohd Hafiz Muhammad Nor said authorities received a distress call at 1.15 pm, prompting patrol officers to intervene. 'Upon arriving, officers arrested two foreign nationals, aged 26 and 32, suspected of involvement in the fight. One was found handcuffed inside a car,' he stated. Initial investigations revealed the dispute arose from a personal disagreement between the two individuals, who were reportedly friends. Police seized two Perodua cars and a pair of handcuffs from the scene. The case is being investigated under Section 160 (affray) and Section 170 (impersonating a public servant) of the Penal Code, as well as Section 89 of the Police Act 1967 for unlawful possession of police equipment.
