Arizona Cardinals to face many top QBs in final stretch of 2025 season
As NFL training camp approaches for most NFL teams (the Los Angeles Chargers reported on Saturday), sites continue to publish lists, rankings and predictions.
ESPN has been revealing player rankings at different positions, but with a twist. They are based on the votes of coaches, scouts and executives.
ESPN's Jeremy Fowler revealed the rankings for quarterbacks — the top 10 and a pair of honorable mentions.
Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray did not make the top 10 and did not receive honorable mention, but he did get top-10 votes.
The Cardinals avoid most of the league's top quarterbacks in 2025. They will face just three of the top 10, although they will face one twice. They will also face both honorable mention quarterbacks.

The Cardinals' schedule gives them their toughest quarterback gauntlet late in the season. They will face four of these quarterbacks five times in their final six games.
Of course, it is notable that Mayfield has not beaten Murray in their head-to-head matchups so far.

The Arizona Cardinals are one of those teams that look better on paper than they ever seem to be on Sundays. Led by quarterback Kyler Murray, the offense made strides in 2024 in yards and points. The Cardinals are set to kick off training camp on July 22 and hope they have the pieces in place to compete in a crowded NFC. Could Nick Saban return to coaching? Ex-Alabama football QB Greg McElroy has heard things
As far-fetched as it might seem that former Alabama football coach Nick Saban could return to coaching, at least one person with some insight on the subject told Greg McElroy it's likely to happen. McElroy, who played quarterback at Alabama under Saban from 2007-2009, raised plenty of eyebrows Monday morning on the Mac and Cube show on WJOX radio. "A very much in-the-know person that I have a lot of respect for and have spent a lot of time around, and just really, really admire -- they seem to think Nick Saban is not done coaching. Does Kalen DeBoer think Nick Saban will return to coaching? 'He's earned the right to do what he wants'
ATLANTA − Nick Saban is not at SEC media days representing Alabama football. But Saban still has a storyline. Greg McElroy, a former Alabama quarterback who hosts a radio show on WJOX, said July 14 a "very much in-the-know person that I have a lot of respect for and have spent a lot of time around, and just really, really admire -- they seem to think Nick Saban is not done coaching." Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin echoed the prediction later saying "I don't think he's done." In his appearance at SEC media days July 16, Alabama coach Kalen DeBoer didn't give a definitive answer as to what Saban's next step could be. Instead, DeBoer highlighted that Saban can do what Saban wants to do. "He's one of the greatest to ever do it," DeBoer said. "So he's earned the right to do what he wants. I think the best part of what coach Saban is doing right now is he's still involved in the game. He's growing the game." DeBoer said he enjoys the "moments on Saturday morning before a night game" where he can watch Saban as an analyst on ESPN's "College GameDay. And in occasional moments with the legendary Alabama coach, DeBoer said "you can just feel that he still has that love for the game." "I think that, my sense is that he's enjoyed doing it in the capacity he's doing it in right now... I know from the fan base standpoint, you can't help but want him to be happy and do whatever he wants to do," DeBoer said. Alabama football opens its 2025 season against Florida State Aug. 30.
