Move is appreciated: Kangana Ranaut after crackdown on OTT platforms

Bollywood actress-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut has supported the Centre's ban on OTT platforms in the country. Speaking to ANI, the Emergency star said that the move was crucial to protect the country's young people and was issued in the public interest. 'The ban has been imposed to ensure that our culture and the minds of the youth are not corrupted. It is important to see that our society is not headed toward a complete downfall. It was awaited for a long time,' she said. Kangana also appreciated the step taken against the illegal functioning of the OTT applications. Likewise, actor Ravi Kishan has also welcomed the decision, stating that 'boundaries and limits need to be set.' According to sources, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has ordered the blocking of 25 over-the-top (OTT) platforms over allegedly publishing obscene, vulgar, and even pornographic material. As a part of it, platforms like Ullu, ALTT, Big Shots App, NeonX VIP, and Desiflix were found disseminating content that directly violated several provisions of Indian law, including Section 67 and 67A of the Information Technology Act, Section 292 of the Indian Penal Code, and Section 4 of the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, 1986. A total of 14 mobile applications, 26 websites have been ordered to be disabled by intermediaries under provisions of the IT Act, 2000 and the IT (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021. Much of the content showcased on the aforementioned platforms involved graphic sexual innuendos, long sequences of nudity, and pornographic visuals. Ethan Slater shares how being part of Wicked franchise changed his life in 'huge way'

Washington DC [US], July 26 (ANI): Ethan Slater, who played Boq Woodsman in the musical film 'Wicked' and will reprise his role in 'Wicked: For Good', opened up on his journey in the film and how it has impacted him personally and professionally, reported People. "It's a hard question to think about how it's impacted my career, because it's all sort of like ongoing, one foot in front of the other," said Slater while attending San Diego Comic-Con. He added, "It's been a big part of making those childhood dreams come true," Slater said of being a part of the Wicked franchise. "I saw Wicked on Broadway with my, I think, fifth-grade class. We went on a school trip before the Tonys. It just opened, and we went, and I saw it, and that was one of the first shows that I saw," as per the outlet. "And then I brought my niece to see it for her ninth birthday," Slater continued. "I got to see it again with new eyes, and see what it must have felt like for me to see that. And so it's been such a huge part of me to now be a part of it, to be a part of Wicked, that's changed my life in a huge way," reported People. 'Wicked' is a movie adaptation of Winnie Holzman's 2003 Tony Award-winning musical, starring Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande as Elphaba and Glinda, respectively. The film chronicles the story of an unusual relationship between the soon-to-be Wicked Witch of the West and the Good Witch of the South, and how their lives are altered once they meet the great and powerful Wizard of Oz. 'Wicked: For Good' is an upcoming musical fantasy film directed by Jon M. Chu and written by Winnie Holzman and Dana Fox. The sequel to Wicked (2024) adapts the second act of the 2003 stage musical by Stephen Schwartz and Winnie Holzman, which was loosely based on Gregory Maguire's 1995 novel, itself a reimagining of L. Frank Baum's The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and its 1939 film adaptation. Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande, Jonathan Bailey, Ethan Slater, Marissa Bode, Michelle Yeoh, and Jeff Goldblum reprise their roles from the first film. (ANI)

It was my emotional breakdown: Tanushree Dutta opens up on viral video

Tanushree Dutta has opened up about the emotional video she recently shared on her social media. In the now-viral clip that she shared on Tuesday (July 22 2025), the actress can be seen sobbing and talking about being allegedly "harassed" inside her home. 'I am being harassed in my own house. I just called the cops, and they have asked me to come to the police station to lodge a proper complaint. I will probably go tomorrow or the day after. I am not well. I have been harassed so much in the past five years that I have fallen sick,' she said in the video. Tanushree has alleged that the video was a result of 'pain, stress, and fear she faced over the last five years'. Speaking to ANI, Tanushree said her video was not a stunt or drama, but a real 'emotional response after enduring repeated traumatic events since the #MeToo wave in 2018'. 'First of all, I want to say that it was my emotional response,' she said. 'A lot of strange things have happened to me in the last five years. After #MeToo, serious and dangerous things started happening around me. It took me time to understand that all of this was actually happening to me,' she said. 'I was in an accident; my brakes failed. There were also attempts to mix something in my food to make me sick. Strange things started happening outside my house too,' Tanushree added. When asked if anyone from the film industry reached out to help, she said, 'I don't have any friends. And when all of this started happening to me, the few contacts I had also disappeared.' She also responded to the accusations that her viral video was a publicity stunt saying, 'There are many ways to go viral. I don't need to do all this. I am Tanushree Dutta, Miss India Universe,' she said. Tanushree first gained fame when she won the Femina Miss India Universe title in 2004. She later acted in popular films like Aashiq Banaya Apne, Dhol, and Bhagam Bhag.
