Not all farmers need to submit NOC for agri loans: Co-op dept
As per the circular, not all farmers will be asked to submit an NOC from banks. However, if there is any overlapping of Kisan Credit Card loans by farmers from banks, they will be asked to submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC), said a senior official from the cooperative societies.
Earlier, a circular released on May 25 announced that the CIBIL score of farmers would be verified by the PACS upon application for crop loans. Similarly, the circular on June 6 stated that the department had announced that cattle farmers should obtain a third-party declaration from their respective Aavin milk societies or private dairies, based on their milk supply to either private entities or Aavin, for obtaining a cattle maintenance loan of Rs 18,600 from PACS.
On July 17, the department again released a circular asking farmers to obtain an NOC from nationalised banks where they had obtained KCC loans.
Farmers across TN strongly objected to the new procedures implemented for obtaining loans. They claimed that it would restrict them from obtaining crop and cattle loans from PACS.
Meanwhile, registrar of Cooperative Societies, K Nandhakumar, has released a circular on July 28, instructing the joint registrars of each district to follow the procedures implemented last year. Farmers' associations have hailed the department's announcement.

Kurnool: Ina significant move to support the farming community, Kurnool District Collector P Ranjith Basha announced that a total of Rs 183 crore has been credited to the accounts of 2,73,452 eligible farmers under the 'Annadata Sukhibhava–PM Kisan' scheme. He was speaking at the launch of the first installment disbursal programme for the year 2025–26 held at Krishi Vigyan Kendra in Banavasi, Yemmiganur mandal on Saturday. He informed that under the scheme, a financial aid of Rs 20,000 will be given to each farmer family in three installments, and Rs 7,000 has been released in the first phase. He stated that 2.7 lakh acres are under cultivation in the district, and over 9,200 quintals of seeds and fertilizers have been distributed. Urea continues to be in demand, and it is being supplied across Rythu Bharosa Kendras and PACS. He emphasized the need for farmers to shift towards organic and nano fertilizers, highlighting the health risks associated with chemical inputs and the goal to expand natural farming across 1.32 lakh acres. He urged farmers to adopt modern technologies like drones to reduce costs and generate employment. So far, 35 farmers have been sanctioned drones in the district. He also stressed the importance of e-KYC for availing crop subsidies and insurance. The widening of HNSS Canal to 3,500 cusecs and filling of 68 tanks has improved irrigation, and water release from the Gajuladinne Project continues this year. Later, a symbolic mega cheque and seed kits were distributed to farmers. The event was attended by Adoni Sub-Collector Maurya Bharadwaj, Yemmiganur Market Chairman Mallayya, Agriculture Officer Varalakshmi, and other officials.

'TN government mulls hike in milk procurement price': Minister Mano Thangaraj
ERODE: The state government is considering increasing the milk procurement price, said State Minister for Milk and Dairy Development Mano Thangaraj in Erode on Saturday. Speaking to reporters, Thangaraj also said the state government is paying special attention to increasing the sales of Aavin. "The DMK regime increased the procurement price of milk by Rs 3. In addition, incentives of Rs 3 per litre and Rs 1 for quality milk are being given. Increasing the procurement price of milk is under consideration. We will consult with the chief minister and implement it," the Minister stated. In Tamil Nadu, 36 lakh litres of milk is procured every day. The dairy sector in Erode district is performing well. The quality-based pricing scheme has received a huge response among farmers, he added. On financial assistance, the Minister said, "Interest-free loans worth Rs 88 crore were provided to farmers in Erode district last year. In addition, steps have been taken to provide loans worth Rs 10 cr through other banks. Out of the 472 cooperative societies functioning in Erode district 72 societies have been allowed to purchase and sell dairy products for their sustainable development. Dairy products worth Rs 98 lakh have been sold by these societies." "Since 56 cooperative societies in Erode district are operating without profit, we are trying to run them profitably. We have increased the sales teams at Aavin. We are currently focusing on marketing. We are increasing the structure, procurement, and sales of Aavin," Thangaraj elaborated. Earlier, Minister Thangaraj held a meeting with Aavin officials in Erode. Collector S Kandasamy and MLA VC Chandhirakumar others were present. In response to NTK chief Seeman's apprehension that seven lakh people from Bihar who have settled in Tamil Nadu will become voters in the state, Housing and Urban Development Minister S Muthusamy, who attended the meeting with Thangaraj, said, "DMK and alliance parties are strong in Tamil Nadu. We are sure they will vote for DMK after seeing the projects in Tamil Nadu."

It is impossible to adulterate Aavin milk: Minister
ERODE: Tamil Nadu's milk and dairy development minister Mano Thangaraj on Saturday refuted allegations about adulteration of Aavin milk. "Aavin milk is free from adulteration. It is impossible to adulterate it," he said. 'A vigilance team is in place to prevent adulteration, and they are closely monitoring the situation with farmers,' he said. He asserted that an audio being circulated regarding adulteration was untrue. The minister was speaking to reporters after an Aavin-related review meeting at the Erode district collectorate. Collector S Kandasamy and housing board minister S Muthusamy and others were present at the meeting. Thangaraj said the department was reviewing a proposed a hike in the milk procurement price. 'The proposed price increase is under review, and measures are being taken to bring it to the chief minister's attention," he said. Thangaraj said during the DMK rule, the milk procurement price has been raised by Rs 7, which included Rs 3 for procurement, Rs 3 as an incentive, and Re 1 for milk quality. He mentioned that his department was working to raise the milk procurement volume from 36 lakh litres to 45 lakh litres daily. "The Aavin management is enhancing its milk handling capacity," he added. He said efforts were under way to boost the sales of Aavin products.
