Harry Potter HBO: New Hogwarts Express - from scrapyard to series
Olton Hall - the train which originally carried Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson in the movies - was also rescued from the scrapyard. In fact, it came from the same one.Volunteers from Buckinghamshire Railway Centre spent 40 years restoring Wightwick Hall after it was saved from being scrapped. The Quainton Railway Society, which runs the centre, said it was "extremely proud" that it would "play the role of the iconic locomotive".
Wightwick Hall is currently in use on a line near Brighton. Those looking after it say trains like it need to be kept running to keep them in working condition.Soon it will be swapping Brighton for Hogwarts via platform 9 ¾.It's due to be used for filming for around six months - with members of the team at Buckinghamshire Railway Centre nearby to make sure the engine is maintained properly. It can then begin its magical journey into the world of Harry Potter.

Davina McCall says she hated herself, 'did things she said she'd never do' and let people down when she got clean as she reveals fury over losing out on a job to Scarlett Moffatt
has admitted she did things she thought she would never do and 'really hated herself' when she got clean after her drugs and booze battle. The TV presenter, 57, spoke candidly about how she disappointed herself and those close to her while trying to overcome years of struggling with addiction. Davina began taking cocaine in her young teens, as well as drinking and smoking. By the time she was in her early 20s she was taking heroin. Her friends and family - led by her grandmother - held an intervention and Davina overhauled her life and began attending Narcotics Anonymous meeting. Discussing that period of her life with Closer, Davina said: 'I hated myself when I got clean. I really hated myself. I did things which I said I would never do. I'd let myself and other people down. She felt like she was 'infected by a dark shadow' and said it took her a long time to love herself again, having got 'all of the mad stuff' out of her system by the time she landed her first TV job with MTV at 25. At the age of 31, Davina started fronting a show called Streetmate from 1998 for three years, a reality dating game show which has now become a cult favourite. Davina hosted a one-off Stand Up to cancer special in 2016 and was involved in discussions to bring the show back, which ultimately ended in disappointment. She said: 'It was so fun doing it again and Channel 4 were like "let's bring it back". However, Davina shared her bitter disappointed when the job was given to Scarlett Moffatt, 34. She said: 'Two days before they announced its revival, bosses told me they were going with Scarlett. I was like "no!" but Scarlett presented it, it didn't go well, so I was like "we have to let go of that now". When the planned reboot was going ahead in 2017, the new frontwoman said she had been asking original host Davina for tips ahead of the show's return. The popular I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here 2016 winner said: 'Hopefully I'll do Davina proud. 'I've actually had a chat with her about it and she wished me luck, which was really nice. 'I said I hope I don't let her down. It's hard this dating business! Love is complicated.' However it the end the revival plans were scrapped. In November, Davina revealed she was diagnosed with a colloid cyst, a rare type of benign brain tumour and underwent a six-hour operation. Speaking about the terrifying ordeal at the time, Davina admitted her tumour - whom she called Jeffrey - made her 'angry'. But last month the star insisted she's 'not scared of dying anymore' following her life-changing brain tumour. Speaking at Fearne Cotton 's Happy Place Festival at Gunnersby Park Davina explained how it has shifted her perspective on life. 'I am not afraid of dying anymore and it was the biggest journey of my life from August 2023 to November 2024', she admitted. 'I want to help people on their deathbed on my Begin Again podcast now so they can say "I have lived the life I wanted and not think things like "I wish I had not done that job. I wished I had not stayed in this relationship". 'Sometimes I feel like there are other powers at play. All the fear that comes around the word "tumour". Fearne and I understood each other at that time. 'I mean, it's a really amazing place to get to, not being scared of dying. I think having no regrets and feeling like you are living fully in the life you want to be in, it's quite rare.' Davina has long credited regular exercise and a healthy lifestyle with helping her stay strong – both mentally and physically.

Terry Reid dead: Rock star who turned down Led Zeppelin & Deep Purple dies aged 75 after cancer battle
AN iconic rock star who turned down Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple has died aged 75. Terry Reid, who was endearingly known as Super Lungs for his incredible voice, passed away after a battle with cancer. 2 Terry had been forced to postpone a tour last month due to his cancer treatment. Reid was set to take centre stage at the St Ives September Festival on September 18. A heartfelt announcement was shared on social media in early July, stating: "Due to medical issues arising from recent treatment for cancer Terry has had to postpone his autumn 2025 UK, Irish and Norway. "Terry is especially upset about this as his 2024 tour was so successful and he had been looking forward to playing some new towns and venues plus old faves, as well as his first ever dates in Norway." Reid first came to prominence aged 16, as frontman for soul stompers, Peter Jay & The Jaywalkers. His reputation was also cemented during the mid-60s as he notably supported the Rolling Stones during their 1966 tour. It was during this period that he nearly found himself recruited by Zeppelin's Jimmy Page. Going solo, he was managed by Mickie Most, releasing his debut album, Bang Bang, You're Terry Reid, in 1968. Reflecting on the proposition, Terry revealed in 2023: "I was very friendly with Keith Richards of The Rolling Stones. "Keith asked me to support the Stones in the States, but then shortly afterwards, Jimmy wanted me to join his new band. I was torn. "In the end, I put the ball in Jimmy's court. I said: 'You'd better speak to Keith and tell him I'm not going.' But Jimmy bottled it. H "He said: 'I'm not having him shoot me in the f***ing leg.; Even then, Keith had a reputation. So I ended up going to America with the Stones. I even played with them at Altamont." Looking back on the Deep Purple invitation, he recalled: "I'm not sure what frame I was in when I was asked. "I think it was when Ritchie was doing it at the beginning. Or maybe afterwards. Or maybe inbetween. I had gone to California and it's all a bit vague. "But Blackmore was a brilliant guitar player, wasn't he? I saw him in Screaming Lord Sutch's Savages. Sutch used to chase him around the stage with an axe. "But Ritchie never used to miss a note, and that ain't an easy thing to do. Not when you're about to be beheaded. Blackmore had a terrible job being a member of that band."
