Today's ‘Wordle' #1474 Hints, Clues And Answer For Wednesday, July 2nd

How to solve today's Wordle. Looking for Tuesday's Wordle hints, clues and answer? You can find them here: It's Wordle Wednesday which means we have an extra riddle to solve before we knock out today's Wordle. We do this every Wednesday and I'm also excited to see how many of you get the answer right (or close, or sometimes point out a flaw in the riddles I come up with). Here's today's: A knight awakens, shackled in a stone cell. Water trickles in through the cracks, slowly rising. Across the room sits a sturdy table. Upon it rest three boxes: one red, one blue, and one gold. One and only one of these boxes contains the key to the cell. The knight may open only one box. These are the labels: FEATURED | Frase ByForbes™ Unscramble The Anagram To Reveal The Phrase Pinpoint By Linkedin Guess The Category Queens By Linkedin Crown Each Region Crossclimb By Linkedin Unlock A Trivia Ladder Which box contains the key — and the knight's only chance at escaping his cruel prison alive? Let me know and I'll post the answer in tomorrow's guide. Now let's solve this Wordle! How To Solve Today's Wordle The Hint: Old cheese. The Clue: This Wordle ends with a vowel/consonant hybrid. Okay, spoilers below! The answer is coming! . . . Today's Wordle Every day I check Wordle Bot to help analyze my guessing game. You can check your Wordles with Wordle Bot right here. The BEACH sounds nice and it wasn't bad as an opening Wordle guess. With 96 remaining words and one yellow 'C' I guessed CLOUT for my second guess. This slashed the number of words down to just 4 and at this point I very nearly guessed INCUR but chose FICUS instead. This was a mistake. The answer was INCUR! Today's Wordle Bot I get 0 points for guessing in four and -1 for losing to the Bot. The Bot gets 1 point for guessing in three and 1 for beating me. I'm not off to a great start in July! Erik: -1 points Wordle Bot: 2 points The word "incur" comes from the Latin incurrere, meaning "to run into." It's formed from in- ("into") + currere ("to run"). In English, it came to mean "to bring upon oneself" (especially something undesirable) by the late 14th century. Let me know how you fared with your Wordle today on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook. Today's NYT Strands Puzzle: Hints, Spangram And Answers For Wednesday, July 2nd

Today's NYT Strands hints and answers Looking for Tuesday's Strands hints, spangram and answers? You can find them here: Odin's Day is here, which means over in my Wordle Wednesday guide, there's a special riddle to solve. I don't do those for Strands since I don't write the Strands guide every week, but if you play Wordle and want an extra puzzle today, head over to my blog. In the meantime, we have some Strands words to uncover. Strands is the newest game in the New York Times' stable of puzzle games. It's a fun twist on classic word search games. Every day we're given a new theme and then tasked with uncovering all the words on the grid that fit that theme, including a spangram that spans two sides of the board. One of these words is the spangram which crosses from one side of the grid to another and reveals even more about the day's theme. Spoilers ahead. Today's Strands Hints Read on for today's theme and some hints to help you uncover today's words. Instead of giving you the first two letters of each word, today I'm giving out three hints instead of two. Today's Theme: This is for the birds FEATURED | Frase ByForbes™ Unscramble The Anagram To Reveal The Phrase Pinpoint By Linkedin Guess The Category Queens By Linkedin Crown Each Region Crossclimb By Linkedin Unlock A Trivia Ladder Hint: Things birds gather. Clue: Then use for avian construction projects. Here are the first two letters of each word: Remember, spoilers ahead! What Are Today's Strands Answers? Today's spangram is: NESTINGMATERIAL Here's the full list of words: Here's the completed Strands grid: Today's Strands Lots of words in this one, though none of them particularly difficult. And the spangram—NESTINGMATERIAL—kind of looks like a next, or perhaps a golden chalice. I found a couple bird-like words early on, such as fowl, but those were no good. As I started getting answers like LEAF and WOOL and TWIG it began to occur to me that all of these were things birds used to make nests. Once I had that in mind it became much easier to track down the rest. How did you do on your Strands today? Let me know on Twitter and Facebook. Be sure to check out my blog for my daily Wordle guides as well as all my other writing about TV shows, streaming guides, movie reviews, video game coverage and much more. Thanks for stopping by!
