While Freddie and Jenniefer reprised their roles from the 1997 original hit film, Sarah's character unfortunately couldn't survive the previous film.
Fans were quick to assume that there was some unresolved resentment between the two actresses after there was not a single picture of them posing together at the event.

The 48-year-old took to Instagram to address the situation and shared a comment under her latest post, 'For everyone asking - I never got to see @jenniferlovehewitt, who is fantastic in the movie.'
'I was inside with my kids when the big carpet happened. And unfortunately JLH didn't come to the after party,' she continued.
Clearing the misunderstandings, the 'Cruel Intentions' star further wrote, 'If you have ever been to one of these it's crazy. I sadly didn't get pics with most of the cast," and continued to vouch for their amazing friendship, "But that doesn't change how amazing I think they all are. Unfortunately, some things happen only in real life and not online."
The ongoing speculative feud
Previously, Gellar had spoken about the speculative rift with Hewitt among the fans in December 2024. The audience questioned whether Jennifer demanded Sarah's character to be killed off in the horror film. As a response, Jennifer addressed in an episode of the I've Never Said This Before with Tommy DiDario podcast, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
'I was 18. They were not taking script notes from me. All of us were in that experience together, you know, figuring it all out and everything. And I root for her and Freddie,' she said, before adding, 'I think it's the cutest thing in the world that they've been married for 100 years and have kids. It's, like, adorable. So it's just been really funny to see all of this stuff.'
