Milan part ways with Conceicao after disappointing season
May 29 (Reuters) - AC Milan have sacked coach Sergio Conceicao, the Serie A side announced on Thursday, following a disappointing season in which they finished ninth in the league and missed out on European competition for the first time since 2019.
"The Club would like to thank Sergio and his staff for their commitment, professionalism and dedication shown during their time leading the team over the past few months," Milan said in a statement.
Conceicao was appointed in December as a replacement for Paulo Fonseca and got off to an impressive start as he led Milan to victory in the Italian Super Cup in his second match in charge.
However, results in the league did not improve under the Portuguese and they were also eliminated from the Champions League in a playoff loss to Dutch side Feyenoord in February.
Milan's last hope of salvaging the season ended earlier in May with a bitter 1–0 loss to Bologna in the Coppa Italia final.
Conceicao was not on the touchline for the season's final match against Monza at San Siro, having received a one-match ban after being sent off in the defeat by AS Roma last weekend — a result that ended Milan's last hope of securing a European spot.

If we can get two/three good seasons out of him then we could end up with a £30m+ asset. Either way it certainly looks like £1.5m well Nygren looks like the real deal. It's difficult to make one's mind up based on highlight reels, right enough. He is saying the right things in the media, regarding his winning mentality, his experience and what he thinks will be expected of him while wearing the hoops. I just hope he has the longevity to do it season after season, on a cold wet Wednesday night in the north east of Scotland!

Dyson says the fan works by not only keeping you cool but sensing and removing pollutants around your home as well. The fan turns 350 degrees, weighs 4.85kg and is just over 1metre tall. You can place it on desktops, bedside tables and side tables, depending on where you need it most. THE BEST DYSON DUPES Dyson is, arguably, one of the most recognised brands selling fans on the market, but you can save money buying a dupe version.
