Hugh Laurie will do crime in a new Apple TV Plus show.
The Wanted Man will see Laurie play Felix Carmichael, the 'elusive and powerful head of notorious British crime syndicate 'The Capital,' according to Apple's press release. After going to prison, Carmichael learns he's been betrayed, and so decides to try to escape to exact revenge.
The show comes from George Kay, who also created the Idris Elba-starring Hijack. The Wanted Man 's other stars include Thandiwe Newton, Fionn Whitehead, and Gina McKee.

When Is Body Horror Thriller ‘Together' Coming To Streaming?
Together — a body horror thriller starring Dave Franco And Alison Brie — is new in theaters. When will it be available to watch at home? Together opened in theaters on July 30. The official summary for the movie reads, 'Years into their relationship, Tim and Millie (Franco and Brie) find themselves at a crossroads as they move to the country, abandoning all that is familiar in their lives except each other. 'With tensions already flaring, a nightmarish encounter with a mysterious, unnatural force threatens to corrupt their lives, their love and their flesh.' Written and directed by Michael Shanks, Together also stars Damon Herriman. When Together comes to the home entertainment market, the first place it will be available is on digital streaming via premium video on demand. Generally, Together's studio, Neon, has a six-week window between the time its films open in theaters and debut on PVOD. For example, Neon's hit horror comedy The Monkey debuted on PVOD on April 4, just under six weeks after it opened in theaters on Feb. 21. More recently, Neon's sci-fi fantasy drama The Life of Chuck arrived on PVOD on July 29, about six weeks after it opened wide in theaters on June 13. If Together follows the same release pattern, viewers can expect to purchase or rent Together on PVOD on or around Sept. 9, since new films on PVOD are generally released on Tuesdays. Which Streaming Service Will Get 'Together' First? Since Neon has a deal with the platform, Together will make its debut on Hulu when it arrives on streaming video on demand. Generally, it takes anywhere from four and a half months to five and a half months for Neon releases to arrive on Hulu. For example, Neon's Best Picture Oscar winner Anora, which expanded to a wide release in theaters on Nov. 8, 2024, arrived on Hulu just under four and a half months later, on March 17. However, Neon's hit horror comedy thriller The Monkey, which opened in theaters on Feb. 21, will finally make its SVOD debut on Hulu on Aug. 7, which marks a five and a half month stretch between its theatrical and Hulu release. Should Together follow the same release pattern, viewers can expect the film to debut on Hulu anytime between Dec. 12 and Jan. 12, 2026. Unlike other streaming platforms, new Neon film releases on Hulu aren't relegated to a specific day. Rated R, Together is new in theaters nationwide.

Kate Middleton and Prince William might be ditching Adelaide Cottage for an even fancier spot on the Windsor Estate named Fort Belvedere, and apparently King Charles isn't thrilled. According to Rob Shutter's #shutterscoop (via Yahoo!), King Charles is "fuming" over the cost of William and Kate's proposed move. As a palace source put it, "It'll take millions to renovate. Charles sees it as an unnecessary extravagance." However, William and Kate are said to be enthused about the move, with an insider explaining "They've outgrown Adelaide Cottage. Fort Belvedere has it all — history, land, and proximity to Eton." Wills and Kate have moved quite a few times over the years. They kicked things off at Apartment 1A in Kensington Palace—right in the heart of London—before relocating to their country home, Anmer Hall. Then they left Anmer Hall for Adelaide Cottage in 2022, so this new move is coming not even three years later. As for Fort Belvedere, the Daily Mail describes it as a "a magnificent gothic-revival mansion nestled in a hidden corner of Windsor Great Park." Their source notes that Wills and Kate "feel they have outgrown Adelaide Cottage and need somewhere more substantial. This is the perfect new home for them. It has a swimming pool and tennis court, and Charlotte loves playing tennis." FYI, the 18th century mini castle is where Edward VIII lived before he abdicated the throne, and has a slew of amenities—including, but not limited to, an outdoor swimming pool, a tennis court, a rose garden, a greenhouse, private stables, some casual lakes, paddocks, and multiple staff cottages. Asylum hotel protest to see ‘increased police presence'
A protest against the use of a hotel to accommodate asylum seekers will see an 'increased police presence', the Metropolitan Police has said. The force has imposed conditions on a protest and counter protest outside the Thistle City Barbican Hotel in Islington, north London, on Saturday. A protest and counter protest will also take place in Newcastle outside The New Bridge Hotel on Saturday. The Metropolitan Police said the protest against the use of the Islington hotel was organised by local residents under the banner 'Thistle Barbican needs to go – locals say no'. A counter protest, organised by Stand Up To Racism and supported by former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, as well as other groups including Finsbury Park Mosque and Islington Labour Party, will also take place. Police said the anti-asylum hotel protest had been 'endorsed by groups from outside the local community which is likely to increase the number of people attending'. Online groups that have voiced support for the protest include 'Patriots of Britain' and 'Together for the Children'. The Metropolitan Police said plans were in place to 'respond to any protest activity in the vicinity of other hotels in London being used to accommodate asylum seekers'. Conditions on the anti-asylum hotel protest include that anyone participating must remain within King Charles Square and that the assembly must not begin before 1pm and must conclude by 4pm. Police said conditions on the counter protest include that participants must remain in Lever Street, near the junction with Central Street, and that the assembly must not begin before 12pm and must conclude by 4pm. Chief Superintendent Clair Haynes, in charge of the policing operation, said: 'We have been in discussions with the organisers of both protests in recent days, building on the ongoing engagement between local officers, community groups and partners. 'We understand that there are strongly held views on all sides. 'Our officers will police without fear or favour, ensuring those exercising their right to protest can do so safely but intervening at the first sign of actions that cross the line into criminality. 'We have used our powers under the Public Order Act to put conditions in place to prevent serious disorder and to minimise serious disruption to the lives of people and businesses in the local community. 'Those conditions identify two distinct protest areas where the protests must take place, meaning the groups will be separated but still within sight and sound of each other.' There are also posts online advertising a 'for our children, for our future' protest in Newcastle on Saturday outside The New Bridge Hotel. A 'stop the far right and fascists in Newcastle' counter protest has been organised by Stand Up To Racism at the nearby Laing Art Gallery. In a statement, the organisers of the counter protest said: 'Yet again far-right and fascist thugs are intent on bringing their message of hate to Newcastle. They aim to build on years of Islamophobia, anti-migrant sentiment and scapegoating. 'In Epping and elsewhere recently we have already seen intimidation and violence aimed at refugees, migrants and asylum seekers. 'Newcastle, like the rest of the North East, has a well-earned reputation for unity in the face of those who seek to divide us. Whatever problems we face, racism and division are not the answer.' Northumbria Police have been approached for comment.
