This Titanic Polk Street Gay Bar Just Got Pulled Back from the Brink
Polk Street, where the first San Francisco Pride parade marched in 1970, just got great news: The last remaining gay bar in Polk Gulch got a big stimulus injection from a new owner. The Cinch Saloon, an icon in the area alongside the Grubstake Diner, opened in 1974. Now it'll get a second life from Scott Taylor, a beverage director at nearby Harris' Restaurant for 23 years.
The news is more than just timely, given Pride. According to the San Francisco Chronicle , rumors had been in the air that the Cinch would close any day. One of the two former owners died in 2023. This Tuesday, June 3 announcement gives a spark of hope to the area that, once upon a time, was just as important a gayborhood as the Castro. Drag main character Juanita More told the paper she'd help Taylor keep the Cinch around 'for a hundred years.' New Oakland restaurant event debuts this summer
The Oakland Restaurant Collective — a new-ish collection of business owners in the Town including chef Nelson German of alaMar Dominican Kitchen and the teams behind Jaji and the Caffè by Mr. Espresso — is about to run its first Summer Affair. The event runs all of June and is meant to highlight the some 30 restaurants in the cadre who will host special, restaurant-week-esque menus. There are a ton of events at participating restaurants to peep, too. Ferry Building croissant favorite set to shutter
Back across the water, Grande Creperie on the waterfront is in jeopardy. The business, which opened in 2022, was informed its lease will end on June 30, 2025. The San Francisco Standard reports owners Patrick and Joanna Ascaso were told in January they'd have an extended lease. They say they were told by building management their outfit no longer fits the 'cultural mix' of the Ferry Building. Michelin star-holding restaurant rolls out affordable menu
One of the city's newest additions to the ol' tire guide has just unveiled a plan to bring in diners on those nights that are decidedly less special occasion-y. On Monday, June 2 the team at 7 Adams released its 7 at 7 menu. In an Instagram post, the business owners said the idea is to offer a nightly, $127 seven-course menu somewhere between the $87 five-course menu and the $157 chef's counter experience.

Sauce Gardner opens up on how LeBron James played role in him meeting Ice Spice
LeBron James, even if unintentionally, helped play the role of matchmaker for Sauce Gardner's rumored relationship with rapper Ice Spice, the Jets cornerback told TMZ. Gardner appeared on an April 2024 episode of 'The Shop' — a podcast featuring James — alongside rapper Travis Scott, former NFL wideout Chad Ochocinco and star Mariners outfielder Julio Rodriguez, and Gardner told the outlet he believes that's when the couple met in person for the first time. They seemingly became Instagram official just over one year later in a post shared by Ice Spice with her and Gardner posing in front of a bathroom mirror. Advertisement 3 Ice Spice and Sauce Gardner are pictured at the Knicks' game May 16. AP While Gardner told TMZ that he wasn't 'trying to speak too much on it' when approached in Los Angeles, he did acknowledge that he and the rapper are 'cool' — and proceeded to reveal a bit about their relationship. 'We just be having a good time,' Gardner told the outlet. 'Two young individuals, you know. She from New York. I play in New York. She talented, real talented, when it come to what she do. Same thing for me. Two people that get hated on that's really good at what we do, so we got a lot in common. We cool.' Advertisement 3 LeBron James is pictured at Fanatics Fest on June 21. Getty Images Before Ice Spice's post, the duo had been spotted out in public on different occasions, and Gardner appeared to tease the relationship earlier in April by sharing a photo on Instagram that showed them standing next to a car in New York City. When they attended a Knicks playoff game at the Garden in May, they received a loud ovation from fans in attendance as they watched the Knicks close out their second-round series against the Celtics. Gardner, 24, will enter the 2025 campaign off a rough season and is entering the last year of his rookie deal, but he still attended the Jets' mandatory minicamp instead of holding out, getting fined and attempting to make a contract statement. Bill Kostroun/New York Post 'I just wanted to show my teammates and the coaches how much I'm bought into this,' Gardner told reporters on June 12. 'I want to win. I want to be a part of changing the organization.' He earned consecutive First-Team All-Pro appearances in his first two NFL seasons — as well as winning Defensive Rookie of the Year and securing a pair of Pro Bowl spots — but failed to even make the Pro Bowl last year.

Katie Couric slams Lauren Sanchez's wedding style, calling it outdated and ‘tacky'
She was not impressed by the dress. Katie Couric slammed Lauren Sanchez's wedding style, bashing her gown and her hair in a scathing social media post. 'Welcome to the eighties — when big hair and conspicuous consumption ruled. Apparently tacky is back,' she penned. The former 'Today' show host left the rude remark on Jack Schlossberg's Instagram post on Friday, the day Sanchez married Bezos in a lavish ceremony in Venice, Italy. Schlossberg, the son of Caroline Kennedy, reposted Sanchez's Vogue cover — where the former journalist donned her long-sleeved, corseted Dolce & Gabbana lace gown that took some 900 hours to make — with the caption, 'Like I said … vogue.' 3 Katie Couric slammed Lauren Sanchez's wedding look, which made the cover of Vogue. Vogue Couric wasted no time in jumping on the bandwagon, and an hour later, left the 'tacky' comment, to which Schlossberg replied, 'Let's bring back scrunchies,' a reference to the '80s hair accessory famously roasted on 'Sex and the City.' Others joined in on the attack, adding comments such as 'Spot on. Money can't buy you class' and 'Imagine being married to the one of richest men on the planet and still choosing a dress that's ugly as f—k.' 3 The former 'Today' host took to Instagram to call Sanchez's look 'tacky.' Getty Images for The Women's Media Center Some did defend the new bride's looks, however, and called for an end to the mean girl comments. 'I think she looks gorgeous, the dress is stunning and a surprise. Everyone leave her alone. Let her be happy,' one said. 'If the dress made her feel good on her day that's a beautiful thing,' another added. 3 Sanchez married Jeff Bezos in a lavish, star-studded ceremony in Venice, Italy. @laurensanchezbezos via REUTERS Others turned on Couric and her unnecessarily rude comment. 'I'm reading that many women say Lauren Sánchez Bezos lacks 'class.' Those same critics also lack 'class,' because an educated, intelligent, respectful, or rather, classy person doesn't go around criticizing or making fun of other people,' one scolded. Another pointed out that Couric may be lashing out because she feels slighted since she didn't make the wedding's star-studded guest list. 'I'm guessing you aren't invited, Katie lol,' they quipped.

Anna Camp Calls Out Hollywood's Age Gap Double Standard
Anna Camp had a little message for anyone who still has something negative to say about the age difference between her and her girlfriend, Jade Whipkey. Earlier this month, Anna celebrated the premiere of her new film Bride Hard, at the Directors Guild of America in Los Angeles. While at the event, Anna, 42, and Jade, 24, made their red carpet debut as a couple. The two were all-smiles the entire night. Despite this being their first red carpet together, Anna and the celebrity stylist confirmed their relationship back in March, after posting a photo of them together on her Instagram story dressed for the Renaissance Pleasure Faire. News of their relationship caused a stir online, ranging from comments from fans being surprised that Anna is now dating a woman after being in two heterosexual marriages, to shock about the 18-year age gap she shares with Jade. So, the Pitch Perfect star hopped in the comments to set the record straight, saying, "I dated men exactly my age and Jade is FAR more mature than any of them." Well, with conversations on the topic still happening, Anna subtly addressed the naysayers again on Instagram, this time through her own post. On June 24, Anna shared a carousel of photos and videos, with the majority of them including Jade. And while pitcures just kept getting cuter... ...and cuter... ...there was one image that really stood out. In the middle of the carousel was a photoshopped photo of Leonardo DiCaprio with his current girlfriend, Vittoria Ceretti, with the caption "25 years" written across it, emphasizing their age gap. Outside of being an extremely talented actor, Leo is also known for dating models in their 20s. Leo is 50 (1974) and Vittoria is 27 (1998). The two were spotted celebrating Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez's wedding at Hotel Gritti on June 26, 2025, in Venice, Italy. Despite the image Ana posted saying "25 years," the two actually have a 24-year age gap. You can see everything she posted below: What are your thoughts on this? Let me know in the comments!
