No farmer will be left out of Annadata Sukhibhava – PM Kisan: Collector
Speaking at the launch of the 2025–26 first phase of the programme held at the AP Seeds office in Srikalahasti on Saturday, he underlined the government's commitment to farmer welfare.
The Collector, alongside local MLA B Sudhir Reddy, highlighted that the combined benefit of the Central PM-Kisan and State Annadata Sukhibhava schemes will provide Rs 20,000 annually to each farmer family in Andhra Pradesh. This amount will be disbursed in three instalments – Rs 7,000 in the current phase, another Rs 7,000 in October before the Rabi season, and the final Rs 6,000 during harvest time in January. While the Central government contributes Rs 6,000 under PM-Kisan, the remaining Rs 14,000 will come from the State government. In Tirupati district alone, Rs 105 crore has been credited on Saturday to the accounts of 1,54,908 farmers.
The Collector announced the provision of 90 per cent subsidised urea and the setup of a dedicated grievance cell at the AP Seeds office to support farmers with information related to the scheme.
MLA Sudhir Reddy noted that over 27,000 farmers in Srikalahasti constituency are availing the scheme. He criticised the previous government, saying farmers had suffered under YSRCP rule, and praised the present government for introducing initiatives such as farm mechanisation, subsidised drones, and storage godowns in every mandal to help farmers fetch better prices.
District Agriculture Officer S Prasada Rao advised farmers to complete Aadhaar-bank linking for smooth benefit transfer and to visit nearby Rythu Seva Kendras if funds are not credited. Farmers can also get updates via WhatsApp on 9552300009.
Later, a mega cheque was handed over to farmers by the Collector and MLA. AP Greenery and Beautification Corporation Chairperson M Sugunamma, several officials and farmer association representatives attended the event.

Probe panel holds KCR responsible for Kaleshwaram project irregularities: Sources
Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) president and former Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) has been named as primarily responsible for large-scale irregularities in the planning, design, and financial management of the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project in the final report of the Justice PC Ghose Commission, according to report submitted on July 31, describes the project as a 'colossal waste of public money,' the Commission has placed direct and vicarious accountability on Rao for what it calls 'rampant and brazen irregularities' that led to a financial disaster and structural Kaleshwaram project, which includes the Medigadda, Annaram and Sundilla barrages, saw its cost escalate from Rs 38,500 crore to over Rs 1.10 lakh crore by 2022. The Commission's report states that key planning and decision-making processes were dominated solely by Rao and then Irrigation minister and KCR's nephew T Harish Rao, without approval from the cabinet. A crucial expert report opposing the viability of the Medigadda barrage was allegedly suppressed, and site changes were pushed through with misleading justifications and a lack of report finds that the contracts were awarded on a lump sum basis, bypassing the Central Water Commission's recommendation for turnkey contracts. Subsequent revised administrative approvals (RAA I and II) led to a drastic and unjustified increase in costs. The Commission notes that completion certificates were issued despite incomplete and defective work, and that there was collusion between contractors and government officials, leading to massive losses to the public lapses in operation and maintenance were also highlighted. The Commission found that there were no inspections or safety checks and that water was impounded continuously in violation of engineering norms, contributing to the structural distress seen at Medigadda. The project also used unsafe permeable foundations for water storage and ignored geotechnical study requirements, with quality checks allegedly addition to KCR, the Commission has named several other key officials. The then Irrigation minister T Harish Rao has been held responsible for suppressing expert advice, and then Finance Minister Eatala Rajender has been criticised for failing to ensure financial oversight. Senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers and engineers were found to have suppressed facts, submitted false evidence, and failed in their duties related to safety and report recommends strong legal action against those involved and recovery of misused public funds. The Justice PC Ghose Commission concluded that the failures were not incidental but stemmed from deliberate decisions that violated government business rules and disregarded expert warnings, resulting in enormous financial and structural 11 June, KCR had appeared before Justice PC Ghose Commission in connection with the investigation into the alleged irregularities in the project.- EndsMust Watch IN THIS STORY#Telangana

Andhra liquor scam: New video shows Jagan Reddy party leader's aide counting cash
A new video linked to the Andhra Pradesh liquor scam has surfaced, showing stacks of cash reportedly worth Rs 35 crore. The video was allegedly found on the phone of Venkatesh Naidu, who is named Accused No. 34 (A-34) in the case. Naidu, a close aide of YSRCP senior leader Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy, is seen in the video counting bundles of cash, which investigators say came through hawala cash includes both Rs 500 notes and old, demonetised Rs 2000 notes. It is suspected to have come from a distillery company and was allegedly sent to Chevireddy as proof of receipt. Naidu has been taken into custody by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) in who is known to be closely associated with former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, has been listed as Accused No 38 (A-38) in the case. Reddy was detained by the SIT on June 18 in Bengaluru.
