Heated exchanges at Lord's were fun, says England's Brook
Tension flared between the teams during the match, with India captain Shubman Gill sarcastically clapping England batters over delays, and Indian fast bowler Mohammed Siraj roaring in the face of England opener Ben Duckett after taking his wicket.
Brook said England decided to respond in kind after the visitors' heated verbal exchanges with Duckett and Zak Crawley when England faced a single over from Jasprit Bumrah at the end of the third day.
"We had a little chat and we thought, we're a team so we may as well get together and give it back at them," Brook told reporters on Monday.
"It put them under a little bit more pressure."
"I've had a lot of compliments. Everybody said it was awesome to watch. It looked like it was 11 versus two out there while we were fielding. It was good fun... it was tiring but it made fielding a lot more enjoyable," he said.
Brook, who scored a century in the second test after missing out on a ton by one run in the first, said the hardfought series was far from over, with the fourth match starting at Old Trafford on Wednesday.

"India are such a good side, they can bounce back at any stage... every game we've played so far has gone into the last hour of the game, which you don't see very often," he said.
"I've had a lot of people come up to me and say, this is a great series... and everybody said that the Lord's game was one of the best that they have ever watched." REUTERS

"In the early years we had this qualifying system which was just mental, where the top six in the championship went out on a track that was one second slower than (for) the next group and then half a second slower than the next group," he said. "You could never pull away in the championship. You would basically get in the lead and then just start last in the next race." In 2021, the last year before the Season Eight change, 18 drivers remained in title contention heading into the final two rounds. Seven of the 11 championships, including the first three, have been decided in the final race. "It's kind of much fairer and I think you have the opportunity to see people winning more back-to-back titles," said Rowland, 32. "I think it's a little bit fairer now in terms of not being as much of a lottery. I expect that you will see the same guys towards the front and more repeat winners moving forward," said Rowland. While this year's drivers' crown is won, Nissan are fighting Porsche for the team and manufacturers' titles. Rowland said his ambition for the future, without the pressure of chasing a first title, was to try to cement himself as one of the top drivers in the series. Manchester United sign forward Mbeumo from Brentford
, 2025 - Manchester United have signed forward Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford until 2030, with the option to extend for a further year, United said on Monday. United paid 65 million pounds ($88 million) to Brentford, with another 6 million potentially due in add-ons, for the 25-year-old Cameroon international, according to a club source. Mbeumo hit new heights in the 2024–25 league season, finishing with 20 goals to help Brentford to a solid 10th-place finish. Only Mohamed Salah (29), Alexander Isak (23) and Erling Haaland (22) scored more. "As soon as I knew there was a chance to join Manchester United, I had to take the opportunity to sign for the club of my dreams, the team whose shirt I wore growing up," he said. Referees in top form ahead of Women's Euro 2025 final phase

OBERENTFELDEN, Switzerland – It is not just the players who are in top form as the Women's Euro 2025 reaches its climax in Switzerland – the tournament referees have spent months preparing to be in peak physical condition. The 13 whistle-blowers chosen to officiate at the 31 games in the tournament have been put through their paces for several months, with remote and group training sessions in the lead-up to sharpen their skills. 'Physical and mental preparation are very important for a referee. Uefa supports us with that, so we have a tailored plan to guarantee that we can be in optimal shape to take part in this tournament,' said Spanish referee Marta Huerta de Aza, who is officiating at her second Euro. 'To be at a Women's Euro again, three years on, is even more difficult, because the female referees we have in Europe, in my personal opinion, are the best in the world – they demonstrate it in each international competition,' she added. Uefa demands high standards of the referees employed for the 16-team tournament. 'Notably, all of them have passed the same fitness test we conduct for the elite men's referees. We have full confidence in them and their assistants, as well as the video officials, to show their quality at the final tournament,' Uefa managing director for refereeing Roberto Rosetti said in a statement. The growth in the women's game has also resulted in greater opportunities for female referees, with Tess Olofsson saying the landscape is vastly different from when she first picked up a whistle at the age of 13 in her native Sweden. Suddenly, women's football has really developed, both in terms of refereeing and playing,' she said. 'It is fantastic to see that there are so many professional female referees out there who can make a living out of this job.'
