
Toyota Kirloskar Motor inaugurates New City Office in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar
This development follows the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between TKM and the Government of Maharashtra in July 2024, aimed at facilitating the establishment of a Greenfield Manufacturing Facility in the region. The new office will serve as a critical hub for advancing TKM's regional operations and reinforcing its long-term commitment to industrial development with focus on sustainability, creation of skilled manpower and jobs, and giving back to the society across Maharashtra.
The new office located at ABC EAST Beside Prozone Mall Chikalthana spanning 7000 sq. ft. was inaugurated by Masakazu Yoshimura, Chairman, MD & CEO, TKM, Swapnesh Maru, Deputy Managing Director Corporate Planning, Green Field Project. This newly established office reinforces TKM's commitment to strengthening its presence in Maharashtra, contributing to the region's emergence as a manufacturing hub, and deepening engagement with key stakeholders—including local authorities, industry bodies.
Speaking at the inauguration, Mr. Swapnesh Maru, Deputy Managing Director Corporate Planning, Green Field Project, TKM said, 'The inauguration of our new office in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar will enable us with a more localised approach by deepening our market engagement and stakeholder connect. Looking ahead, we remain committed to bringing in world-class manufacturing capabilities to the region—unlocking Marathwada's potential by creating employment, nurturing skilled talent, and driving inclusive, sustainable growth.

Karnataka to replicate ELCITA model across other industrial zones
BENGALURU: Karnataka will replicate its successful Electronic City Association Township or ELCITA model across other industrial zones to promote decentralised and cluster-based industrial development, Principal Secretary, Commerce and Industries Department, Dr S Selvakumar, said on Saturday. Selvakumar also confirmed that tax collections from Special Investment Regions (SIRs) will now be directly handled by the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB), with 70% of the proceeds reinvested into infrastructure within those regions. He was speaking at the Viksit Bharat @2047 Investors' Roundtable Conference, where Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industries, Amardeep Singh Bhatia, and principal secretaries from across south India gathered to align state-level initiatives with national industrial growth strategies. Selvakumar also highlighted state's ease-of-doing-business reforms, mentioning that the state's single-window clearance system now covers 105 of 153 services, reducing approval delays for investors. The roundtable was organised under the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme (NICDP). Bhatia urged southern states to adopt NICDP model, which includes 20 sector-specific industrial parks equipped with essential infrastructure such as water and power supply, electronics testing facilities, and solid waste management systems. Bhatia also outlined the goals of India's Vision 2047, calling for stronger Centre-state collaboration, support for MSMEs, and the acceleration of deep-tech startups for industrial growth.

Investors decry conflicts over land meant for industries
Bengaluru: Investors in Karnataka have raised concerns over growing conflicts related to land use for industrial purposes, Amardeep Singh Bhatia, secretary, DPIIT, said on Saturday. The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, formulates and implements policies to drive industrial growth in India. Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the 'Viksit Bharat-2047' Investors' Roundtable Conference held in Bengaluru, Bhatia said the Karnataka government was already working to address these issues. 'We will also do whatever is necessary to improve the condition,' he added. He said stakeholders had also highlighted the need for improvements in the single-window clearance system and called for better infrastructure in existing industrial zones, including effluent treatment plants. The conference brought together senior policymakers, government officials, and business leaders to discuss strategies for transformative industrial growth in Karnataka and southern India. Bhatia said several best practices were discussed during the event for possible adoption by various states. He cited the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme (NICDP), which includes 20 industrial parks with sector-specific facilities—such as water and power supply, electronics testing, and solid waste management—as a model that southern states could consider. In his keynote address, Bhatia stressed the importance of integrated infrastructure in shaping India's industrial future.
