Man riding dirt bike dies after crashing into pole on South Side, police say
It happened around 2:30 a.m. in the 7400 block of South Wabash Avenue in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood.
Chicago police said the victim was riding a dirt bike when he crashed into a pole.
He was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. His identity was not released.
No other injuries were reported, according to police.
It is unclear what caused the victim to crash the dirt bike.
Area detectives are investigating.

Man beaten to death on Loop CTA platform: CPD
A man was found beaten to death on a CTA train platform in the Loop late Saturday, according to Chicago Police. Around 10:25 p.m., a 56-year-old man was involved in a fight with another male on a train platform in the 100 block of West Lake Street, police said. BOYNTON BEACH — Three people were shot and wounded Saturday night at a city park, police said today. Boynton Beach Police officers responded to Sara Sims Park just after 8 p.m. on July 5 to reports of a shooting. Three gunshot victims were found there, all with non-life-threatening injuries, spokeswoman Chelsea Sanabia said today. Sara Sims Park is west of North Seacrest Boulevard in eastern Boynton Beach. It is bounded by Martin Luther King Boulevard, Northwest First Street, Northwest Ninth Court and Northwest Eighth Avenue. Police did not disclose names, ages or genders of the shooting victims, the circumstances that led to the gunfire, or whether any suspects had been identified.
