Man riding dirt bike dies after crashing into pole on South Side, police say

A 24-year-old man is dead after crashing a dirt bike early Thursday morning on the city's South Side.
It happened around 2:30 a.m. in the 7400 block of South Wabash Avenue in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood.
Chicago police said the victim was riding a dirt bike when he crashed into a pole.
He was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. His identity was not released.
No other injuries were reported, according to police.
It is unclear what caused the victim to crash the dirt bike.
Area detectives are investigating.

BOYNTON BEACH — Three people were shot and wounded Saturday night at a city park, police said today. Boynton Beach Police officers responded to Sara Sims Park just after 8 p.m. on July 5 to reports of a shooting. Three gunshot victims were found there, all with non-life-threatening injuries, spokeswoman Chelsea Sanabia said today. Sara Sims Park is west of North Seacrest Boulevard in eastern Boynton Beach. It is bounded by Martin Luther King Boulevard, Northwest First Street, Northwest Ninth Court and Northwest Eighth Avenue. Police did not disclose names, ages or genders of the shooting victims, the circumstances that led to the gunfire, or whether any suspects had been identified. Sanabia said police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to call the department's non-emergency line at 561-732-8116.
