'Not offering Iran anything': Donald Trump refuses to talk with Tehran; attacks Obama-era policy
US President
Donald Trump
said that he is "not talking or giving anything" to Tehran after the deputy foreign minister has put a condition on any future diplomatic and nuclear talks with America.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump said, "Tell phony Democrat Senator Chris Coons that I am not offering Iran ANYTHING, unlike Obama, who paid them $Billions under the stupid 'road to a Nuclear Weapon JCPOA (which would now be expired!), nor am I even talking to them since we totally OBLITERATED their Nuclear Facilities."
This came after Tehran's deputy foreign minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi said the US must rule out any further strikes on Iran if it wants to resume diplomatic talks.
He revealed to BBC that the Trump administration communicated via intermediaries about resuming negotiations this week.
However, he noted that they failed to clarify their stance regarding potential attacks during the discussion period.
Discussions between the US and Iran concerning Iran's nuclear programme were ongoing when Israel conducted strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities and military installations earlier this month, prompting Iran to launch missile counterstrikes.

The US entered the conflict directly on June 21 when it conducted bombing operations against three Iranian nuclear facilities.
Earlier, a CNN report came that the Trump administration in recent days has explored possible economic incentives in return for the Iranian regime halting uranium enrichment. Iran would also be allowed to receive assistance from regional countries to help it build the civilian nuclear programme, granting Tehran access to as much as the reported $30 billion.
However, Trump refuted the claims and called it a fake and hoax news. He said, "Who in the FAKE NEWS MEDIA is the SleazeBag saying that 'President Trump wants to give Iran $30 billion to build non-military Nuclear facilities.' Never heard of this ridiculous idea."
"It's just another HOAX put out by the Fake News in order to demean. These people are SICK!!!," the MAGA leader added.

US bill proposes 500% tariff on India, China over Russia business ties
A proposed US Senate bill, backed by President Donald Trump, could impose 500% tariffs on countries, including India and China, that continue trading with Russia, Republican Senator Lindsey Graham said in an interview with ABC to ABC News, Graham stated, "If you're buying products from Russia, and you're not helping Ukraine, then there's a 500% tariff on your products coming into the United States. India and China buy 70% of Putin's oil. They keep his war machine going."advertisementThe bill is reportedly expected to be introduced in August, marking a significant escalation in US efforts to isolate Russia economically. If enacted, the bill could severely impact India and China, the largest buyers of discounted Russian crude. For India, the move also risks tariffs on exports like pharmaceuticals, textiles, and IT is a major buyer of Russian oil, and imported EUR 49 billion worth of crude oil in the third year of the Ukraine invasion. Traditionally, India sourced its oil from the Middle East, but began importing a large volume of oil from Russia soon after the invasion of Ukraine in February development also comes on the heels of the much-expected India-US bilateral trade agreement. US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stated on Tuesday that the trade deal is "very close", even as an Indian delegation continued discussions with US officials in Washington after trade talks hit a deadlock over key agricultural demands, sources told India proposed bill, co-sponsored by Graham and Democratic Senator Richard Blumenthal, reportedly has 84 co-sponsors and aims to pressure nations into halting Russian oil purchases, weakening "Moscow's war economy" and pushing it toward peace negotiations in told ABC News that Trump gave the green light during a golf game. "For the first time yesterday, the President told me I was playing golf with him. He says, 'It's time to move your bill.'"Originally proposed in March, the legislation faced delays after the White House signalled Wall Street Journal reported that the Trump administration had 'quietly pressured' the Senate to soften the bill by changing mandatory language ("shall") to discretionary ("may").Graham later reportedly proposed a carve-out for countries supporting Ukraine, likely to ease concerns among the US's European allies. US Stocks Fall From Records As Tesla Sinks On Musk-Trump Row
Wall Street stocks retreated from records early Tuesday while Tesla sank as President Donald Trump's sweeping tax cut bill faced hurdles in Congress and renewed criticism from Elon Musk. Prospects for the legislation, which also contains deep cuts to social spending programs and clean energy, looked uncertain as senators sparred over numerous amendments. Meanwhile, Trump warned of retribution against Tesla and other Musk ventures after the billionaire railed against the legislation, battering shares of Musk's electric car company. About 25 minutes into trading, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 0.3 percent at 44,214.87. The broad-based S&P 500 dipped 0.1 percent to 6,197.55, while the tech-rich Nasdaq Composite Index declined 0.3 percent to 20,312.16. Shares of Tesla sank around five percent after Trump said he would consider deporting Musk and directing the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to scrutinize the Tesla and SpaceX founder's government subsidies. Musk, a mega-donor to Trump in the 2024 election who headed DOGE before leaving Washington earlier this spring, has called for a new political party in response to Trump's bill. The row weighs on investor sentiment because "Tesla is extraordinarily popular with speculative traders," said Steve Sosnick of Interactive Brokers. "If there's a big drop in that stock, I do think it sort of hurts the mood of the market." Analysts also said the market was poised for a pullback following an end-of-the-quarter influx of money from investors. Among other individual companies, Boeing rose 0.8 percent after it announced it hired Jesus "Jay" Malave as chief financial officer, recruiting the executive from Lockheed Martin. The company also said it named Stephen Parker as head of the company's defense and space division, after previously appointing him acting head.

Madan apologises for rape remark, Manas sparks row with ‘small incident' comment
1 2 3 Kolkata: Kamarhati MLA Madan Mitra on Tuesday replied to the show-cause notice issued to him by Trinamool and apologised for his remarks on the gang-rape at a south Kolkata law college last week. Creating a fresh controversy, however, state irrigation minister Manas Bhunia made a comment about "small incidents" in Bengal. Speaking at a blood donation drive organised at Calcutta Medical College and Hospital, Bhunia said: "The terrorists who killed 26 of our countrymen haven't been arrested yet. But even a small incident in Bengal creates a huge uproar. Incidents take place everywhere. Husbands are killing wives, and wives are pushing husbands off cliffs. These are crises of society. But our chief minister handles all situations with motherly care. " He added: "Don't pay attention to what anyone is saying. Move forward with Mamata Banerjee's ideals." BJP came down heavily on the minister's comments, with the party's Bengal co-minder Amit Malviya saying Trinamool netas were trying to earn "brownie points" by trying to "normalise a rape". by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like How Much Does a Bali Vacation Really Cost? Calling this "the culture of Trinamool", Bengal BJP general secretary Agnimitra Paul said, "Whether it is the Hanskhali girl, or Kasba woman, they have blamed the victim instead of the criminals." Later in the day, Bhunia held a press conference and said: "My words are being distorted. If necessary, I will take legal action. I did not mention the place at all. I never called that crime a minor one. I was talking about incidents in the health sector." TMC state general secretary Kunal Ghosh, too, said the minister's comments were twisted by a section of the media. In a post on X, Trinamool said: "BJP4India has launched a full-scale smear campaign. An excerpt from Shri @ManasB_Official's speech has been maliciously taken out of context, misquoted, and circulated to mislead viewers... Shri Manas Bhunia has issued a strong clarification, unequivocally condemning the incident and exposing BJP's desperate, deceitful narrative. BJP should know that defamation has consequences. No matter how loud the lies, truth will prevail." The party also uploaded a 3-minute clip of the minister's entire speech. Earlier, Mitra responded via WhatsApp to the show-cause notice sent by Trinamool president Subrata Bakshi. He wrote that he would remain eternally loyal to the Mamata Banerjee. "As long as I live, I will be with Trinamool Congress. I apologise and express regret if any of my comments have caused discomfort to the party. However, I request the party to review the complete or unedited video of my statement before making a comprehensive judgment and analysis," he wrote. Mitra had said the gang-rape "sent a message to all girls" that if someone called on a day when college was closed, "don't go".
