Motorist involved in Daly City I-280 crash killed by hit-and-run driver after getting out of vehicle
The initial crash involving four vehicles happened on southbound 280 at about 11:51 p.m. just south of the 19th Avenue onramp, the CHP said on a social media post Thursday. The chain-reaction crash resulted in minor injuries, and the vehicles ended up blocking the #2 lane with three vehicles stopped directly behind the lead vehicle.
The driver of the last vehicle in line, a blue Honda Civic, exited his vehicle and was standing alongside the left side of one of the other involved vehicles to exchange information when a dark-colored coupe or sedan struck him as well as the open door of one of the vehicles, the CHP said. The dark-colored car continued on without stopping.
Medics arrived and took the 25-year-old driver to a hospital where he was pronounced dead about a half-hour later.
The CHP said during the investigation, it was determined that the driver of one vehicles involved in the first crash had been driving under the influence of alcohol. Her white Ford Edge SUV had been damaged in a recent collision, and it appeared she had been driving possibly at a slower speed with major damage to the right front wheel, tire, and axle before being involved in the chain reaction crash, the CHP said. The woman was arrested at the scene for DUI.
The CHP said it was seeking any information that could help investigators identify the dark-colored vehicle, which would have fresh collision damage on the passenger side. The vehicle was also described as having a loud exhaust system. Anyone with information can contact Officer J. Multiple stores looted over weekend near Los Angeles street takeovers
Multiple stores were looted across Los Angeles over the weekend near a series of street takeovers, according to authorities. The first instance was reported at around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday morning near Century Boulevard and Central Avenue in South Los Angeles, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. They say that there was a sideshow in the area just minutes before an AutoZone store was broken into. Though it's unclear if any arrests were made in that incident, video from the scene shows some recovered merchandise that was taken from the store, including car rims and a battery. The next morning, at around 2:45 a.m., police were again called for reports of a burglary near the spot of a street takeover. Officers rushed to S. Figueroa Street and Slauson Avenue, where a T-Mobile store had its windows shattered and the inside ransacked. Investigators still have not said if the two instances are connected. Minutes later, just after 3 a.m., deputies were called to the intersection of Wilmington Avenue and Del Amo Boulevard in Carson because of a different street takeover, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. It was there that a WSS shoe store was burglarized, leading to its closure on Sunday. Employees boarded up the stores windows after the burglary, for which at least two people were arrested, deputies said. No arrests have been reported in either the AutoZone or T-Mobile burglaries.

1 dead after crash involving sedan, semi-truck in Fort Worth, police say
One person has died after a crash involving a sedan and a semi-truck in Fort Worth on Sunday afternoon, police said. Just before 3 p.m., Fort Worth police were called to Trinity Boulevard and Post Oak for a crash, where responding officers saw the crash involved a semi-truck and a sedan.
