They were responding to a calls from
neighbours
who were concerned because the mother had not been seen for several days.
Bodycam footage shows officers calling into the house from the yard, and then breaking to door down when they received no response.

Phoenix Police said: 'Inside the home, they discovered the mother had passed away and her baby was still alive, severely dehydrated and clinging to life.
'The baby was taken to the hospital in critical condition."
Investigators described the infant as "visibly emaciated".
Cops added: "We are happy to report the infant's condition has improved greatly, and they're expected to survive.'

'It wasn't learned until well after the fact from doctors and staff at the hospital that if the police officers didn't immediately provide aid and didn't immediately go into the apartment, the child may not have survived much longer."
Bower praised the "smart, immediate actions of the officers as well as the neighbours seeing something unusual and calling in for help".
The baby is now being looked after by the Department of Child Safety and police are investigating how the mother died.

A BRIT woman has been killed in a jet ski accident in Costa del Sol. 'He failed a breath test after the collision so he's likely to have been arrested but that is not something I can confirm at this stage.' The woman killed is said to have been on holiday.
