Glen Oaks Boulevard to start construction
The plan is to start construction on or around June 16 and be finished in October 2025. According to the press release, 'The project includes the replacement of paving, driveway approaches, sidewalk ramps, and utilities (storm sewer intakes and sanitary sewer manholes) along Glen Oaks Boulevard from Tenton Trace to Outer Drive.'

This project is anticipated to take place through three stages, with each stage taking one to two months to complete. Those stages are one, two, and three, respectively: Tenton Trace to Choctaw Court, Choctaw Court to Aztec Circle, and Aztec Circle to Outer Drive.
While the project is being worked on, a detour route will be available using Indian Hills Drive, Cheyenne Boulevard, and Outer Drive. The City will post the specific detours as they become needed.

SIOUX CENTER, Iowa (KCAU) — The Sioux City Public Museum will soon be offering another tour of the Peirce Mansion and the nearby area. The tour will take place on June 24 and last for approximately two hours, allowing those who attend to check out the Peirce Mansion and the surrounding neighborhood. The mansion was built by Sioux City developer John Peirce. Peirce helped the city grade the hilly area and establish a cable car line that once ran the full length of Jackson Street up to 40th Street. After the house tour, the Jackson Street Walking Tour will begin at 6:30 pm. This leg of the tour will take attendees on a guided tour that explores Jackson Street and the surrounding neighborhood's history. Topics will include notable residents and architecture. SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — Meet today's Stray of the Day! Meet Loki, a 3 to 4-year-old, Male, American Bulldog mix that weighs about 95-pounds. He was found on the 1800 block of Villa Avenue about one-month ago. The rescue said he's a strong guy that loves people. The rescue added he's the kind of dog who loves to run and play but also enjoys just chilling out on the couch sometimes. Loki is available for adoption now. Furry friends help kids practice reading skills at Sioux City library
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — A local library is continuing a yearly program that uses special canine listeners to help children practice their reading skills. The 'Read-To-Me-Dogs' event is a part of the Sioux City Public Library's Summer Reading Program. Children are able to practice their reading skills with the help of gentle canine listeners. Every child was able to read to a specially trained therapy dog for 5-6 minutes. At one point on Tuesday, almost 50 kids were in attendance. 'We know that during the summer it's really important for kids to read because they've gotten that reading proficiency during the school year and when they're home during the summer, we want to keep them reading. So this is a great way for them to come in, practice their reading and keep on reading and maybe a great way just to read out loud,' said Carol Harder, library assistant at Sioux City Public Library.
