Julie Bowen Is in for a 'Modern Family' Reboot. If She's Not Replaced by Sydney Sweeney
Ahead of the Happy Gilmore 2 premiere on Monday, July 21, Bowen admitted, while laughing, that she's said Sweeney's name so "often in this press tour." However, she did have one more joke about being replaced by the up-and-coming star when the topic of a Modern Family reboot came up.
While speaking with Variety, Bowen was asked if she'd be interested in bringing back the beloved ABC sitcom, which ran for 11 seasons.
"I mean, I'll say what I said to Adam [Sander]. Ok, I'll be there, just tell me where to go," Bowen said of the Modern Family reboot. "It's not up to us. If I had the skills to write—the writers on that show were so good. If [Steven] Levitan and [Christopher] Lloyd decide that this is something that they want to do, I'll be there."
"Unless they replace me with Sydney Sweeney," Bowen joked.
Bowen laughed and admitted, "I do love her. It's become a running joke. I've never met her, [but] I have so much respect for her; she's awesome, and I've said her name more times on this press tour."
Sweeney jokes aside, the 2000s sitcom would be a fun reboot possibility, and with many shows being brought back to life, it'll be interesting to see if Modern Family gets a second go-round.Julie Bowen Is in for a 'Modern Family' Reboot. Detroit entrepreneur launches all-in-one platform to help creators monetize work
A former professional basketball player from Detroit is taking his talents from the court to the tech world with one goal in mind: helping creators get paid. Donnavan Kirk is the CEO and president of Creator Connect, a new platform designed to help artists and creatives manage, grow and monetize their work, whether it's physical products or digital content. "It's a marketplace for artists and creators all over the globe," Kirk said. Before launching the platform, Kirk spent nearly two decades pursuing basketball. He played professionally in Lithuania, Cyprus, Greece and Japan, and even launched a youth basketball camp. After retiring from the game, he felt a new calling. "I felt this tug, like, go ahead, get into tech, see where it takes you," he said. "I didn't know how to code a lick." Despite not knowing how to code, Kirk taught himself the ropes and began building Creator Connect, a platform he describes as part Etsy, part Fiverr and part Uber. The platform allows users to browse creators or content they like, submit custom project requests, propose a budget and deadline, and begin the process of closing a deal, all in one place. "What we're basically doing is taking away all that gray area, and saying, 'Hey, look, here's a creator. You may not be able to reach them through a DM, but now you can send them an idea with a budget attached,'" he said. At its core, Kirk says the platform is about empowerment. "I want creators to have freedom, that's my biggest thing. And I want them to get paid rates that make sense," he said. Although Creator Connect is global in scope, Kirk says the energy behind it is purely Detroit. "Now it's game time, and we're here, and we're doing this thing," Kirk said. Chinese lantern festival lighting up Denver park
Four Mile Historic Park is hosting its 3rd annual Bright Nights Lantern Festival. The festival runs about 10-weeks and covers 12-acres of the park. It's an all new display every year. "Everything is different this year. If you've come last year or the year before, you're not going to see anything you've seen before," said Kayla Amos, Marketing and Events Manager at Four Mile Historic Park. The lanterns are large scale metal frames covered in a silk canvas and illuminated from within. Many of the structures move, and there is a whole section of interactive displays in the park. "Some of them are so large you can walk through them. Some of them are games. There's a whole area in the back of games. One's a portal to a show that's happening in Baltimore, so we can see them and they can see us," Amos explained. The lanterns are designed and built by Tianya Arts & Culture, which is a U.S.-based subsidiary of a Chinese company. The company's goal is to create lanterns that mix ancient techniques with innovative technologies. They put together these lantern festivals with organizations across the country. "We've got two themes this year. The first one being Chinese Dreamland as a nod to the company Tianyu who creates these wonderful lanterns. The second nod is to us, Farm Flora and Fauna, so you're going to see things like giant fairies, 9-tale foxes right next to a giant barn that's so big you walk through," Amos said. LINK: For Tickets & Information about Bright Nights at Four Mile Historic Park Four Mile Historic Park's Bright Nights is open Wednesday through Sunday from July 23 to October, 5, 2025. There are three adults only nights, when the park is open to only people who are 21-years and older. Those nights are July 30, August 27, and September 17, 2025.
