Cristin Milioti, known for her remarkable character in How I Met Your Mother, officially joins an upcoming horror movie.
From portraying a short yet iconic role in the hit CBS show, the 39-year-old actress will once again captivate viewers with a chilling performance.
The soon-to-be-released movie titled Buddy is an independent horror thriller, described as 'a new experience in horror,' further heightening anticipation among genre fans.
Meanwhile, as production continues, executives are keeping the plot tightly under wraps to maintain the film's mystery.
Helmed by Casper Kelly, who is best known for co-creating Adult Swim shows like the horror comedy Too Many Cooks and Your Pretty Face Is Going to Hell, the project was written by Kelly and Jamie King (World's Best) as cited by Deadline.
Producing the project are BoulderLight Pictures' J.D. Lifshitz and Raphael Margules together with Tyler Davidson and Drew Sykes for Low Spark Films, which co-financed the project in association with Sipur Studios and Substance.
In addition, Tracy Rosenblum, BoulderLight's VP of Development and Production, is executive producing Buddy.
As mentioned, Milioti is best known for her role as the Mother in the American sitcom, but also gained recognition for her portrayal of Sofia Falcone in the drama series The Penguin with Colin Farrell.
She also returned to her role in Black Mirror's 'USS Callister: Into Infinity" as Captain Nanette Cole.
Interestingly, she is also booked and busy with forthcoming projects including the FX pilot Seven Sisters, which stars Elizabeth Olsen.

The American Eagle ad with the Euphoria star, has been making rounds on social media, addressing their concern with the messaging. In the ad which promotes their new line of jeans, Sweeney plays the role of "jeans" by sharing that she has great "genes." 'Genes are passed down from parents to offspring, often determining traits like hair color, personality, and even eye color," she says as the camera pans to her face. 'My jeans are blue.' A narrator is then heard saying, 'Sydney Sweeney has great jeans.' The ad has been dividing fans online as some found it plays on the use of eugenics which is defined as, "is broadly defined as the use of selective breeding to improve the human race," according to the National Institute of Health. "It's difficult because before I had children, I could do 'girl dinner,'" she explained. "I could slice off a few slices of cheese. I could eat a handful of Tostitos chips. I could eat an apple with peanut butter, and that could constitute my dinner." But now as a parent, Kylie revealed that now as a mom, "we have to eat three meals a day" rather than be able to put together a low effort meal for the family. "The decision-making is overwhelming.
