It's yet another winning quarter for Netflix. The streaming giant earned $11.1 billion in revenue and $3.1 billion in net income in its second quarter, the company reported Thursday, exceeding Wall Street's forecasts. The company also said, in its biannual engagement report, that its subscribers watched more than 95 billion hours in the first half of 2025, a 1% increase from a year earlier. The top hits from the second quarter included new seasons of recurring shows such as "Ginny & Georgia" and "Squid Game" and new shows such as "Sirens" and "The Four Seasons" and films including Tyler Perry's "Straw" and "Nonnas," starring Vince Vaughn. The company's animated film " KPop Demon Hunters " generated 80 million views and has become one of its most popular in that category.Netflix's second quarter also reaffirmed the company's commitment to its live programming. It announced plans for a reboot of the popular 1980s talent competition show "Star Search" in 2026 and for a middleweight boxing match between Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford this year. And its all-female fight night, headlined by Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano, which aired last week, generated 6 million viewers worldwide, a far cry from the numbers generated from the enormous Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul spectacle last year but a record-setter as the most-watched female sports event in 2025."Netflix's announcements this past quarter make it look like a traditional TV network," Mike Proulx, a research director at the analytics company Forrester, said in a statement. The streaming giant is also riding high on this week's Emmy nominations, racking up 120 across 44 different titles. The out-of-nowhere British drama "Adolescence" nabbed 13 nominations, including best limited series or anthology. (The company's haul was bested only by HBO Max, which brought in 142 nominations.)Later this year, the company will release the final season of "Stranger Things," a new season of "Wednesday" and movies including Guillermo del Toro's "Frankenstein," Kathryn Bigelow's "A House of Dynamite" and a sequel to Adam Sandler's "Happy Gilmore."Overall viewership of Netflix rose in June, according to Nielsen. Netflix's share of all TV use totaled 8.3%, a jump of close to 1% since May, but still smaller than YouTube, which accounted for 12.8% of all viewing.Netflix's results, near the start of the earnings season, are often seen as the harbinger for other corporate results. The company said in its shareholder letter that it was raising its revenue guidance for the full year based on "healthy member growth and ad sales."Its ad-supported member tier, which increased to $7.99 from $6.99 at the beginning of the year, has been of great interest to Wall Street, even though the company has previously said it does not expect it to be a big revenue driver in 2025.

Mandala Murders Ending Explained: Does Vaani Kapoor's fight against Surveen Chawla end in this season?

Disclaimer: This article contains spoilers. Mandala Murders is a story that promises to keep you hooked! The gripping psychological thriller revolves around the town of Charandaspur, where unusual and sinister killings take place under the pretext of centuries-old tradition. Vaani Kapoor (Rea Thomas) and her partner Vaibhav Raj Gupta (Vikram Singh) investigate the ritualistic murders conducted by a secret cult called Aayastis. Mandala Murders Plot The Aayastis are obsessed with the Aayast Yantra, an instrument that can control universal energy. They are attempting to create a god like being named Yast by assembling human body parts according to an ancient ritual. The cult believes that through this unnatural creator, they can usher in a new divine era. They think that this ritual will transform the world, cleansing it of those deemed unworthy. Digging deep in the mystery, the detectives, Rea and Vaibhav, uncover a chilling blueprint linked to fate, prophecy, and fanatic belief. As Rea is determined to stop these horrifying killings, Ananya Bharadwaj (Surveen Chawla), a political figure, will stop at nothing to complete the Yast project as it's her grandmothers's legacy. Her grandmother is Rukmini (Shriya Pilgaonkar), the Mahamani of the Ayastis who started the ritual in 1952. Mandala Murders Ending Explained The series culminates in a tense confrontation between Rea and Ananya as the Aayastis prepare to sacrifice Vikram. The threat to Vikram personalizes Rea's fight against Ananya. Ananya and her followers are ready to perform the ritual, and just as they are about to carry out the blood sacrifice, Rea arrives to intervene. She stabs Ananya at the moment as the latter attempts to kill Vikram, disrupting the ritual and preventing Yast's full resurrection. However, despite this victory, the presence of the cult members indicates that the threat is not over. While the immediate danger has been halted, the series ends on an uncertain note. The final scenes suggest that some cult members remain at large, and the ideology behind Yast has not been fully eliminated. The shadow of the Ayastis continues to loom over Charandaspur, leaving the door open for future conflicts. These unresolved threads imply that the story could continue in a second season, exploring how the battle between darkness and justice evolves. Mandala Murders is an 8-episode Netflix series that premiered on July 25, 2025.

Netflix reveals first look of Pride and Prejudice starring Louis Partridge, Emma Corrin. Fans express their scepticism

Netflix has officially started production on its new 'Pride and Prejudice' limited series, sharing a first look and revealing a star-studded supporting cast. Filming is now underway in the U.K., with the show set to be a faithful adaptation of Jane Austen's timeless 1813 novel. The six-part series is led by Emma Corrin (The Crown, Nosferatu) as Elizabeth Bennet, Jack Lowden (Slow Horses) as Mr. Darcy, and Oscar winner Olivia Colman (The Favourite, The Crown) as the outspoken Mrs. Bennet. They are joined by Rufus Sewell as Mr. Bennet, Freya Mavor as Jane Bennet, and Jamie Demetriou as the awkward Mr. Collins. Daryl McCormack will play Mr. Bingley, while Louis Partridge takes on the role of Mr. Wickham. Rhea Norwood plays Lydia Bennet, Siena Kelly stars as Caroline Bingley, and Fiona Shaw appears as the formidable Lady Catherine de Bourg. Hopey Parish and Hollie Avery make their screen debuts as Mary and Kitty Bennet, completing the Bennet sisters' lineup. Additional cast includes Anjana Vasan, Sebastian Armesto, Rosie Cavaliero (Kaos), Saffron Coomber, James Dryden, Justin Edwards, James Northcote, Eloise Webb and Isabella Sermon. The series is directed by Euros Lyn (Heartstopper) and written by Dolly Alderton, known for her work on Everything I Know About Love. Alderton also serves as executive producer alongside Corrin, Laura Lankester, Lyn, Will Johnston, and Louise Mutter for Lookout Point. Lisa Osborne is producing the series. The majority of the audience has expressed their scepticism. Many of them even asked whether Netflix's adaptation will match that of Kiera Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen's 'Pride and Prejudice'. One person commented, 'Feels like Bridgerton's success is making every studio rush into Regency again. Overkill? (sic).' Another person wrote, 'Corrin is talented, but can anyone really match Keira Knightley's Lizzie? (sic).' Raising concerns about the colour palette, a third person wrote, 'Why is literally everything drab, washed out, devoid of any actual color? This looks like one of those modern medieval films where everything is flipping GREY (sic).' With a respected team both behind and in front of the camera, this adaptation aims to bring Austen's world of wit, romance and social manners to a new generation of viewers.
