How to watch the 2025 British Grand Prix, F1's big midseason test

Formula One heads to Silverstone for the season's halfway mark. It's Round 12 of 24, and nothing has gone to plan.
If the home of F1 shows anything like Austria, expect fireworks this Fourth of July weekend. Max Verstappen's Lap 1 DNF at Red Bull's home circuit jolted the standings and handed McLaren a dominant 1-2 finish. Lando Norris now looks like a genuine title contender, and McLaren leads the constructors' championship by more than 200 points.

Dates: July 4-6
Race coverage can also be streamed on ESPN+.
This weekend's race isn't just a homecoming — it's a crucible. Red Bull, once untouchable, suddenly looks vulnerable. George Russell will race under a microscope, and Verstappen's grip on the title has never looked shakier.
Behind the racing line, team politics churn. Toto Wolff acknowledged Mercedes will evaluate options for 2026 but dismissed reports of talks with Verstappen. While the grid is stable now, every lap could ripple into future lineups.
Norris is the favorite to win the GP at BetMGM, with teammate Oscar Piastri close behind. Verstappen, once the undisputed favorite, sits third. For the title, Piastri leads at -200, Norris has climbed to +150 and Verstappen now trails at +1400. What seemed like a formality in March has become a dogfight.
Then, there's Silverstone itself. Seventy-five years ago, Formula One began here. It's also where Nigel Mansell took victory in 1987 as thousands surged past barriers to meet him. Silverstone doesn't just award points — it offers immortality.
With McLaren surging, Verstappen stumbling and two Brits in the hunt, legacy leads.

Trump to host UFC fight at White House as part of "America250" celebrations

President Trump will host a UFC fight at the White House as part of celebrations marking 250 years since the signing of the U.S. Declaration of Independence, he announced during a Thursday rally in Iowa. The big picture: "Every one of our national park battlefields and historic sites are going to have special events in honor of ' America250 ' and I even think we're going to have a UFC fight," Trump said on the eve of the July 4th holiday during a speech at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines. Trump said Ultimate Fighting Championship CEO Dana White was going to organize the event. It's going to be a "championship fight, full fight, like 20,000 to 25,000 people and we're going to do that as part of '250' also," Trump said. What they're saying: White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said Trump is "dead serious" about the UFC fight plans, per a White House pool report.
