Lava Shark 5G in Stellar Gold and Stellar Blue
Shark 5G gets a 6.75-inch IPS LCD with HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. The panel sports a waterdrop notch, which houses its 5MP front-facing camera. There's a 13MP main cam on the back and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner embedded in the power button.
Shark 5G is equipped with the Unisoc T765 chipset, which is paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. The device also supports storage expansion via microSD cards. It's IP54 water and dust resistant and features a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The software front is covered by Android 15 while the battery comes in at 5,000mAh and supports up to 18W charging.
Lava Shark 5G comes in Stellar Gold and Stellar Blue colors and is priced at INR 7,999 ($93) for the 4/64GB trim. Lava is taking orders from its official online store in India as well as physical Lava stores across the country.

Samsung confirms it will soon be expanding One UI 8 beta to more phones, tablets, and watches
Samsung is getting ready to open up its One UI 8 beta to a wider group of Galaxy devices. The software, which brings new AI-powered features and interface upgrades, will become available to more users starting August 11th. The beta will originally be available for the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Z Flip 6 in the U.S., U.K., India, and South Korea. Over the next few weeks, Samsung will then open it up to more devices, like the Galaxy S23 lineup, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5, the Galaxy Tab S10 series, and two budget devices such as the Galaxy A36 5G and Galaxy A35 5G. As usual, those interested will be able to sign up through the Samsung Members app. Samsung says this update is a big step toward making Galaxy devices more intelligent. The company is adding multimodal AI features that let people interact with their devices using a mix of voice, touch, images, and text. These tools are meant to make the phone feel more natural and helpful in everyday tasks. The update, which is already available for the Galaxy Watch 8, includes design improvements and new health features. Specific models have not been named yet. This time around, Samsung seems more comfortable pushing these beta updates early, unlike what we saw last year with the One UI 7 beta rollout. Google has also rolled out Android 16 betas for its Pixel phones until the final release, and continues to do so with its QPR (quarterly) updates. Apple is also pushing its iOS/iPadOS 26 betas on a timely basis, signaling that this might be a good year as fast as software updates across the board. For Samsung, how successful the One UI 8 rollout turns out to be will come down to how useful users find its new features to be. Some may find them helpful, while others might ignore them. But the wider beta gives Galaxy fans a good chance to try it out and decide for themselves.

One UI 8 beta coming to Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6 next week

Next week, the company will expand the program to last year's flagships. Starting next week, owners of the following models in the US, the UK, India and South Korea will be able to sign up for One UI 8 beta through the Samsung Members app: Samsung Galaxy S24, S24+, S24 Ultra, S24 FE, Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6. Samsung Galaxy S24 • Samsung Galaxy S24+ • Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra Samsung Galaxy S24 FE • Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 • Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6 Again, this is for the beta – the stable release is coming at a later date and will incorporate feedback from the beta program. This release is scheduled to roll out in September for the Galaxy S25 series and expand to other product lines in sequence. People with older phones will have to wait longer.
