ASTRO Rapper JinJin Exempted From Military Service Due To Autoimmune Condition
On the 2nd June (Monday), entertainment agency, Fantagio (판타지오), revealed that K-pop group ASTRO's (아스트로) leader JinJin (진진) has been excused from serving in the military. The rapper was exempted from military service because of health reasons involving an autoimmune condition.
With ASTRO member Cha Eun Woo (차은우) releasing his enlistment dates last month (29th May), AROHAs (ASTRO fans) have been wondering when the 29-year-old leader would start serving his country. Speculation grew across fan communities, with many expressing support and curiosity about JinJin's plans.
According to Fantagio's statement, JinJin had been going to medical checkups but was deemed by his doctor to be unfit for military service. The idol had been suffering from issues relating to a disorder where the body's immune system mistakenly attacks its healthy tissues and cells. While the condition isn't too severe, it requires the idol to have frequent visits to the hospital for examinations.
While the singer himself hasn't made any updates on how he is doing, AROHAs shared well wishes on JinJin's Instagram to wish him good health. We also hope that JinJin would focus on his health following this recent diagnosis.

Finas committed to take local talents to international stage
Finas chairman Datuk Hans Isaac said the achievements of local actors in the foreign film industry are gaining prominence and need to be supported comprehensively. Photo: Hand Isaac/Instagram The National Film Development Corporation of Malaysia (Finas) is committed to boosting the presence of local talents and works at the international level through various strategic initiatives, including support funds, participation in world film festivals and cross-government agency collaboration. Its chairman Datuk Hans Isaac said the achievements of local actors in the foreign film industry are gaining prominence and need to be supported comprehensively to become a catalyst for the development of the country's creative industry. "Finas is very proud and fully supports the success of local production companies and individual talents who have succeeded in penetrating the international market. This success proves that our creative industry can be accepted and compete at the international level," he said. He added that among the main initiatives provided by Finas are the Creative Content Fund (DKK), Film In Malaysia Incentive (FIMI), human capital development funds and international market participation funds, as well as promotions and facilities for high-potential works. Hans said Finas also provides international synergy routes through participation in major world film festivals and markets such as Cannes, Berlinale and Busan, as well as establishing collaborations with agencies such as the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI), embassies and foreign agencies as facilitators for local industry players. He said the long-term goal is to produce more successors to international industry figures such as Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh and Henry Golding, as well as behind-the-scene professionals. Among the local talents currently stealing attention abroad is young actor Irfan Zaini who has the opportunity to star in a film in India with the country's famous star, Vijay, thus making him one of Malaysia's new faces on the global stage. Irfan, who was previously active on the local screen, described cross-country collaborations as the best space to gain experience and bring Malaysia's name to a higher level in the film world. Commenting on the development, Hans described Irfan's success as a tribute to the industry and a testament to the abilities of local people if given the opportunity and support. "I hope Irfan will take this opportunity to bring glory to the country's creative industry and be an example to other industry players. Finas is very proud of his achievements," he said. – Bernama

#SHOWBIZ: Dancer Lee Kai Yin shares first photo of face since 2022 'Mirror accident'
HONG KONG: Injured dancer Lee Kai Yin, also known as Ah Mo, has shared a close-up photo of himself for the first time in three years. The 30-year-old was critically injured in July 2022 when a huge LED screen fell on him during a concert by the popular Hong Kong boy band Mirror at the Hong Kong Coliseum. Lee sustained a severe spinal injury and remained in critical condition for over a month. Reports at the time indicated he faced the possibility of paralysis from the neck down. Hong Kong media have since reported that he has left the territory to continue his treatment overseas. On July 23, Lee posted several photos on Instagram, including one of himself in a wheelchair. Although filters were used on his face, the tattoos on his chest and one of his arms matched those in his older photographs. A scar was visible near his collarbone in the latest photo, likely caused by a tracheostomy tube in his neck. "It's me!" he wrote. "I was encouraged by what the daughter of an optical shop owner said yesterday, so I'm going to share some of the little things that have made me feel good lately and see if I can pick up energy from you all." His girlfriend, So Ching, a former member of the Hong Kong girl group Collar, reposted his update on Instagram Stories, adding: "If I were half as strong as him." In December 2024, Lee posted his first photo from the hospital on Instagram, showing only his hand, with his father, Pastor Derek Li, beside him. "Probably the only human being who loves me so much and actually cares about my every nanometre bit of improvement every single day," Lee had written then.

British singer Harry Styles aims to please – literally! The 'Watermelon Sugar' star recently unveiled a new collection of adult toys under his lifestyle brand, Pleasing. On 24th July 2025 (Thursday), the pop star unveiled the new line of products on the Pleasing website. Harry has been teasing the launch in the past few days, with fans quickly picking up that it was for adult toys, given the age restriction on the website. The 'Pleasing Yourself' collection features two products, or 'intimacy tools' as the website puts it: the 'Pleasing Double-Sided Vibrator' and 'The Pleasing Lube'. According to reports, the launch of NSFW items under Pleasing is part of the lifestyle brand's 'radical pursuit of that which feels good'. The vibrator was designed in partnership with sex educator and author Zoë Ligon to 'delight a kaleidoscope of bodies, desires and curiosities'. The electronic tool is priced at RM303 and will be available to order soon, along with the lube, priced at RM112 for 100ml. Pleasing was launched in November 2021 and began as a gender-neutral skin and nail care brand. Since then, the brand has released other products, including apparel, accessories and fragrances. As part of its newest launch, the brand is also holding a pop-up in New York City, called 'The Pleasing Pleasure Shop'. According to the announcement post, the pop-up is a 'first-of-its-kind Pleasing experience'. Fans have since reacted to Harry's new line of products, mostly expressing amusement. While some were initially surprised, they added that the launch seemed suitable for Harry's image and branding, given his advocacy for self-love. Others also joked about the new products, quipping that the singer is releasing adult toys before a new album.
