Lynne McGranger's heartbreaking final Home and Away storyline revealed as her beloved character Irene is set to face devastating illness
Irene Roberts, played by the legendary Lynne McGranger, will be leaving screens in the coming months after three decades on the hit Aussie series.
It has been revealed that the tough-talking, lovable character's final storyline, which is currently in motion, will grip the nation.
In recent weeks, Irene has battled with distressing memory loss, including a moment where she forgot she was babysitting Archie and nearly left him at home by himself.
Next week, Irene will take her first step in coming face-to-face with the truth, with the help of dear friend, John Palmer, played by Shane Withington.

After John pushes Irene to meet with Dr Bree Cameron, played by Juliet Godwin, for a medical consultation, the reality of the situation becomes hard to shake off: There's no coming back from this one.
As word spreads about her condition, the Summer Bay community will rally around the much-loved character and get her through her toughest challenge.
In March, it was revealed that Lynne had filmed her final scenes as Irene on Home and Away, with the series sharing moving scenes from her last day on set.
The 72-year-old was gifted flowers by her co-stars, including Ada Nicodemou, and looked very emotional - albeit elated - as she finished up at Seven's long-running series after over 30 years in the cast.
'I've had the ride of my life. And I love each and every one of you so much: The cast – Ray, Georgie, Emily, Shane, Ada, James, all the youngins' she said in a statement.
'The art department, the writers, everybody – there are so many unsung heroes. This show is made up of so many parts' Lynne continued.
'You're all amazing, and it's been my great privilege to work with each and every one of you. I'm touched, I'm humbled and I'm so honoured. Thank you so much.'
An additional post to the show's Instagram read: 'Today, Lynne wrapped her final scene with her best friend Ada by her side.
'Stay tuned for Irene's emotional exit storyline coming later this year'.
Lynne has been a Home and Away fan favourite for three decades playing the character of 'Aussie battler' Irene Roberts.
The actress, who is nominated for both a Silver and Gold Logie at this year's 65th Awards, announced her departure from the show earlier this year.
'After almost 33 years in my dream role and working every day with people who I love, respect and whom I now consider family, it's bittersweet to be closing the chapter on what has been the best and longest gig of my life' the veteran star said at the time.
'I am forever grateful to the best production crew in the world and to our genius writers – whose doors are always open – for everything they have done for Irene over the past 33-odd years' she continued.
'And I am so proud of the storyline which will see Irene out of the Bay. Above all, a massive, heartfelt thank you to the fans for your continued love and support.'

James May: ‘When I'm mistaken for Jeremy Clarkson, I have to go home and examine myself very deeply'
James May. But what would James Definitely Not? All sorts of things. Skydiving. Morris dancing. Living as a monk. Agricultural work. Being a high court judge. Anything that involves dressing up. I'm not too fussy about food. I can't think of anything I wouldn't eat, although I have a strange ambivalence about broccoli. I can't make my mind up about it and it infuriates people. People say: you're not doing it properly. I think: how do you know how I'm doing it? I've heard you can roast it with bits of bacon, garlic and olive oil. In which case, it's not only broccoli any more, is it? Why does the water flow anticlockwise down the plug hole in Australia but clockwise in the UK? Because of the rotation of the Earth. If you go to the equator – and I've done this – you can do an experiment with a bucket of water with a hole in the bottom. If you stand exactly on the equator and drop in a matchstick, it will stay stationary. If you walk north of the equator 100 paces, it starts going around one way. If you walk south, it starts going the other way. It's quite a boring experiment and you have to have absolutely nothing else left to do in your life. If you could have a sandwich named after you, what would you call it? I think sandwiches are crap. I'm making a series on YouTube called Sarnies of the 70s, where we dig up these terrible old fillings like Spam and Branston pickle. It's fascinating to remember what we ate when I was a child. But I describe sandwiches – and I'm afraid I also think this about pizza – as crisis food. Nobody ever says: I can't be bothered to cook tonight. Should we go out for a sandwich? No one wants a sandwich. You are reduced to having a sandwich. Both you and Clarkson own pubs. In the event of a zombie apocalypse, which pub would you rather be stuck at? Oh, mine. It's in Wiltshire. We're heavily armed down here. People queue up at Clarkson's. There's queueing protocol going on, which I don't like. We've had this argument many times. The whole point of the bar in a pub is that it's wide and shallow. It's not a hatch. Why would you queue at it? Good bar people know the order in which to serve. Alan Davies told us in this very column that he gets mistaken for you. Who do you get mistaken for, if not Alan Davies? I have been mistaken for Alan Davies. I've been told I look like King Théoden from Lord of the Rings. Robert Plant is very flattering. Billy Connolly is flattering. Unfortunately, quite a few times when I've been out walking or riding my bike around London, I've been mistaken for Jeremy Clarkson. I have to go home, examine myself very deeply and think: what have I done? The small print on your new tour, Explorers, warns of 'occasional scent, fog and other immersive theatrical elements'. What is your favourite occasional scent? Good question. I like all the obvious nature scents like flowers, freshly mown grass and rain falling on a hot pavement. I like the smell of bicycle shops because I like that smell of rubber and rubber solution. It's not a pervy or fetish thing. I like the smell of freshly pumped petrol, which smells exactly like what it isn't – which is delicious. If you get petrol in your mouth because you're siphoning it from the lawnmower, it tastes absolutely foul. But when it's coming out of the pump into your car, it's got almost a mango juice smell to it. What's been your most cringeworthy run-in with a celebrity? I haven't had any, really. I've never run up to Alan Davies and said: 'I love Top Gear. Can I have your autograph?' Would you rather die at the bottom of the ocean or deep out into space? I've wondered about dying in space. The Apollo 11 lunar module was too fragile to test on Earth, so what if it hadn't worked? They'd have been stuck on the moon for eternity. How do you end it? Do you just sit there and gradually suffocate? Or do you take off your space helmet, take a deep breath, open the door and effectively boil? Dying at the bottom of the ocean feels particularly dark and lonely. I'm going to go for space because the view in the last few seconds would be better. If you could change the size of any animal and keep it as a pet, what would you choose? A miniature elephant. I was going to say a tiger. But then you can just have a domestic cat, can't you? A miniature great white shark in a pond in your garden would be pretty cool. If you had miniature blue whales in an aquarium, they'd come up to the surface and blow off in miniature. I'd like that. Who is your biggest nemesis? Honestly, it's probably Jeremy Clarkson. James May's show Explorers – The Age of Discovery tours Australia and New Zealand from 29 July, and the UK from 20 September

PR queen Roxy Jacenko shows off her ample bust in tiny crop top after $20,000 breast revision surgery
Roxy Jacenko has flaunted her ample cleavage following her $20,000 breast revision surgery. The PR queen, who underwent a breast augmentation in March after discovering one of her implants had ruptured, took to Instagram on Saturday to share a selfie of her with her son Hunter. 'Forever', she captioned the post, which showed Roxy looking radiant as she put her arm around her son, who pulled a grumpy face for the selfie. The 44-year-old pulled her blonde locks back with a hair clip and rocked a glowy tan and natural makeup look. Roxy put on a busty display as she poured out of her tiny white sports bra to reveal the results of her recent breast augmentation. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. In May, Roxy revealed that she was suffering from bad back pain just two months after undergoing the surgery. She shared a photo to Instagram of a private text message exchange she had with her husband Oliver Curtis. During the conversation, she told Oliver she was suffering from a very bad back but he questioned whether the pain could be from her recent surgery after she went up a size from her previous implants. 'My back is f**ked,' she wrote. 'What from? Boobs being too big?' he asked Roxy. '[Could] be that, didn't think of it. Bro for $20K it would be remiss of me not to get my monies worth. Just saying,' she responded. Roxy underwent breast revision surgery in March after discovering one of her implants had ruptured. The procedure was handled by 'boob' specialist Dr Anoop Rastogi and the PR Queen was spotted out and about in Double Bay just two days later. Daily Mail Australia understands Roxy went up a size from her previous implants. She returned back to work at her Talent and PR agency, The Ministry of Talent, the following week. Prior to her surgery, Roxy told Daily Mail Australia that while the rupture occurred in one implant only, she would be having both removed and replaced. 'I'll be having the implants removed in two weeks, and replaced at the same time,' she said. The rupture was discovered during a routine MRI that is part of her annual cancer check-up. She hadn't been in for one in two years. She said that while she suffered some initial shock at the news, an implant rupture wasn't entirely unexpected. 'I was somewhat shocked when I received the update, but I guess it's par for the course when you put something in which really isn't meant to be there,' Roxy said. 'During radiation, when I was being treated for breast cancer, I had capsular contractor on the same side, so revision surgery is not something I haven't had to do before.' In May, Roxy revealed that she was suffering from bad back pain just two months after undergoing the surgery Despite the health scare, Roxy said that she has not considered removing her implants altogether. 'Not at all, I have had them since I was 24,' she said. 'If anything, what it reminds me is not to be so ignorant about doing annual check-ups regarding my previous cancer diagnosis.' She even had advice for women who were considering implants for themselves. 'If you aren't happy with what God gave you, change it,' she said. 'I am all about doing what is right for you, and not worrying about what other people think. I am not the first with a rupture and wont be the last.' Roxy was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2016 at the age of 36, and endured a six-week radiation program before receiving partial removal surgery.

Braith Anasta's ex fiancée Rachael Lee celebrates her engagement to Bra Boys boyfriend Evan Faulks with intimate party
The ex-fiancée of NRL star Braith Anasta celebrated her recent engagement to her Bra Boys boyfriend Evan Faulks with an intimate party on Saturday. Rachael Lee, who made headlines in May after Faulks got down on one knee, took to Instagram to share a slew of snaps and videos of the special day. The happy couple celebrated their engagement with cheese boards, fruit skewers and a metre-long pavlova, as well as a cake decorated with daisies and blueberries. Rachael was glowing in a maroon patterned dress that dramatically fell to the floor and she accessorised her outfit with a chunky brown belt and cardigan. Her husband-to-be opted for neutral tones in a white t-shirt, cream-coloured chinos and sandals. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. 'I'll love you forever...' she captioned one picture, which showed the happy couple gleaming as Rachael showed off her engagement ring. 'Celebrating our love w family & friends.. Forever blessed,' she captioned another. Braith Anasta's ex Rachael announced her engagement two years after her split with the NRL star, who has played for teams such as Sydney Roosters and Wests Tigers. The mother-of-two announced the exciting news in an Instagram post in May, sharing a video and pictures of Evan proposing during a trip to Uluru. In the clip, Evan could be seen getting down on one knee in a romantic outback setting at sunset. With tears of joy streaming down her face, the couple embraced and kissed. 'I knew from the moment I seen you, it was going to be forever - The universe always has a plan.. I love you always x,' Rachael wrote in the caption. 'FuturesMrsFaulks yippiiieee xx.' Rachael looked ethereal in the video, wearing a boho chic two-piece ensemble featuring a long skirt and a matching top tied at the front. It comes after she opened up about her relationship with Evan in April. She told The Sunday Telegraph her romance is 'so beautiful and deep' and Evan was an amazing presence in her children Addison, 13, and seven-year-old Gigi's lives. 'My relationship with Evan is something I've never had before,' she said. 'I feel so beyond lucky to have him in mine, Addi and Gigi's lives. Evan is such an honest, loyal and kind soul and a really great father and partner.' She also hinted they have 'really exciting future plans happening together'. Rachael added that she and Braith have been navigating the role of co- parenting their daughter Gigi. 'Co-parenting comes with its ups and downs, and a lot of agreeing to disagree,' she added. Evan has been romantically involved with Rachael since the start of last year. They reportedly met at Crown Plaza in Coogee over Christmas the year before and were photographed together in public for the first time in May 2024 celebrating her 36th birthday. In 2023, Evan was extradited from Queensland following a sprawling 18-month investigation into alleged drug consignments intercepted by US authorities. Police allege he was a 'high-ranking member' of the Maroubra-based Bra Boys surf gang. Evan faced court on March 19, 2024, charged with knowingly directing the activities of a criminal group, knowingly dealing with proceeds of crime with intent to conceal and dealing with property worth more than $100,000, which was suspected to be the proceeds of a crime. The first two charges were withdrawn on that date, and Evan pleaded not guilty to the third. Evan has been subjected to strict bail conditions, including remaining on good behaviour, reporting to Maroubra police station between 8am and 8pm every Monday, Wednesday and Friday and not going within 500m of any point of international departure. Rachael and Braith confirmed their split in November, 2022, following months of rumours. One month later, Rachael debuted her romance with Blake Hillen, a bricklayer and amateur boxer from the Sutherland Shire. However, a source told Daily Mail Australia in 2023 that Rachael and Blake were once 'inseparable', but were now off - with both unfollowing each other on Instagram, and she later found love with Evan. Braith went on to date Evie Tziomakis, but a source confirmed they had parted ways in June, 2024.
