Dating app horror: I discovered he got a girl pregnant after finding him on Bumb
We'd only broken up about four months ago, and granted it was my decision to end the relationship, but it seemed so soon.
At just 20 years old I thought it surely had to be a joke. So, my curiosity got the better of me and I dropped him a message and straight up asked him if it was true.
Yes it is , he wrote. He went on to tell me that in his 'rebound' relationship after me, he'd only been using 'the pullout' method, and it hadn't gone to plan.
The real shocker? This happened about two weeks after we'd broken up.
The woman, who was a few years older than him had decided to keep the baby, even though it was clear they weren't going to stay together. Honestly, all power to her.
This was why he was on Bumble looking for his forever person, and in fairness, I saluted him for being upfront about his situation.
He was also still being very supportive to the mother of his child and is, to this day, from what I can see from sporadic Facebook posts, a great dad.

To my shock, he asked if I'd ever be willing to get back together and be a stepmother to his kid, but as I'd barely entered my twenties, I didn't feel that was the path for me – plus none of the reasons we'd broken up had changed.
Why am I telling you this story? Well, it came up in the ever hot topic of dating apps in the latest episode of Metro's sex and relationships podcast: Just Between Us.
Our caller had met her long distance boyfriend-to-be (hopefully) on Hinge, which my co-host Diana Vickers and I agreed is the most relationship friendly app of the bunch.
I met my long-term partner Sam on Hinge after coming across his dreamy blue eyes and making the first move, and nearly two years in, it's been my best decision to date.
But with the benefits of dating apps come the downsides too – one of them being that cheating has become much easier.
This is something both our caller Rebecca and I had experienced, and it really does suck. In fact, this negative experience gave us both a form of anxious attachment – but you can learn more about that in the episode.
Before the apps, you had to actively go out and look for someone to cheat with, but in the age of Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, Feeld and more, the temptation is just a tap or two away.
Being scorned does feel like a pretty universal experience too, with YouGov stats indicating that 48% of Brits have been cheated on. Furthermore, 33% admit to cheating on their partner.
Diana had a similar experience when she realised she'd nearly become The Other Woman.
For most stand up comedians their arena is a stadium. For Ted Pullin, it's his kitchen table and a microphone wedged on the end of a wooden spoon.
His quintessentially brutal British humour has exploded in popularity on TikTok, where he roasts people's dating profiles – no holds barred.
The videos show screenshots of someone's dating profile and he then savagely picks them apart in excruciating detail, commenting on facial expressions, poses, outfit choices and poor chat.

So I sent mine in to be roasted. Questioning which online persona from my profile would actually turn up on a date, he said: 'Will it be the f**k-off-face dog-thief or will it be the melanin intolerant Brit abroad?'
Honestly, who knows?
I got called out for attempting to flex my celebrity following, but upon hearing it consists of John Cena, Ted said: 'If I was a nine-year-old boy, that would get me really excited.'

Women's Aid calls out Love Island for showing 'unhealthy patterns of behaviour'
Women's Aid has spoken up after Love Island contestant Harrison, and others, were slammed by viewers for their petrifying behaviour. The reality show hosted by Maya Jama has returned for another season of love triangles, shocking betrayals and unexpected sparks, but one contestant, Harrison, has left a bad taste in people's mouths. After arriving in the villa, Harrison formed a connection with Toni but when he went over to Casa Amor he struck up a relationship with another woman, Lauren, who he brought back to the main villa. After being intimate with her not once, but twice, without Toni's knowledge, it seemed as though he was still stringing her along, leading fans to call his behaviour out. In the latest episode, Toni decided to recouple with Harrison, a decision which provoked upset from even her mum who took to social media to express her dismay at the decision. Other men who have been called out for their behaviour include Harry and Ben, whom Maya herself criticised in the show after comments they made about the women's sexual history and looks. In a new statement in response to Harrison and the other men's behaviour on the show, Women's Aid -a national charity working to end domestic abuse against women & children – released a statement to The Tab. 'In recent years, Love Island and other forms of reality TV have been repeatedly called out by viewers for allowing in contestants that had a history of abusive, coercive and manipulative behaviour in previous relationships. 'As a result, production companies have been more careful when it comes to selecting contestants and calling out toxic behaviours when we see them,' the statement started. Communications manager Jess Wyrne added, however, that 'despite these positive steps, we still see unhealthy patterns of behaviour on these shows, showing just how steeped in misogyny and sexism our society still is.' She continued: 'Women are often lied to, slut-shamed and manipulated, as well as laughed at behind their backs.' Warning of the links between misogyny and sexism leading to 'tolerance of abuse and violence' they added this publicly displayed behaviour 'reinforces a culture that excuses and trivialises violence against women and girls'. The charity has urged more to be done to 'educate contestants' on these issues and praised viewers for calling this toxic behaviour out when they see it. It is not the first time Women's Aid has had to step in during a season of Love Island. In 2022, the charity confirmed it was in talks with ITV regarding duty of care regarding relationships after a series of contestants such as Luca Bish and Dami Hope were called out for how they addressed the women in the villa. More Trending Then, in 2023, Women's Aid urged Love Island to take the accusations of 'controlling' behaviour against former contestant George Fensom seriously after his ex-partners spoke out against him. Meanwhile, per Glamour, Ofcom has reported over 1,000 complaints against the show in just a two-day period earlier this month, with the majority concerning 'a combination of alleged bullying and misogynistic behaviour by a number of contestants'. Kaye and Thomas Deluca, both 70, were found dead inside their $4.5 million Los Angeles, California, mansion on Monday afternoon. Cops said the accused murderer was inside their home for 30 minutes before the couple walked in and accidentally confronted him. The horrific break-in came after the successful couple had a burglar bust into their home on May 19. Ever since that incident, they had been desperately trying to crack down on security. They reportedly spoke to a bodyguard service and security consultant to try and get peace of mind after their home in Encino was targeted. One friend, who didn't give his name, said the couple "added spikes" to the top of the six-foot fence protecting their property, he told Fox News. "They had spikes on the other side of the fence, and obviously updated their video surveillance as well," he said. "They had video surveillance already." Kaye, who headed up the music department for American Idol, and Deluca, who was a successful songwriter, were remembered as friendly people who had no enemies, according to the friend. They had "moved to Encino because they wanted to be safe," he said. "They were living life to the fullest. They traveled a lot. They have some great animals," the friend explained. "They have a turtle that they found at their first house they bought when they moved to LA, and they've taken their turtle with them every place." 'VERY SHAKEN' Guy Cohen, a security consultant who works with SecureIT Homes, said that he worked with Kaye and Deluca after the break-in. He said a burglar had shattered the home's glass back door and was confronted by Kaye, who screamed when she saw the intruder. The intruder ran away after the music executive saw him, Cohen told Fox News. "Obviously they're very shaken and they were looking for solution," he said. "They came to us and we were there to consult them [...] help them through the situation." SecureIT was planning on installing shatter-resistant window film, an early detection system around their home, and a custom-built panic room in Kaye's closet this month, Cohen said. "Unfortunately, we couldn't get there in time and they still have their original systems in place," he said. The couple's close friend has remembered them as "very talented" and said that Kaye "excelled in her job." "They're just really wonderful people," he said.

McDonald's won't be bringing these massive boxes of fries to the UK

We don't make the rules, but the fact is, no Big Mac or Quarter Pounder meal is complete without them. Fry-loving Brits were at risk of some serious FOMO this week though, as McDonald's Malaysia launched an XXL version of the classic side dish. To celebrate International French Fry Day, the chain dropped the Fan Fries Meal, which featured a gargantuan box of chips as the main event. This promotional portion size looks like the equivalent of three large fries smushed together in an extended cardboard container. And if that wasn't enough for you, it comes with a drink and a side (of fries, no less) as well. It's safe to say people were excited for the meal to drop — there was even a countdown to it in Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur's busy retail district. But if you were thinking of booking a flight to Asia to get your hands on it, you're unfortunately too late. The XXL fries were only available between July 11 and July 13, meaning unless you were in Malaysia, you'll have just missed out. In even more devastating news, McDonald's has confirmed to Metro that there aren't any plans to introduce this in the UK. So if you want a huge serving of lightly-salted goodness, you'll have to order a few boxes separately. Fast food fans were left with their mouths watering when the creation was shared on X. Its description as a shareable portion also appeared to be up for debate, with many claiming they could demolish the whole box without any help. 'This is a much more efficient way of ordering for me,' @razacodes joked. 'Now I don't have to buy four large fries.' 'I can finish this by myself,' added @FlairFantasy, while @LaPetiteADA asked: 'Why didn't they come up with this before?' More Trending However, others were less on board with such humungous helpings, including one commenter who dubbed the invention 'criminal'. For UK McDonald's customers gutted to have missed out, hopefully news of new menu item will quell your sadness: the Double Filet-O-Fish, which dropped on July 1. The burger, which costs £5.29, features not one but two pollock fish patties in crispy breadcrumbs, along with melted cheese and tartare sauce inside a steamed bun.
