Sikkim CM performs yoga in Gangtok on 11th IYD, calls to make state
Gangtok (Sikkim) [India], June 21 (ANI): Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang led the 11th International Yoga Day celebrations in Gangtok on Saturday, emphasising the importance of yoga for personal and planetary well-being.
He extended his best wishes to everyone on this occasion and highlighted the state government's efforts to promote yoga among the masses. He called on to promote wellness tourism taht can make Sikkim a global destination, leveraging its natural beauty and cultural heritage.
'On the occasion of #InternationalYogaDay, I extend best wishes to everyone...The state government has made all efforts to ensure Yoga reaches the masses in the state...By promoting wellness tourism, we can make Sikkim a global destination', Prem Kumar Tamang told reporters.
Earlier today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday took part in the 11th International Day of Yoga celebrations, where he hailed yoga as a gift 'beyond age' that transcends all boundaries and unites humanity in 'health and harmony.'
The event took place against the scenic backdrop of the Visakhapatnam coastline, with Indian Navy ships stationed near the shore, adding to the grandeur of the celebrations.
The Prime Minister praised the efforts of the Andhra Pradesh government and extended his appreciation to Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan for hosting the event in Visakhapatnam. He lauded their leadership as 'inspiring' and described the state's initiative to promote yoga as 'commendable.'
'Yoga is for everyone beyond boundaries, beyond backgrounds, beyond age or physical ability. It is a universal gift that unites humanity in health, harmony, and consciousness. Friends, I am truly delighted that we are gathered here in Visakhapatnam, a city that beautifully blends nature with progress. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Chandrababu Naidu Garu and Pawan Kalyan for hosting such a wonderful event under your inspiring leadership. It is commendable that the state of Andhra Pradesh has taken this meaningful initiative to promote yoga,' said PM Modi while addressing the gathering. (ANI)

Speaking aboard the ISS, Group Captain Shukla also said that it looks from space that no borders exist on Earth. 'The first view was of the Earth and after seeing the Earth from outside, the first thought and the first thing that came to mind was that the Earth looks completely one, no border is visible from outside. When we see the Earth from outside, it seems that no border exists, no state exists, no countries exist. We all are part of humanity, and the Earth is our one home, and all of us are in it,' he said. Group Captain Shukla, who is the second Indian to reach Space, said he feels very proud as India has reached the International Space Station and it is a collective achievement of the country. He said he is feeling very emotional and happy after conversation with PM Modi. He urged youth to work hard, never stop trying and said 'the sky is never the limit'. 'I am feeling very emotional and happy after having a conversation with you and 140 crore Indians. I feel very proud as India has reached the International Space Station...I have learnt a lot in the entire journey. This is a collective achievement of the whole nation...I want to send a message to the younger generation that if you work hard, the future of the nation will be good. The sky is never the limit,' Group Captain Shukla said. 'The message I would like to give our young generation is that India has seen very bold and high dreams and to fulfil those dreams, we need all of you. There is no single way to success, but one thing that is common in every path is that you should never stop trying. If you adopt this basic mantra, then success may come today or tomorrow, but it will definitely come,' he added. With India's first human Space mission 'Gaganyaan' programme having entered its final phase, Shubhanshu Shukla said he is absorbing all the lessons and experience like a sponge. 'I am confident that these lessons will be highly valuable for us and that we will apply them effectively in the coming missions,' he said, with the Tricolour prominently placed in the ISS. 'India is progressing at a swift will have its stations in plays a significant role in maintaining calmness, as there are many stressful situations during training and launch. The first experiment, which is scheduled today, is on stem experiment focuses on how we can prevent or delay muscle loss in space by taking a specific supplement. We will also see if these supplements can be beneficial for older people on Earth as well,' he said. PM Modi asked him about the conditions in space and how he is adapting to it., 'Everything is different here. We trained for a year and I learnt about different after coming here, everything even small things are different because there is no gravity in here is a big takes some time to get used to this environment,' Group Captain Shukla said. PM Modi congratulated Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla for hoisting the Tricolour in space and said while 'you are away from our motherland, you are the closest to the hearts of Indians'. Group Captain Shukla had described the launch as 'magical' and reflected on his journey. 'I am thrilled to be here with my fellow astronauts - what a ride it was. Honestly, as I sat in the capsule 'Grace' on the launchpad yesterday after 30 days of quarantine, all I could think was: just go. When the launch finally happened, it was something else entirely. You're pushed back into the seat--and then suddenly, there's silence. You're just floating in the vacuum, and it's magical,' he said. He expressed gratitude to the mission team, calling the experience a 'collective achievement'. 'I truly appreciate the efforts of every individual who made this journey possible. It's not just a personal accomplishment - it belongs to all of us,' he added. Axiom 4 mission aboard the Dragon spacecraft successfully docked at the ISS on Thursday, ahead of schedule, autonomously docking at 4:05 pm (IST) to the space-facing port of the space station's Harmony module. Former NASA astronaut Peggy Whitson, ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation) astronaut Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, ESA (European Space Agency) astronauts Slawosz Uznanski-Wisniewski of Poland and Tibor Kapu of Hungary were part of the crew for the Axiom 4 mission. After his arrival at the ISS, Group Captain Shukla called it a 'privilege' to become the 634th human in space and the first Indian to enter the ISS, saying the experience of seeing Earth from such a vantage point was 'wonderful.' After receiving his official astronaut pin from Ax-4 Mission Commander Peggy Whitson, Shukla said, 'I am no 634, that's a privilege.' 'To be fair, it is a privilege to be amongst the few who have got the chance to see the Earth from a vantage point that I have been able to see now. It has been a wonderful ride. I was looking forward to coming to space--it is something to look forward. But the moment I entered the ISS, I felt welcomed. You (Expedition 73 crew) guys literally opened up your doors like your house doors for us, that was fantastic. The expectations I had were surpassed, so thank you so much; this was fantastic. I am confident the next 14 days are going to be amazing doing science and research,' said Shukla in his 'arrival remarks' after entering the ISS. 'I have a small message for my countrymen: It is because of your love and 'The Tricolour I bear on my shoulder makes me feel as though the entire country is with me. I believe the next 14 days are going to be truly interesting,' he added. The astronauts plan to spend about two weeks aboard the orbiting laboratory, conducting a mission comprised of science, outreach, and commercial activities. Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel visits Khavda Renewable Energy Park, reviews ongoing work
Gandhinagar (Gujarat) [India], June 28 (ANI): Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Saturday visited the site of the world's largest upcoming Hybrid Renewable Energy (RE) Park near Khavda and held a review meeting with representatives from various companies. On this occasion, he inspected the progress of solar and wind energy generation from the Central Control Room, reviewed the ongoing work with officials, and offered guidance to further advance the vision of green energy, said release. To pave the way for a Viksit Gujarat through green growth, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for the Renewable Energy (RE) Park near Khavda in December 2020. Spread across approximately 800 square kilometres of area, this under-construction park aims to generate 37 gigawatts of 100 per cent eco-friendly electricity by the year 2028. By 2028, the Khavda Renewable Energy Park is expected to supply electricity to approximately 1.85 crore households across the country. On this occasion, Rajendra Mistry, Chief Project Officer of Gujarat Power Corporation Limited, presented an overview of the work completed so far and the ongoing progress at the park. Notably, the Renewable Energy (RE) Park hosts power generation projects from both public and private sector companies, including National Thermal Power Corporation Limited (NTPC REL), Gujarat Industries Power Company Limited (GIPCL), Gujarat Power Corporation Limited (GPCL), Adani Green Energy Limited, and Sarjan Realities Private Limited. During the visit, several dignitaries and officials were present, including Kutch Collector Anand Patel, Devjibhai Varchand, Ajay Sehgal from National Thermal Power Corporation Limited, Tirth Nath Singh, Project Head of the Adani Group, and Anil Musar, representative of Sarjan Realities Private Limited.
