At least 18 Hindu pilgrims killed in Jharkhand crash
At least 18 people were killed in eastern India on Tuesday after a bus ferrying Hindu pilgrims collided with a truck loaded with cooking gas cylinders, officials said.
Visuals from the site in Jharkhand state showed the mangled wreckage of the bus, with its rear portion almost entirely burnt.
Local lawmaker Nishikant Dubey said the pilgrims were travelling to a Hindu shrine to celebrate the sacred month of Shravan, coinciding with the onset of the monsoons in the subcontinent.
'18 devotees lost their lives due to a bus and truck accident,' Dubey said on social media.

JI to hold rallies for Kashmir, Palestine
KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi Ameer Monem Zafar Khan announced that protests, rallies, and demonstrations will be held across the city on August 5 to mark 'Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir' in solidarity with the people of Kashmir and Palestine. He was addressing a press conference at the party's headquarters, Idara Noor-e-Haq on Friday Monem Zafar condemned the Indian government's abrogation of Article 370 and equated the actions of India in Kashmir and Israel in Gaza, criticizing the global silence over the humanitarian crises in both regions. He particularly called out the Muslim world for failing to take a firm stand against the use of starvation as a weapon in Gaza, where he said over 60,000 civilians had been killed and many more were now dying of hunger. He urged Pakistan's military leadership, particularly Field Marshal Asim Munir, to spearhead efforts to unite the Muslim world against Israeli atrocities, saying Pakistan, as a nuclear power, has a greater responsibility. India's rhetoric fueling instability: FO
Listen to article Pakistan on Friday categorically rejected what it called "baseless and irresponsible statements" made by Indian political leaders in the Lok Sabha regarding the so-called "Operation Sindoor", reiterating that such rhetoric only fuels instability in South Asia. Foreign Office spokesperson, Ambassador Shafqat Ali Khan, addressing his weekly press briefing, said, "The world knows that India carried out attacks on Pakistani territory without a shred of credible evidence. The so-called strikes on alleged terrorist sites led to the martyrdom of innocent civilians. India failed to avail itself of Pakistan's immediate offer for a joint probe into the Pahalgam incident, which speaks volumes about the falsity of their claims." He underscored that Pakistan's defense capabilities remain a strong deterrent against any adventurism by India. "For us, the only path to normalcy lies in mutual respect for sovereignty, territorial integrity, and adherence to international laws and UN charters. India's continued reliance on jingoism, chest-thumping, and empty rhetoric is jeopardizing regional peace and stability." The spokesperson also dismissed recent remarks by the Indian Home Minister on the Indus Waters Treaty, saying such "displaced assertions carry no legal weight and cannot alter established international agreements." Reaffirming Pakistan's position on terrorism, Ambassador Khan stated: "Groups like BLA and TTP are recognised as terrorist organizations. Evidence shows they are being funded and facilitated from across the border. We have consistently raised this matter with Afghan authorities and expect decisive action." On relations with India, he said Pakistan remained open to dialogue based on mutual respect and international law but would continue to vigorously defend its sovereignty against any false narratives or hostile actions.
