Calciomercato.com reports that Napoli are on the verge of sealing an agreement for Milinkovic-Savic for a fee of €18m.
However, even if Milinkovic-Savic comes in, that does not necessarily mean the end of Meret's time in Naples.

In fact, according to reports from Gianluca Di Marzio, Napoli now have an agreement in place to extend Meret's contract for a further two seasons, until the end of the 2026-27 campaign.
The two-time Scudetto winner is currently due to be out of contract on June 30.
The 28-year-old could sign his new contract extension with Napoli by the end of next week, according to Di Marzio's latest update.

Revealed – Why Atalanta Are Reluctant To Accept Low-Ball Inter Milan Offer For Ex RB Leipzig Star
Atalanta are reluctant to accept too low a bid from Inter Milan for Ademola Lookman as they still owe RB Leipzig a sell-on fee. This according to today's print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews. Inter Milan are pushing to wrap up a deal for Atalanta forward for Ademola Lookman. This week, the Nerazzurri reportedly made an offer worth €45 million including add-ons. That is up from their initial bid of €40 million. Meanwhile, the desire of the player himself is also key. Lookman has been pushing for the move to Inter from the start. Atalanta Reluctant To Accept Low-Ball Inter Offer For Lookman Due To Sell-On Fee BERGAMO, ITALY – MAY 12: Ademola Lookman of Atalanta warms up prior to the Serie A match between Atalanta and AS Roma at Gewiss Stadium on May 12, 2025 in Bergamo, Italy. (Photo by) Tuttosport report that Atalanta have never officially given Inter a valuation of €50 million for Lookman. However, that is very much the region that the Bergamo-based club are hoping for. And a big part of the reason for this is the fact that Atalanta owe RB Leipzig a sell-on fee for Lookman. La Dea signed Lookman in 2022. The Nigerian arrived from Leipzig after he'd been on loan with the likes of Fulham and Leicester City in the Premier League. As part of that deal, Atalanta owe Leipzig a portion of any fee they receive for Lookman. Therefore, if the fee is relatively low, the La Dea wouldn't actually profit that much.

Atalanta Talisman's Signing Could Put France Star's Place Under Threat At Inter Milan
The arrival of Ademola Lookman could put the place of Marcus Thuram at Inter Milan under threat next season. Today's print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInter1908, suggest that the Frenchman may not be guaranteed a first-choice spot if Inter pull off a deal for Lookman. Over the last two seasons, there has been no doubt that Marcus Thuram is a part of Inter's first-choice starting eleven. The former Borussia Monchengladbach striker offers qualities that no one else in Inter's squad does. His pace and dribbling ability have offered a cutting edge in the final third. That has been particularly noticeable in its absence when Thuram hasn't played. Backup forwards such as Mehdi Taremi, Marko Arnautovic, and Joaquin Correa haven't given Inter nearly the same dynamism in attack. Lookman Arrival Could Put Marcus Thuram Place Under Threat At Inter BERGAMO, ITALY – JANUARY 21: Ademola Lookman of Atalanta celebrates scoring his team's fourth goal during the UEFA Champions League 2024/25 League Phase MD7 match between Atalanta BC and SK Sturm Graz at Stadio di Bergamo on January 21, 2025 in Bergamo, Italy. (Photo by) However, Inter have taken major steps to bolster their attacking depth this summer. And the biggest one could be soon to come. Reportedly, Inter are pushing to sign Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman. If the 27-year-old is really to arrive, then it would given Inter an entirely different look in attack. Reportedly, coach Cristian Chivu wants to change the formation to a 3-4-2-1 shape. That would allow space for both Thuram and Lookman. However, if the Frenchman is to be out of form, then Chivu could feel that he has an option to drop him from the team with another starting-quality attacker like Lookman in the fold.

They report that Atalanta have offered the Nigerian €5 million net per season, more than Inter are offering him. Inter Milan are pushing to wrap up a deal for Atalanta forward for Ademola Lookman. Having already lost striker Mateo Retegui this summer, La Dea do not want to lose hold of their other attacking talisman. According to the Corriere della Sera, Atalanta have offered Lookman a contract extension. This would be worth €5 million net per season. For their part, Inter have reportedly agreed terms on a deal worth around €4 million net per season with Lookman. However, the newspaper report, the 27-year-old would be willing to accept Inter's lower offer.
