Wisconsin women's basketball top 2026 target lists Badgers as a finalist
The younger sister of NBA champion Michael Porter Jr., Jayda Porter narrowed her list to eight suitors. In addition to Wisconsin, that list includes Oklahoma, Notre Dame, Oregon, North Carolina, Nebraska, Oklahoma State and Texas A&M. She is slated to officially visit Madison the weekend of Oct. 18.
247Sports considers the 6-foot-3 forward the No. 28 overall recruit in the class of 2026, the No. 9 power forward and the No. 2 player from her home state of Missouri. Here's what Brandon Clay, the outlet's director of scouting for women's basketball, wrote about Porter's basketball repertoire:
"Porter has the size and skill to be a major factor on the interior. Her brothers, Jontay and Michael Jr., both made it to the NBA. Jayda has the bloodline coupled with the touch on offense to be a consistent shot maker from beyond the arc or in the post. That skill set keeps opposing defenders off balance and guessing. Porter's ability to rebound and protect the rim will also be a huge asset for her future college coach. Her game is already diversified at a young age."
While both 247Sports and On3/Rivals have yet to note an offer from Wisconsin, the Badgers would certainly be thrilled to welcome the high-four-star recruit to Madison for her collegiate tenure. UW's 2026 offer sheet currently features seven undecided athletes with at least a four-star profile.
While still early, On3/Rivals' recruiting prediction machine has yet to identify a clear frontrunner. As of July 26, Kansas, which was not named a finalist, boasts the highest likelihood to land Porter's commitment at 30%. The Jayhawks are followed by Nebraska (25.6%) and Oklahoma State (21.9%).
A commitment from Porter would immediately emerge as first-year head coach Robin Pingeton's most significant recruiting victory during her brief tenure as the Badgers' leader. First, UW will need to tackle its 2025-26 slate with a revamped roster.

The crowd erupted in "Ooh's and Aah's" clapping at the completion although the rookie RB must remember some college rules don't apply anymore. The catch of camp so far on a diving back one-handed snag from Jaydon Blue downfield Camp is barely in its infancy but one cannot overlook the fact at how impressive and dangerous the fifth-round rookie could be for the Cowboys this season. Another big-play producer such as Blue would fit nicely alongside the current stars of the offense. Golden State Warriors jersey history - No. 19 - Bob Armstrong (1956-57)
The Golden State Warriors have had over 600 players don the more than 60 jersey numbers used by their players over the more than 75 years of existence the team has enjoyed in its rich and storied history. Founded in 1946 during the Basketball Association of America (BAA -- a precursor league of the NBA) era, the team has called home the cities of Philadelphia, San Francisco, Oakland, and even San Diego. To commemorate the players who wore those numbers, Warriors Wire is covering the entire history of jersey numbers and the players who sported them since the founding of the team. For this article, we begin with the seventh of 13 players who wore the No. 19 jersey for the Warriors. That player would be Golden State big man alum Bob Armstrong. After ending his college career at Michigan State, Armstrong was picked up with the 42nd overall selection of the 1955 NBA Draft by the (then) Rochester Royals (now, Sacramento Kings). The Detroit, Michigan native would end up sitting out the next season, and instead signed with the (then) Philadelphia (now, Golden State) Warriors for his only 19 games played in the NBA. ESPN reporter Holly Rowe shares possible timeline for Caitlin Clark return from injury
During the nationally broadcast 93-78 Indiana Fever win over the Chicago Sky from the United Center on Sunday afternoon, ESPN reporter Holly Rowe provided a more in-depth update on Caitlin Clark's injury and when the former Hawkeye could be expected to return to action. Clark, who has remained out since July 15 after suffering a right groin injury against the Connecticut Sun, remains a constant presence on the bench for the Fever as the team plays without its franchise cornerstone. '[Clark] did see a specialist last week, and no additional injury was found in that exam and scans. Stephanie White did tell us that they will be even more cautious in their approach to her return to play this time. 'Last time when she came back from injury, she didn't get any practice time [or] any time to ramp up her conditioning. This time, they're going to make sure she has time and practice to get rhythm and time with her teammates," Rowe said. Sunday's game marked the fourth consecutive game Clark has missed due to the right groin ailment. In total, Clark has now been absent for 13 regular season games with three different injury setbacks. Rowe finished her report on Clark by pointing to the Fever's schedule, which features a five-day break around the third week of August, between Indiana's Aug. 17 road game against the Connecticut Sun and their Aug. 22 home game against the Minnesota Lynx. While admitting that Clark remains "day-to-day" according to the team, Rowe alluded to the specific window between games as an ideal timetable for a potential return, given the star guard's ability to secure a few more days of practice during that period. As you look at their schedule, the third week in August provides a few more practice days where that seems like it's realistic. While she does remain day-to-day, that seems like a better timetable for a possible Caitlin Clark return," Rowe said. As for the immediate future, Indiana (14-12) will look to continue their confident play when the team returns home to Gainbridge Fieldhouse for a matchup against former teammate DeWanna Bonner and the Phoenix Mercury (16-9) on Wednesday, July 30. The game is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. CT and will air on ESPN3.
