The Apple Watch Ultra 2 is unusually affordable in brand-new condition for a limited time
Do you know that outstanding Apple Watch Ultra 2 Woot deal from just a couple of days ago? The Amazon-owned e-tailer is now running another sale on the same 2023-released rugged smartwatch, and some of you dear readers might find this one even more compelling than the previous offer, even though you have to spend a little more money today (and today only).
That's because your $669.99 will buy you a brand-new, unused, unopened, and undamaged Apple Watch Ultra 2 unit this time around instead of a "grade A" refurb. The refurbished promotion is actually gone already, so I should probably stop talking about it and focus more on comparing this price with what Amazon itself is currently charging for a new Ultra 2 with a full 1-year manufacturer warranty included.
$129 off (16%) GPS, Bluetooth, Cellular Connectivity, Always-On Retina Display with Up to 3000 Nits of Brightness, Apple S9 Processor, 1000m Water Resistance, Double Tap Gesture, ECG, Blood Oxygen Sensor, Sleep Apnea Detection, High and Low Heart Rate Notifications, Irregular Rhythm Alerts, Temperature Sensing, Fall Detection, Crash Detection, Siren, Up to 36 Hours of Battery Life, 49mm Titanium Case, Two Color Options, New, 1-Year Apple Warranty Included Buy at Woot GPS, Bluetooth, Cellular Connectivity, Always-On Retina Display with Up to 3000 Nits of Brightness, Apple S9 Processor, 1000m Water Resistance, Double Tap Gesture, ECG, Blood Oxygen Sensor, Sleep Apnea Detection, High and Low Heart Rate Notifications, Irregular Rhythm Alerts, Temperature Sensing, Fall Detection, Crash Detection, Siren, Up to 36 Hours of Battery Life, 49mm Titanium Case, Multiple Colors and Band Options Buy at Amazon That's around 70 bucks more than Woot, mind you, after a much humbler $60 discount from a $799 list price. Now, it's highly debatable if the Apple Watch Ultra 2 is worth eight whole Benjamins with a potentially vastly improved sequel likely right around the corner, but at $670, the value for your money is essentially unbeatable if you're an iPhone owner with a passion for the great outdoors.
If you hurry, you can opt for a black titanium model with a matching black trail loop or a rugged titanium version with a blue ocean band at the exact same $669.99 price. The impressive new Woot deal is technically scheduled to go away at the end of the day as far as both those models are concerned, but due to their younger age and arguably classier look, the all-black units could well go out of stock even sooner. As such, I can't stress enough how important it is to pull the trigger as soon as possible... if you're sure this is the best smartwatch for you. The Apple Watch Series 10 is obviously still a lot more affordable, but it's also much less robust and nowhere near as well-equipped to handle an adventurous lifestyle. Oh, and did I mention the Apple Watch Ultra 2 comes with built-in cellular connectivity as standard too?

T-Mobile-owned MVNO reminds its iPhone subscribers to update in order to use RCS
Before Apple released iOS 18.4 in late March, only iPhone handsets connected to major U.S. carriers offered Rich Communication Services (RCS) as a messaging option for iOS users. For those unaware, RCS is the messaging platform that gives Android users many of the same features that iPhone users get when chatting with fellow iOS users with the Messages app. That means RCS brings to Android users: The ability to send longer messages. High-resolution photos and videos. Typing Indicators. Read Receipts. Ability to share larger files. Wi-Fi and Data connectivity. Of course, Apple being Apple, at first it wouldn't allow iPhone users to use RCS when messaging Android users on the RCS platform. Despite Google constantly attacking Apple asking it to support RCS, it took the EU's Digital Markets Act (DMA) legislation to make Apple feel as though it had no choice but to support RCS. As we noted, originally only the three major stateside carriers offered iPhone users the ability to use RCS when chatting with Android owners. Once Apple released iOS 18 .4, several T-Mobile MVNOs started hooking up their iPhone users with RCS compatibility, and one of these firms, Mint Mobile, has begun sending emails to its subscribers urging them to make sure that their iPhones are running at least iOS 18 .4. One important feature of RCS not available yet for cross-platform RCS messaging is end-to-end encryption. Currently, in-transit encryption is available for all messages sent over RCS including cross-platform chats. This means that your chats are encrypted as they travel over the internet between your device and RCS servers preventing your messages from getting intercepted by someone "listening in" on the network. Mint Mobile promotes RCS for its subscribers. | Image credit-Mint Mobile Google has always offered end-to-end-encryption (E2EE) on Android-to-Android messaging as long as both sides used Google Messages. Apple has always offered E2EE on messaging between iOS users. With both Apple and Google committed to eventually offering end-to-end encryption on cross-platform RCS messaging, the iOS Messages app and iMessage will soon no longer be a major selling point for phone buyers. During the Epic Games v. Apple lawsuit, internal Apple emails from Craig Federighi, Apple's Senior Vice President of Software Engineering, indicated that the company considers iMessage a good reason why parents should buy their kids an iPhone. The emails from Federighi also claimed that the Messages app and iMessage were big reasons why consumers want to stay inside the Apple ecosystem. Secure your connection now at a bargain price! Deals: the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge gets its first major discount, but the S25+ is even cheaper
The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is not selling too well, but results from our poll suggest that dropping the price would be a good way to fix that. Let's test that theory – Samsung's slender flagship just got its first major discount. The 512GB variant of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is now under $1,000. Keep in mind that the MSRP of the base 256GB variant is $1,100, so you get more storage for less money. Would you be better off with a Samsung Galaxy S25+? Check out our Galaxy S25+ vs. S25 Edge article for our thoughts on the matter. The S25+ has better battery life, though the gaming test is where most of its advantage comes from – for web browsing and especially video streaming, the S25 Edge comes pretty close. Of course, the S25+ is cheaper but not by much right now – the 512GB models are only $70 apart. Speaking of gaming, the new RedMagic 10S Pro is in the same price range. This one boasts a rectangular 6.85' 144Hz OLED display with an UD camera. It's powered by an actively-cooled Snapdragon 8 Elite, though our testing shows that the fan doesn't do much. Even without it, the 10S Pro is one of the fastest Androids around. RedMagic 10S Pro $70 off Read our review 16/512GB - $950 at Amazon US Switching over to the accessories section, the Samsung Galaxy Watch7 is under $200 for the 40mm model. That puts it on par with the Watch FE and the Watch7 is better in every way. Plus, the FE is available only in 40mm size, while the Watch7 does have a 44mm option for $45 more. For an adventure-ready watch, the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra also has a hefty discount. This one is available only in 47mm size and it has LTE connectivity (which is optional on the Watch7).
