Tujhse Hai Rabta fame Reem Shaikh came under fire after a video of her response to a paparazzi's question about the Ahmedabad plane crash surfaced and quickly went viral. On June 12, tragedy struck when a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner en route from Ahmedabad to London's Gatwick Airport crashed just moments after takeoff at approximately 1:38 p.m.
, resulting in the loss of over 200 lives. Actress Reem Shaikh faced heavy criticism for appearing unaware and not acknowledging the Air India disaster while present on the sets of Laughter Chefs 2.
In a recent podcast with HindiRush, the actress addressed the controversy and shared that she was targeted with online abuse following the incident. Reem Shaikh expressed that the situation deeply affected her, especially since her own sister works as a flight attendant with Air India.
Even though she was truly worried, she said she consciously chose not to portray herself as a victim.
Responding to the viral video, Reem said, "Uss waqt joh hua, bahot fast hua. Mein set pe aayi, aur kisi ne poocha, 'Kal ke baare mein batao?' It was such a random question. Subah-subah jab aap 7:30 baje uth ke set par aate ho, ek ghante ke andar tayyar hoke, 4-5 log aapke sir pe ghoom rahe hote hain... your mind is absent."
She further shared, "Uske baad aap mujhe gaali do, bolo insensitive, deshdrohi—go ahead.

But just because maine media ke saamne dukhi chehra nahi rakha, that does not mean I didn't go through something, or that I didn't feel bad about what happened. You might not know humne kya face kiya, because my sister flies for that airline. Jab woh news aayi, media pe spread hone se pehle mujhe 10-12 calls aa chuke the, asking about my sister.
What I experienced... they might not even know."
Reem shared that she was heavily trolled online, with many users leaving hateful comments.
Some even labeled her a 'Deshdrohi' and said things like, 'Isko Pakistan bhejo.'
She added about the trolling she faced, "Bahot gandi-gandi gaaliyan likhi thi. Bahot bura bola tha. DMs mein bhi log peecha nahi chod rahe the, buri baatein likh rahe the. Main hairaan ho gayi thi. Maine actually trolling kya hoti hai, woh face kiya."
On the work front, Reem Sheikh was seen in Laughter Chefs season 2, which recently wrapped up. She was paired opposite Aly Goni.

Ronit Roy opens up about daughter studying in University of Southern California, says son Agasthya is ‘too bhola' for Bollywood

Actor Ronit Roy, who has been candid about his rocky career and financial struggles, has worked his way up the film and television industry, and is determined to help his children get a better life than he had. In a recent interview, he talked about his freedom-based approach regarding fatherhood, and what he thinks of his children's future in Bollywood. On the Hindi Rush podcast, Ronit talked about his children's aspirations in life and how he plans to support them in their journey to adulthood. He said, 'I am going to be very straightforward about this: an actor's son naturally wants to become an actor. My daughter Aador is currently studying at USC, and that's why she is less in the public eye, and Agasthya is here. I have never told them what they should do with their career or life. I keep telling them that I only have two projects in my life, and that's them.' Talking about his son, Ronit admitted that even though parents want the best for their child, they can't control everything. He continued, 'As a father, there is only so much you can do or control. I haven't written their destiny, and all a father can do is support their children in their journey and nurture them throughout the journey. Agasthya is a solid kid, and he is very determined about targets he sets for himself.' 'I am not saying this because he is my son, but he is too bhola (innocent) for this world. He is like me in certain ways and tends to take things at face value; he doesn't doubt people or their intentions. Our interests are the same; we both like films and martial arts, and I want him to have a strong mentality like a fighter while keeping his innocence intact.' Ronit added that once his son has achieved that mentality, he is free to study, learn from and assist people in the industry, so that he knows what he is getting into and can experience it firsthand. Ronit's brother Rohit Roy is also an established actor, and his daughter Kiara is currently studying at Brown University. When asked about Kiara's chances in Bollywood, Rohit also replied in the affirmative and said that while Kiara is currently focused on her studies, there is no reason why she can't jump into acting right after that. Rohit was very clear that he would want Kiara to work with someone outside the family, as he thinks that actors should never direct their own children.

When Abhishek Bachchan quit college to help Amitabh Bachchan clear Rs 90 crore debt: ‘He had to borrow money from staff..."

Amitabh Bachchan 's life has always been the stuff of Bollywood legends. From being dubbed a 'failed newcomer' to becoming the 'Shahenshah' of Hindi cinema, his story is one of remarkable highs and crushing lows. But perhaps the most testing time of his life came not in front of the camera, but at home, when his company went bankrupt, plunging him into debts of nearly Rs 90 crore. It was such a dark phase that even his son, Abhishek Bachchan , chose to quit college to be by his side. The early days: A superstar born from failures Big B's career did not start off on a rosy note. His initial films failed to impress either the audience or critics. It wasn't until 1973 that he tasted real success, with 'Zanjeer' catapulting him into stardom. From there, he ruled the box office for decades, giving Indian cinema some of its most iconic characters and films. The ABCL gamble that went horribly wrong However, success can sometimes breed overconfidence. In the mid-1990s, Amitabh decided to try his hand at the business side of cinema by launching his company, Amitabh Bachchan Corporation Limited (ABCL). Unfortunately, the venture turned into a nightmare. As per multiple reports, ABCL failed to deliver, and the company's financial troubles snowballed into a massive debt of around Rs 90 crore. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 5 Books Warren Buffett Wants You To Read in 2025 Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo In an interview with India Today, Amitabh candidly spoke about this period, calling it 'undoubtedly one of the darkest periods of my 44-year-old career.' He shared, 'I can never forget how creditors used to land at our door, be abusive, threatening and demanding, and worse still, when they came for 'Kudkee' at Prateeksha, our residence.' Abhishek's decision to stand by his father While Amitabh struggled with the crisis, far away in Boston, his son Abhishek was pursuing his education at Boston University. But even across continents, the father's troubles deeply affected the son. Speaking on Ranveer Allahbadia's podcast, Abhishek had recalled, 'Well, truth be told, I left university — I was studying in Boston University. I had declared my major as liberal arts, and then I majored in performing arts. And I left my education because my father was going through this really rough time, financially. He had started this business called ABCL.' He added, 'I said I can't be here sitting in Boston when my father doesn't know how he's going to get dinner. And that's how bad it was. And he said it publicly. He had to borrow money from his staff to put food on the table.' 'At least he'll know his boy is next to him' What truly stands out is Abhishek's sense of moral responsibility at such a young age. He revealed, 'I just felt morally obliged to be with him. I called him and I said 'You know dad, I think I want to leave college half-way and come back and just be with you, try and help you in whatever way. At least you'll know that your boy is next to you and he's there for you'.' Abhishek then described how his father responded. Amitabh called him to his study late one night and laid bare the grim reality. He reportedly told Abhishek, 'movies aren't working out, the business isn't working out, nothing is working out.' But true to his resilient nature, Amitabh Bachchan decided to pull himself out of the mess rather than give up. In later interviews, Amitabh often credited his family especially Jaya Bachchan and Abhishek, for standing firmly by his side through this storm. Upcoming projects Today, the Bachchans are once again a symbol of success. Amitabh, even at 82, remains one of the most sought-after actors. He was last seen in 'Vettaiyan', which also marked his debut in Tamil cinema. Fans are now eagerly waiting for him in Nag Ashwin's ambitious 'Kalki 2898 AD' sequel. Additionally, he has Ribhu Dasgupta's 'Section 84' lined up. Meanwhile, Abhishek has carved out his own place in the industry. He was recently seen in the OTT film 'Kaalidhar Laapata' and is currently shooting for Shah Rukh Khan 's 'King'.

70MM Is Small for Me, 3D Is Not Good Enough: Shah Rukh Khan on Loss, Work and Making Films for His Parents

Shah Rukh Khan reveals that the driving force behind his relentless work ethic stems from the profound loss of his parents at a young age. He strives to create films of such magnitude that they can witness his success from beyond, feeling that even grand cinematic formats fall short of his vision. For someone who has spent over three decades lighting up cinema screens and winning hearts across the globe, Shah Rukh Khan 's relationship with his work goes far deeper than fame, fortune, or applause. In a deeply moving reflection, the superstar opened up about how personal loss has shaped his journey, and why even the grandeur of a 70MM screen or the magic of 3D feels inadequate when it comes to the films he dreams of making. In a clip that is now doing the rounds of social media, during his conversation with NDTV while talking about the relationship between his parents and his work , he said 'I just feel that because they died, and I needed to fill in the gaps that I have in my life even now — I work so much'' Shah Rukh said, speaking about losing both his parents at a young age. 'People say if you work a lot and work very hard, everything seems easy. Everything has come easy to me because I work so hard, but I don't wish this upon anyone. I would never like anyone to have this kind of loss.' For Khan, the relentless drive to work isn't fueled by ambition alone, but by a desire to connect with the people he lost. 'I believe maybe Allah took away my parents so that I could see this,' he said. 'I always think I will make such big films that wherever they are, they are able to see it. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like American Investor Warren Buffett Recommends: 5 Books For Turning Your Life Around Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo 70MM is small for me. 3D is not good enough.' 'One fine evening, my dad and mom would be sitting on some star. My mother used to call her Kanha, which means dimples. And he would say, 'Kanha, look — isn't that our son?' And he would reply, 'Yes, he looks like it, though he's become a little thin'' he added. That thought, Shah Rukh confesses, is what propels him every morning. 'All I want to do is work, work, work. And I love what I do, so it doesn't seem like work.' Shah Rukh is in the midst of making his next big film King with Siddharth Anand . The film features his daughter Suhana Khan , Abhishek Bachchan , Deepika Padukone , Rani Mukerji , Anil Kapoor , Arshad Warsi and many more names.
