Moroccan Star Chemsdine Talbi shines in Brugge's Belgian Cup triumph
Amid the celebrations, one face stood out: Chemsdine Talbi. The Moroccan international of Belgian origin celebrated the win with emotion, as shown in a heartfelt post on his Instagram account.
Talbi's season, however, has been marked by ups and downs—particularly following his decision to represent Morocco at the international level. Despite a strong start, his playing time has significantly decreased, raising questions about his future at the Flemish club.
According to Africafoot, several European and Gulf clubs have expressed interest in Talbi. Napoli, RB Leipzig, and Eintracht Frankfurt, as well as Saudi clubs Al-Hilal and Al-Qadisiyah, are reportedly eyeing the 21-year-old ahead of the summer transfer window. Club Brugge is said to have set his price at €30 million.

Not for Sale: Real Madrid Block Big-Money Bids for Brahim Díaz
Real Madrid are close to finalising a new long-term contract for Brahim Díaz, despite continued interest from clubs across Europe and the Middle East. The Moroccan international turned 26 today amid reports of firm approaches from clubs such as Benfica and Fenerbahçe. Despite that, Real Madrid made it clear: he's staying. Spanish news outlet Marca reports that the renewal has been in progress since June, with both sides seeing his role as essential for the upcoming campaign. His current deal runs until 2027, but the extension would keep him at the club until at least 2029. Real Madrid have rejected all offers for the attacking midfielder this summer, including bids from the Saudi Pro League. Reports suggest one unnamed Saudi club offered as much as €65 million, but president Florentino Pérez turned it down after consulting with manager Xabi Alonso. The club see Díaz as a valuable squad player – versatile, reliable, and ready when called upon. He featured in 56 matches last season, scoring six goals and providing eight assists. Despite being a regular substitute, he played a crucial role in tight fixtures, offering tactical flexibility across several attacking positions. Benfica have shown a strong interest in signing Díaz and are keen to bring in a creative midfielder ahead of their Champions League campaign. However, with no green light from Madrid or the player, the Lisbon-based club are unlikely to make headway. Fenerbahçe, coached by José Mourinho, are also monitoring the situation. Mourinho reportedly sees Díaz as a good fit for his system, but again, there is no indication the player is considering leaving. Real Madrid's refusal to part ways with Díaz comes at a time when the club are open to selling other players. Rodrygo Goes, Ferland Mendy and David Alaba are all reportedly on the list of potential summer exits, as the club reshape the squad under Alonso. With Jude Bellingham sidelined for three months following shoulder surgery, Díaz's presence becomes even more vital. His ability to slot into different attacking roles is seen as a key asset during what promises to be a demanding season – both domestically and internationally. Díaz is also preparing for the Africa Cup of Nations with Morocco, which will take place between December and January. His absence during that period is one of the few complications Real Madrid will need to manage. The Málaga-born midfielder has built a reputation as a dependable performer in difficult moments due to his high work rate and low-profile style that has earned respect in a squad filled with high-profile stars. His career has seen steady progress, from Málaga to Manchester City, then AC Milan, before returning to Madrid in 2023. Now more mature and experienced. A formal announcement on his contract renewal is expected in the coming weeks. Tags: afconBrahim DiazMoroccoReal Madrid

CHAN 2024: Madagascar vs Mauritania – Preview & Score Prediction
Madagascar begin their CHAN 2024 campaign against Mauritania at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium. Kick-off is set for 06:00 pm Moroccan time (GMT+1) in Group B. Mauritania arrive with ambitions to outdo their 2022 run, which saw them reach the quarter-finals. Under Spanish coach Aritz López Garai, the Mourabitounes showed improved structure and composure during qualifiers, particularly against Mali. Playmaker El Hacen El Id is expected to play a central role as Mauritania target a maiden semi-final spot. Madagascar, bronze medallists in 2022, are aiming higher this time. Coach Romuald Rakotondrabe, known for his attacking philosophy, leads a young and dynamic squad featuring John Christiano Razafimanana and Nina Razakanirina. 'Our goal is clear—do better than 2022,' said Rakotondrabe. The fixture pits two emerging sides against one another. With hosts Tanzania, every point will count in the race for qualification. Mauritania carry a slight psychological edge, having beaten Madagascar in their last two encounters — both in friendlies — the latest in November 2023. While Mauritania sit 111th in the FIFA rankings (28th in Africa), and Madagascar 115th (29th in Africa), the rankings are unlikely to count for much in a tightly contested group. Prediction: Mauritania have the edge in experience and recent form.. A 2-1 win for the Mourabitounes looks the most likely outcome. Tags: afconCAFCHANMadagascarMauritania

Alleged Rape Case: Why Hakimi's Ballon d'Or Bid Stirs More Than Applause?
Rabat – Morocco's superstar — or 'his mom's darling,' as fans affectionately call him in admiration of his close family ties – Achraf Hakimi is facing a legal drama that resurfaced as his career hits new highs. The Atlas Lion, however, gained a powerful wave of solidarity as more conflicting testimonies and hidden messages surrounding the case have come to light. What's particularly suspicious is the timing. The case surrounding the unproven rape allegations and claims dates back to early 2023. The case, however, is now being pushed back into the headlines after the Nanterre prosecutor's office said Hakimi might face trial for these allegations just days before the announcement of the Ballon d'Or. This raised questions about whether the allegations were ever about justice at all. French football-focused website L'Equipe has published a timeline of the legal case that Hakimi is facing in France, stemming from a complaint a 24-year-old woman filed against him in early 2023. The claims L'Equipe reported that the case dates back to February 24, 2023, when Hakimi invited a 24-year-old woman to his place. The woman had been chatting with Hakimi through Instagram before their meeting. She claimed he 'kissed her without her consent,' alleging that they had a 'long conversation.' What raises even more questions and suspicion is the contrast between the complainant's claims. She alleged that she 'repeatedly asked' Hakimi to stop and 'expressed fear about the personal consequences her revelations might bring.' However, she alleged that she only sought to report the incident at the police station without pressing formal charges. In her complaint, she said Hakimi 'was not violent.' During the same night with Hakimi, she maintained text conversations with her friend. The same friend eventually came to pick her up. Many also suspected the case, as the woman herself emphasized she was actively using her phone throughout the encounter. Given Hakim's high-profile status, many suggest that it will be unlikely for the player to risk being secretly recorded or filmed during the situation. The complainant's friend received messages like 'This is really serious. I'm coming back, it's really serious. He's raping me, I swear on my mother's life. I can't get out.' Funny, Colin, Hakimi's lawyer said the complainant refused to share the messages exchanged before she arrived at Hakimi's house. She said this shows a 'deliberate attempt to hide the truth.' L'Equipe, however, quoted messages investigators obtained before she arrived at Hakimi's house. 'Ugh, I'm so pissed lol,' the complainant said in a message before her friend asked her to listen to the rap song 'A l'abri' by 'Fresh La Peufra.' 'I had no choice but to take this risk to protect my family,' the complainant said. The friend also asked the complainant to play the role of a 'femme fatale.' 'Try to crack the codes and everything…We're gonna rob him…. We're street girls,' some of the messages between the two friends read. Hakimi's lawyer said the messages about 'cracking the codes' are an attempted blackmail scheme. Hakimi's testimony On March 2, 2023, Hakimi gave his testimony on the case, emphasizing that the woman was lying. He stressed that her allegations sought to destroy his career. Hakimi acknowledged that they kissed and laughed because her lip gloss stung. He said they went to the kitchen to rinse their mouths and kissed again, and moved to the couch, where she continued using her phone. 'She told me she was working, which I respected. We kept kissing -longer kisses- with my hand on her lower back. She said, Nothing will happen on the first night. I respected that. I said Ok. We kept kissing, but she kept using her phone,' Hakimi said. Mbappe's testimony Kylian Mbappe also gave his statement to the investigators. Hakimi's former teammate said that he discussed the situation with Hakimi and emphasized he trusts his friend. 'Achraf Hakimi is respectful toward women. Even when drunk, I've never seen him act inappropriately,' Mbappe said. He added, 'Even when I wasn't there, no female friends ever came back to me saying he crossed any lines.' Fans in Morocco and France are increasingly suspecting a calculated maneuver behind the case and its sudden resurfacing, especially as the Ballon d'Or nominations approach. Many see this as a targeted attack fueled by jealousy. One commentator on X said : ' Just days before the Ballon d'Or nominations, France brought out a file against Haimi. It's disgraceful! The French are consumed by jealousy and cannot accept that a Moroccan might be the best.' Another one added: 'Just to get him out of the Ballon d'Or picture, what a cheap move, and the club didn't say anything about it better for Hakimi to go to another club.' 'They can fabricate cases, bribe journalists, and try to tarnish his name… Hakimi keeps moving forward, crushing everything in his path. Next stop: Ballon d'Or 2025,' another one said .
